Saw Bruno's performance, amazing.

Chris Brown, yawn.

Fell asleep only to wake up to Nicki Minaj making herself a clueless spectacle, wtf!

I missed Jennifer and Adele

Every year people complain about Grammy winners, despite the nominations coming 3 months before the show airs and it being patently obvious who will most likely win. Rarely is there a real upset. All the disgust and outrage over Chris Brown getting the Best R&B Album award is comedy. Did anyone truly expect that El Debarge, Kelly Price or even R. Kelly to walk away with it?

the "disgust and outrage" is valid because a) Chris Brown sucks. b) the excellent Jill Scott album should have been nominated and won and c) Chris Brown sucks.

Um, I had never heard Taylor Swift before. She was offensively bad! WTF?!?

I thought I missed Whitney before the show... then I saw what passes for "talent" nowadays. disbelief

I like Adele a lot, but she clearly had absolutely no competition. None.

I'm just thankful JHud's tribute to Nippy was worth sitting through that trainwreck.

Nicki Minaj panned for onstage excorism at Grammys

By Hollie McKay

Published February 13, 2012

| FoxNews.com

minaj grammys 640

Miss Minaj, did someone not tell you Madonna did this mock-Catholic thing 20 years ago?

And that Gaga "resurrected" such an act two years ago?

While Nicki Minaj failed to win a Grammy for "Best New Artist" on Sunday night, the burgeoning rap star did succeed in being one of the most discussed singers following the telecast, but not for the most career-boosting of reasons.

Minaji sent the blogosphere into overdrive early in the evening when she arrived on the red carpet supposedly channeling her "Roman Zolanski" alter ego. That required a custom-made Atelier Versace outfit consisting of a blood-red, nun-inspired satin robe. Her "date" was an older man dressed to resemble the pope.

The mood backstage was a mixture of confusion, embarrassment and offense as the performance dragged on, going deeper and deeper in mocking Catholic faith. In a pre-taped skit which was broadcast before her live showdown, Minaj sang "I Feel Pretty," while putting on lipstick to set the stage for the insanity, and the same priest-figure was brought into her room to find out what was wrong with the "sick child."

Minaj drew Lady Gaga comparisons not only for the fact she was using an abundance of sacrilegious symbols, but also because she wore a long bleached blonde wig that resembled Gaga from afar.

"No Lady Gaga performance at the 2012 Grammys? Bummer. But wanna-be controversial rapper Nicki Minaj was happy to do her best Gaga imitation," wrote the Hollywood Reporter.

And although Minaj got tongues wagging with the controversial performance, and became an instant trending topic on Twitter, it still might have cost her at least a few fans as the web blew up with outrage and amusement.

"This nicki minaj performance makes me want to fill my ears with cement then super glue my eyelids together and punch myself in the face," tweeted one viewer, while another said "religion shouldn't be disrespected like that."

Several others expressed disgust that her performance went down during Black History Month, while others simply tweeted that "she SUCKED."

In fact, there was barely a positive tweet out there following Minaj's moment in the spotlight. The critics weren't buying into it either.

"All of Minaj's sacrilegious button-pushing is bound to annoy the Christian Right, the moral majority and make a few fleeting headlines," THR added, while E! online referred to her as the "Worst Spectacle" with a "kinda silly" and "way too long" performance. Entertainment Weekly called it "a mess featuring a whole lot of religious imagery, a smattering pyro and no real messages to be found."

Well this year was a bit surprising... They didnt nominate Beyonce in all the categories like they usually do. They could have easily nominated her in that R&B category but didnt... All the contendors had pretty strong success commercially and Jill Scott got robbed BIG time... She definitly should have been nominated in place of Chris Brown.

Adele wins 6 Grammys, including album of the year

LOS ANGELES (AP) — With six awards, Adele has matched Beyonce for most Grammy wins in a night by a female act.

Adele's six wins Sunday night include album, record and song of the year. Beyonce set the record two years ago.

Adele was shaking as she won album of the year, almost in tears as she held the award.

Adele's "21" was 2011's best-selling album. It's sold more than six million units in the United States.

She yelled at the end of her speech: "Thank you so much!"

However Prince only have 7 Grammys - for his very very loong career.... eek

too bad, that's far too less for Prince, he deserved to get more back in 1982-1995, IMHO.

Between Lady Gaga and Nikki, just seems like they're in a costume competition to see who can wear the most outrageous costume, that will be the most talked about the next day, on top of who made the craziest entrance. lol Seems it's becoming more about fashion than talent. If you have the talent you don't need to go all out to draw attention to yourself.

Most Definitly.. I think James Brown and Marvin Gaye a piece have One grammy and Queen doesnt even have any... I dont take the Grammys seriously.. Their not a jugdement of artistic merit or talent just a popularity contest...

I dont think Prince even cares...

No, there were times she has been nominated and didnt win in some categories but for the majority of the time she has

However, it is the first time she has walked away with 0 grammys in being nominated for ANY category...

I'm exactly glad she didnt win anything because as usual she didnt deserve anything but in the past because of her popularity the Grammys kissed her ass like they do every year with the most popular star.. While El, Kelly and Jedsi, R. Kelly didnt win, they were MUCH better deserving canidates even Jill although she wasnt nominated.

With all due respect, and I LOVE Prince, back then his competition actually had TALENT. Nowadays there is no talent other than looking good, flipping your hair and shaking your ass. If he was truly competing today I would be more outraged because there is little to no talent for him to lose any nomination.

I agree! It was much harder to get a grammy and the grammy nominations had better songs and more talent. The competition was much harder than what it is now.

I meant that I dont think Prince cares about winning anymore Grammies because he would be competing with the new generation. The grammies have lost its credibility and relevance to music.

Its just a popularity contest.

Thought so...

Anyway... woot! Yay Adele! I'm happy for her. LL seems to be getting good reviews for hosting last night.

I think Nicki will regret her performance. People are talking but they're probably not saying what she'd like to hear lol

Seems like they tried to be creative in how they honored those who past this year. Whether by a short mention like Don Cornelius or with tribute ie Etta James and Whitney Houston.

Congrats to Cee Lo & Melanie Fiona too for their win for Best Traditional R&B Performance & Best R&B Song for, "Fool For You".

Kanye racked up in the Rap categories as I figured.

Very true! Jill Scott should have least been nominated in that category and won! Was Raphael Saadiq even nominated this year?
