2012 Grammy Talk Thread - Winners, Losers, Performances., etc
[Edited 2/8/12 18:13pm] Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman |
Diana Ross has been added to the list of presenters, which also includes Common, actress Taraji P. Henson (CBS’ “Person of Interest”) and Reba McEntire. Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman |
Do we know what categories they're showing?
I hope Kelly C & Jason Aldean get some face-time when they win. Adele obviously will. |
I know Dance music is being shown for the first time Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman |
I dont know if I have the strength to watch, I may just mute it till Adele comes out and performs. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything. |
Won't be watching, as always... Check me out and add me on:

Has Album Of The Year been this predictable since Lauryn Hill in 1999? I don't think so. |
musicjunky318 said: Has Album Of The Year been this predictable since Lauryn Hill in 1999? I don't think so. Well I don't know. Grammys might pull a fast one (think back to 2008 when everybody was on this Amy Winehouse vs. Kanye thing for AOTY...in the end, Herbie won!) Not interested in Adele's music or anything, but she is the strongest contender and the sorest loser. Check me out and add me on:

Who watches the Grammys and who STILL cares about the bullshit because thats all it is??

Both Rihanna (with Coldplay) and Chris are slated to perform at the Grammy Awards, which airs on television on February 12. This will be the first time the music stars both attend the awards since Chris assaulted Rihanna three years ago after a 2009 pre-Grammy party. Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman |
Oh boy. |
I thought he beat the shit out of her before the grammy's? The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything. |
Haven't the Shammys always been a joke and political? Just like the Oscars. Award shows in general bore the crap out of me, always have.
I might watch Adele's performance tho. |
Pre-Grammy party. Get it? |

I don't care about these awards shows either. They're so boring. They've always been boring. I don't care if it's 1988 or 2008. Is it really necessary to televise them? |
Idk.... i would think Adele would be a shoe in to win!
but the grammies do pull fast ones a lot!
1985 Lionel Richie winning over Prince & Bruce Springsteen CHILD
The 2009 Grammy awards when Robert plant & Alison Krauss.. i adore Rober Plant & like Alison. But Radioheads album was WAYYYYYYYYYYY better in every regard imo.
And yes of course the Herbie year
So the grammys could shock us this year who know's Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

The grammies and the other music shows DONT realize that the audience they are catering too, isnt watching them at all. My problem is this show suffers the same fate as the MTV network, just mtv being a joke calling itself a video station and yet never showing a video, the grammies are an "AWARDS" show that gives out like 9 awards and has about 80 categories, that to me is a joke, now its playing for ratings and sales because it needs the artists to perform, but lets face it, sales suck right now and have for a decade plus, had Adele not had her album this year would have been the biggest drop in a decade, but they need to limit the performances way way down, i mean how many do they have? the last time i watched this show they had 23! thats not a show thats a telethon. They say that its boring to sit through handing out awards in categories like jazz and classical and country, well since country has its own show, as do the latin grammys, just give out all the pop/rb/rock/metal/dance awards, limit the performances to 10, give out about 25-30 awards, LIMIT the fucking speeches, stop the needless thank yous of your hair stylist and weave buyer. END the useless banter of the WACK hosts, and trust me this show would be more meaningful, im tired of having to go online to see who won Rock Album, that shit should be on the show as should RB album, performance, pop album etc....get real, lose 75% of the performances NO ONE CARES. just use the top acts you have to perform, i dont need to hear the whole Blake Shelton song thats not out yet. Tell us how you really feel
I love your posts.. so spot on! First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
Yes they have. Always the SAME boring performers and presenters. Its just a popuarity contest. I am very happy for Adele. I dont think I have been as happy for someone being nominated in a longggg time she exactly deserves it First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
I agree they need to show more categories. They never air the winners I want to see go up and accept.
I'm afraid Kelly Clarkson, Marsha Ambrosius, and Cee-Lo will all win but it'll be in the pre-show that nobody sees. |
Well said. I agree. |
I remember last year they announced the R&B category winners on the red carpet BEFORE the actual ceremony. That shit was just ridiculous. |
The always do that. The only recent one I remember them showing was Jennifer Hudson in 2009 for Best R&B Album. |
I understand the idea of being all inclusive and this and that, and keeping it fair, but you could actually increase some sales when people see that such and such won best metal album, seriously, i mean outside of some of us on this forum that might go on Grammy.com to check and see who the hell won for Rock album or Rb male performance etc... no one even knows or cares who won these, and if we are gonna say that, why have the show? just have 50 performances and call it a night and forget the awards. I mean years ago i can remember seeing all the Rock awards, or all the rb awards on the show, now you get one and its so lame because they tie the winner into a performance piece right after it so u kind know whos gonna win in a way. I forget there was one year where i think it was Alison Krauss or someone else, low key, actually won the most awards that night and NONE on the freaking show?? really? again why have them. I find myself just look for female artists i like to see what the wore and how hot they looked, and some years catching a good performance or two. The always do that. The only recent one I remember them showing was Jennifer Hudson in 2009 for Best R&B Album. Yep. And since they took alot of categories out this year, the ceremony is going to get even more worse. It's basically going to be a ceremony full of worthless performances. Last year, they had a pre-show webcast where they would show the awardees of the lesser categories win Grammys. So I don't know how they're gonna do it this year. It's just all ridiculous! Check me out and add me on:

It's even worse this year:
The annual GRAMMY Awards telecast is known as Music's Biggest Night, but, in the hours leading up to the telecast, music enjoys a pretty big day as well. This year, approximately 70 of the 78 GRAMMY categories will be announced at the Pre-Telecast Ceremony on Feb. 12, with the final categories showcased on the CBS telecast. While there's no denying the unique excitement that's part of every GRAMMY broadcast, the Pre-Telecast has come into its own as a major stand-alone event with a distinctive character, an expanding audience, GRAMMY-style live performances, and, of course, no commercial interruptions.
http://www.grammy.com/new...iggest-day
|
Why in the world would they only air 8 of the categories? What's the point of the show? |
What the fuck? And we already know what four of them are. The General categories.
Ughhhhhh |
They just seem to make things worse... might as well sent a Grammy to someone's mailbox.
Wait, they already have been doing that... announce eight in the major telecast. If you wanna see who won the other awards, go to the pre-telecast. Doesn't really make sense but okay... [Edited 2/11/12 15:27pm] |
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
and they probably will all go to Adele. |
They might announce who won Best Pop Solo, Best Pop Vocal Album, Record, Song and Album of the Year since she's nominated in those categories anyway. The only one that won't be televised that she's also up for is Best Video and I already think Gaga got that one if not anything else (can't see her winning Best Pop Vocal Album or Album of The Year). |
They'll do one Pop category, one Country category, one Rock category, and one Rap category.
R&B will get the cold shoulder once again. Watch and see. |
R&B always gets the cold shoulder. I already know that. |
I don't even know who's gonna win R&B Album this year. The nominations are all over the place.
They should have kept Contemporary R&B instead of trying to concise everything. |
Well the committee's already gotten a lot of backlash from them eliminating the 20-some categories. I guess we'll see what they'll decide after this year's Grammys. |
Next thing you know they will only have 2 R&B categories left. |
lol I don't think they'll go that far... least I hope not. If that's the case, there'll be a bigger uproar than them deleting Best Contemporary Hawaiian Recording. |
They've done the same thing as far as rock goes. They took out the instrumental rock album category (guess to concise every nod in the Best Rock Album category) and some metal-influenced categories as well. |
Ok seriously, who gives a shit? |
Pretty much...
I dont see why any category matters when it is centered around popularity and politics. To be honest, I rather see all new different members on the committee than any added categories.. It seems their might have been a few changes or the committee decided they were going to be a little fairer this time around.
Because this past decade has been absolutely ridiculous... Their have been alot of great R&B albums that have gotten snubbed BIG time.

Kelly Price was overcome with emotion on the red carpet as she was chatting with Ryan Seacrest, one of the many displays of mourning in the wake of Whitney Houston's passing just last night. Kelly Rowland described Houston as a "hero" who impacted "not just the music industry but the world." Earlier in the broadcast, Jennifer Hudson called in to confirm that she'd be honoring the late megastar by singing one of Houston's songs (Hudson will sing "about two minutes" of "I Will Always Love You," a Dolly Parton song which Houston covered in 1992). Hudson had reportedly broken down i Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman |

True Dat. LOL. E is milking this for all it's worth. Hopefully, the Grammys will attempt a tasteful approach. |
host LL Cool J spoke to E!’s Ryan Seacrest about the last-minute scramble to prepare for the Whitney Houston tribute. “We immediately had to jump in gear and figure out how we could be respectful and show her the love she deserves,” he said. “I hope that Whitney Houston’s family and her friends, first of all, appreciate what we do.” He said that it’s difficult to keep the balance of celebrating Houston’s life, but also celebrating all of the artists who are nominated this year. “You don’t want to lay this dark cloud over their Grammy appearance,” he said. Cool J didn’t want to give up too many details about the tribute, but he did say that he got a preview of Jennifer Hudson’s upcoming performance. “It sends chills through your spine. She is obviously a different singer, different diva, but she’s the closest thing we have now to Whitney.” Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. Chris Brown? Ick. I really don't like him. I don't see that much talent. Does anyone else? I mean, he's just ripping off MJ and doing it poorly. And my mom said Chris is like the male Jennifer Lopez. lol. But he's not the only one: Justin Timberlake, Usher, and Trey Songz as well. Rihanna looked hotter than fire on the red carpet though. OK, so I ran to the store and missed the last of the Grammys. People on my facebook are up in arms about Nicki Minaj's performance. This pastor I know called it "demonic" what the fuck did she do? |
^Yep the uproar has already begun. This will be huge by tomorrow, the christians are getting their torches.
The same thing is the whole thing was a piece of shit performance but that wont matter. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything. |
|
In the parts I saw she was trying to replay the Exorcist. Apparently "Roman" is some dude disguised as her. And the parts of the actual performance I did see was just awful. Like I said she's in the wrong genre. |
I just googled it. The articles are saying she did some crazy shit like try to get a demon out of her and shit like that. What the fuck is wrong with this bitch? The soccer moms are gonna crucify her ass, and rightfully so.
I really want her album to flop so she can become old news already. It's only a matter of time, female MCs don't last very long.. |
The fact that Chris Brown won in a R&B category over R. Kelly should let everyone know that this show is a fixed popularity contest. It has nothing to do with music. |
Totally agree. Chris is cute and can dance but he's NOT A SINGER. Totally ridiculous indeed.... |
The fact that Beyonce and Kanye has 16 grammys tells us this show is not about music... we know.
I dont take the Grammys seriously at all.. First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
But not only that he doesnt even sing R&B... The fact that he was even nominated in that category is beyond me
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
It seems like each year the industry shows how it's more of a business than about the music.
The way they cut most of the categories out and specifically chose certain categories to be televised. It's all business.
Funny how Best R&B Album was televised this year but wasn't last year.... The Grammy founder or president encouraging that Chris Brown deserves a second chance days before the show. Fixed. Fixed. Fixed. |
This is why I dont watch that shit... it only angers me..
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
He won by default. R. Kelly hasn't had much support from the Grammys in years. Chris was the only other high-profile name. I knew once it was gonna be televised I wasn't gonna see El, Kelly, or Ledisi walking up to the stage. |
Yeah I already knew they were gonna give it to Chris before they announced the winner. Looking at his expression, he knew he was gonna win it too. I wasn't outraged or nothing. It is what it is. El or Kels wasn't even at the show anyways. |
El was seated behind Taylor Swift....I always have my eye out for him, he's just so sexy!!!!!
Anyway, yeah CB winning for Best R&B is a total sham, big time!!!!
Also, what is different about LL Cool J's face? |
He looked pissed to me. Head all down. |
Don't know why they didn't show him. |
He always got the angry look. He even had it before we knew of his private life. |
Yeah it was only like 2 seconds I saw him seated behind Taylor....and yes, very stupid that they didn't show him on screen when he was being nominated for an award.... |
Kelly was in the audience too, they showed her clapping when they were reading the nominees. I had thought she permanently switched to gospel music. President of Gay Irish Sorcerers for Divorce.

R. Kelly has been nominated for each of his releases so he always had their support. Chris won because he's a younger act and more "current". It's evident he was going to win based on the other nominees. They threw R. Kelly in because of his credibility in the industry but other then that it was bound to be handed to Chris. This is all geared to a "comeback" for Chris Brown. It's all fixed. |
El didn't go? I know Kellz was invited and his seat was actually near the front row but he didn't show up. I don't blame him. |
I was referring to an actual win. |

Nah tonight was his first Grammy win. |
Oh great and they give it to this buster over people he will never outsing in this lifetime. This is the world we live in now. Fraudulent. ~~~ mercy, calling mercy...here come The Undertaker ~~~ |
|
"Now"? It's always been like that. |
Again, can someone tell me what's different about LL's face? Just something seems different suddenly..... |
I remember talented people winning back in the day. The Grammys used to be considered authentic a long time ago. ~~~ mercy, calling mercy...here come The Undertaker ~~~ |

LOS ANGELES (AP) — With six awards, Adele has matched Beyonce for most Grammy wins in a night by a female act.
Adele's six wins Sunday night include album, record and song of the year. Beyonce set the record two years ago.
Adele was shaking as she won album of the year, almost in tears as she held the award.
Adele's "21" was 2011's best-selling album. It's sold more than six million units in the United States. She yelled at the end of her speech: "Thank you so much!" [Edited 2/12/12 22:32pm] MJ L.O.V.E: http://www.facebook.com/v...3112114689 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent |

That don't take a lot of effort. Glen Campbell was blessed with talent in his mouth and hands. |
May I say Jennifer looked stunning.. very classy dress and nice hair.. forgot to mention

Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Epic fail! |
Saw Bruno's performance, amazing. Chris Brown, yawn. Fell asleep only to wake up to Nicki Minaj making herself a clueless spectacle, wtf! I missed Jennifer and Adele At least the ending with McCartney rocks. "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..." |
Stupid hoe. |
|
Every year people complain about Grammy winners, despite the nominations coming 3 months before the show airs and it being patently obvious who will most likely win. Rarely is there a real upset. All the disgust and outrage over Chris Brown getting the Best R&B Album award is comedy. Did anyone truly expect that El Debarge, Kelly Price or even R. Kelly to walk away with it? |
the "disgust and outrage" is valid because a) Chris Brown sucks. b) the excellent Jill Scott album should have been nominated and won and c) Chris Brown sucks. |
The train wreck that was Nicki Minaj last night. This guy is smart...I should've covered my ears too. |
Um, I had never heard Taylor Swift before. She was offensively bad! WTF?!? I thought I missed Whitney before the show... then I saw what passes for "talent" nowadays. I like Adele a lot, but she clearly had absolutely no competition. None. I'm just thankful JHud's tribute to Nippy was worth sitting through that trainwreck. Nicki Minaj panned for onstage excorism at GrammysPublished February 13, 2012 | FoxNews.com
Miss Minaj, did someone not tell you Madonna did this mock-Catholic thing 20 years ago?
And that Gaga "resurrected" such an act two years ago?
While Nicki Minaj failed to win a Grammy for "Best New Artist" on Sunday night, the burgeoning rap star did succeed in being one of the most discussed singers following the telecast, but not for the most career-boosting of reasons.
Minaji sent the blogosphere into overdrive early in the evening when she arrived on the red carpet supposedly channeling her "Roman Zolanski" alter ego. That required a custom-made Atelier Versace outfit consisting of a blood-red, nun-inspired satin robe. Her "date" was an older man dressed to resemble the pope. The mood backstage was a mixture of confusion, embarrassment and offense as the performance dragged on, going deeper and deeper in mocking Catholic faith. In a pre-taped skit which was broadcast before her live showdown, Minaj sang "I Feel Pretty," while putting on lipstick to set the stage for the insanity, and the same priest-figure was brought into her room to find out what was wrong with the "sick child."
Minaj drew Lady Gaga comparisons not only for the fact she was using an abundance of sacrilegious symbols, but also because she wore a long bleached blonde wig that resembled Gaga from afar.
"No Lady Gaga performance at the 2012 Grammys? Bummer. But wanna-be controversial rapper Nicki Minaj was happy to do her best Gaga imitation," wrote the Hollywood Reporter.
And although Minaj got tongues wagging with the controversial performance, and became an instant trending topic on Twitter, it still might have cost her at least a few fans as the web blew up with outrage and amusement.
"This nicki minaj performance makes me want to fill my ears with cement then super glue my eyelids together and punch myself in the face," tweeted one viewer, while another said "religion shouldn't be disrespected like that."
Several others expressed disgust that her performance went down during Black History Month, while others simply tweeted that "she SUCKED." In fact, there was barely a positive tweet out there following Minaj's moment in the spotlight. The critics weren't buying into it either.
"All of Minaj's sacrilegious button-pushing is bound to annoy the Christian Right, the moral majority and make a few fleeting headlines," THR added, while E! online referred to her as the "Worst Spectacle" with a "kinda silly" and "way too long" performance. Entertainment Weekly called it "a mess featuring a whole lot of religious imagery, a smattering pyro and no real messages to be found."

Well this year was a bit surprising... They didnt nominate Beyonce in all the categories like they usually do. They could have easily nominated her in that R&B category but didnt... All the contendors had pretty strong success commercially and Jill Scott got robbed BIG time... She definitly should have been nominated in place of Chris Brown. First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
^
very cool..... for Adele.
However Prince only have 7 Grammys - for his very very loong career....
too bad, that's far too less for Prince, he deserved to get more back in 1982-1995, IMHO.
Prince... Release those re-mastered albums with bonus tracks NOW for Christ's sake. I don't wanna wait no more. It's better NOW than never! |
|
Between Lady Gaga and Nikki, just seems like they're in a costume competition to see who can wear the most outrageous costume, that will be the most talked about the next day, on top of who made the craziest entrance. UK artist - Daley, puts a nice flavor to r&b

Most Definitly.. I think James Brown and Marvin Gaye a piece have One grammy and Queen doesnt even have any... I dont take the Grammys seriously.. Their not a jugdement of artistic merit or talent just a popularity contest...
I dont think Prince even cares... First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
The Grammies is PLAYED all the way OUT.
Ignorance................is always biased. |
No, there were times she has been nominated and didnt win in some categories but for the majority of the time she has
However, it is the first time she has walked away with 0 grammys in being nominated for ANY category...
I'm exactly glad she didnt win anything because as usual she didnt deserve anything but in the past because of her popularity the Grammys kissed her ass like they do every year with the most popular star.. While El, Kelly and Jedsi, R. Kelly didnt win, they were MUCH better deserving canidates even Jill although she wasnt nominated. [Edited 2/13/12 7:06am] First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
With all due respect, and I LOVE Prince, back then his competition actually had TALENT. Nowadays there is no talent other than looking good, flipping your hair and shaking your ass. If he was truly competing today I would be more outraged because there is little to no talent for him to lose any nomination. Because of their half-baked mistakes, we get ice cream, no cake; all lies, no truth; is it fair to Kill the YOUTH ~~ Party Up |
I agree! It was much harder to get a grammy and the grammy nominations had better songs and more talent. The competition was much harder than what it is now.
I meant that I dont think Prince cares about winning anymore Grammies because he would be competing with the new generation. The grammies have lost its credibility and relevance to music.
Its just a popularity contest. First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win-Mahatma Gandhi |
Thought so...
Anyway...
I think Nicki will regret her performance. People are talking but they're probably not saying what she'd like to hear
Seems like they tried to be creative in how they honored those who past this year. Whether by a short mention like Don Cornelius or with tribute ie Etta James and Whitney Houston. |
Here's Adele demonstrating how it's done. So proud of her performance, humility and six awards last night. |
Adele looked great too.
Congrats to Cee Lo & Melanie Fiona too for their win for Best Traditional R&B Performance & Best R&B Song for, "Fool For You".
Kanye racked up in the Rap categories as I figured. [Edited 2/13/12 8:32am] |
I just watched that trainwreck of a performance by Nicki Minaj.
What a fucking shame.
|

sho u right! i think the fiber-optic weave programmers have nicki's mind. she seems to be mentally gone. watch the press take the air out of any positive notarity for nicki. from here on, i can openly predict that nicky "roman" minaj is going to be a puppet for the defaming media mongers. she's alienated too many people. just look at the press reviews of her grammy performance. girl's on her way out! (only place left for her imo is pornomark my words.)

It's one thing to ignorantly disrespect variant beliefs in God and The Bible, but the Roman Catholic Church specifically? Katy and Rihanna: New couple alert?
|
Ooh. |
Word on the street is that RiRi likes the kitty cat if you know what I mean. |
I've heard. |
The Grammy’s was wack. The only thing I really enjoyed was Adele. Lil Wayne, Chris (especially) and Nicki Minaj needed to sit down somewhere with that mess they was singing. It was CRAP…lol at chris winning for R&B album. He’s contributing nothing to R&B I did like some of his album but it was more pop and should have been treated as such.
The new singles he performed yesterday was terrible … his dancing only saving him and barely at that no one respects him anymore. Nicki should not be allowed to make more songs..lmaoo. I think I might skip the BET awards this year as well these three are the channel’s darling and they turning me off with their music. I hope the Weeknd , Miguel or Frank Ocean make it to the Grammy’s next year.
[Edited 2/13/12 16:08pm] |
The way she looked at Katy Perry, I think she wanted to lick the kitty kat right then and there. |
What do you mean "or even R. Kelly"? He was definitely more deserving than the other nominees and his album is actually critically acclaimed unlike the others.
The outrage of Brown's win is understandable since his music isn't even R&B. |
Poor Gaga. She's usually the one to be in the limelight but this year was totally ignored. |
Yeah, I would hit that (no pun intended!) |
Watching Rhianna, and my gf said "this whole song is one line over and over!"
I said "it's a good line at least!" |
As silly as the grammys are, there is at least the pretense of these being an award based on merit, and not only about popularity.
Obviously that is not entirely true. But they are head and shoulders above any other music awards. |

Make that two decades. The chick from Shalamar won it in the late 80s (forgot which year). |
I liked it and was glad they won over Nikki. |
The great performances (And my favorites of the night):
Bonnie & Alicia-I like that Alicia sang in her range (She should always do that!) Bonnie is an older artist that kept it real. Adele-What a stage presence for a new artist at such a young age!! (Besides a good voice) Jennifer Hudson-Nailed it.
Very Good: Bruno-Nice James Brown performance. Put a twist and be you Bruno. (Prince did-You can too) Foo fighters-Fun and energetic. (Not a huge fan of the lead singers voice).
Disappointing Crap: Chris Brown: Besides the crap lip sync-not that great of a dance routine. Chris Brown just doesn't have the singing voice.
Nikki M. -Just utter crapfest. It was like watching a very bad musical.
Beachboys-Was like watching drying paint. You get a high from them being Beach Boys (and all that great music of years past.), but it was just about as much fun as watching the paint dry.
Paul Mcartney: I love McCartney music-but he has never been an oustanding performer. His first song was boring and life sucking.
The "dance" performance sucked monkey balls. The worst music -unless your high on something.
Rihanna-Crap lip sync with mediocre dancing. --------------- Bruce did okay.

Who's gonna replace her that's just as flashy and popular (mind, I've never seen her live or heard her so I'm not so sure)? Somehow, I doubt that it's Adele, Duffy (where the heck is she, and why didn't she make it in the USA?) Regina Spektor, Arcade Fire, or Bon Iver. The fisrt two are amazing, the last three aren't the kind of artists the general public could get behind (especially the black general public, who were incensed at the Bon Iver win and last years's Arcade Fire win: check out the collected Tweets-http://www.buzzfeed.com/m...s-bon-iver and http://whoisarcadefire.tumblr.com/.)
I hope that both groups don't end up like Christopher_Cross-but considering that both bands are signed to independent labels, that may not happen. |
