Was this supposed to prove how good she is? We already know she can't sing. We didn't need this video to confirm it. It took her like 30 years to pick up an instrument, that she sucks at playing btw? I guess that's why she apologized before she even started playing. "I just started playing." "I have a hamstring pull." No more excuses, you're just mediocre.

Lord no. I would never defend that hack. They arn't laughing with her theyre laughing at her. lol

[Edited 2/7/12 17:15pm]

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I know some of the delusionals on here will actually defend that "performance," so I thought one of them had posted this as evidence of the greatness of their cultural icon.

It's fascinating that even Madonna's detractors still watched every second of her half-time show. She can still command that much attention from people who don't like her music/image/styles. I can't tell you anything about the plethora of half-time shows I muted and ate wings through.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

- Well, the Halftime is a major event and makes us curious. I am not a fan of BEP and I watched on YouTube. Same thing for Madonna. The only one I watched on TV was Prince´s.

From Guinness World Record 2012:

Greatest Audience : The highest-ever viewership was 133.4 million viewers watching the NBC transmission of Super Bowl XXVII on June 31, 1993. Michael was spotlighted during the half-time peformance.

And the record stands?

I doubt Guinness would lie about that.

Since the media hyped it up, I wanted to see what she was going to do. The Gladiator entrance was exciting and the visuals for Vogue were quite good, but it quickly lost steam for me when I noticed that she was not singing and her dancing was visibly shaky. After that point, I watched only bits and pieces of it. Not a fan of LMFAO, M.I.A. or Nicki Minaj. I saw some parts of Like a Prayer with Cee-Lo who I thought was good. However, I just didn't like it. The worst part for me was when she picked up the pom poms and uttered something to the effect that she was cute! Cute at 53? It just seemed ridiculous and childish. Strangely I suppose you could argue that it was consistent with the "everything but the kitchen sink" vibe of the show.

I loved the halftime show.

About as entertaining and fun as possible, given madonna. I didn't expect her to sing like whitney or dance like michael, because obviously she can't.

I just expected her to be a badass motherfucker, like she always is, and she delivered in spades.

The cleopatra entrance! I thought she was gonna conquer shit. Her chair dance! The vogue in general, all jagged and alien. Fucking rock, lady.

I don't know why it works so well for those of us who get it. Everything you say about talent is true. She's moderate.

And while I respect that you might not like her music, to pretend that she's only got "one or two" "pretty good" songs is absurd.

One or two pretty good songs aren't played at weddings, radio stations, bars, clubs, and gyms everyday, all around the world, since 1983. I mean the proof is in the pudding, no? The amount of times I've heard a madonna song come on, and felt a room (or car, or office, or gym, or bar) come alive w/ energy is numerous.

"Ohhhh….I love this song!"

Something is obviously working here.

Or maybe we all just really like badass motherfuckers wink

Madonna should have invited Britney & Gaga instead with Stephanie flipping the bird. Could you imagine?

Forget Nicki & M.I.A.

The only reason I am posting here so much is because it´s still hard to believe that some Prince fans love Madonna that much and some of them even said she was as talented as MJ.

I'm wondering if those numbers by Guiness Book meant worldwide and not just in the U.S. alone. I dont know if the Superbowl is broadcast live in other countries or not, or broadcast later, but maybe the numbers for MJ's halftime show included viewership from other countries?
