Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Most people online:

Madonna’s performance during halftime of the Super Bowl also produced 10,245 tweets per second, one of the busiest moments in Twitter history, and averaged 8,000 TPS for five minutes.

Less than a third of those tweets were negative while 59% were positive and 11% were neutral, WiredSet CEO Mark Ghuneim revealed in a tweet Monday morning.

The halftime performance topped recent events regarded for their online reaction. The 2011 MTV Music Awards – one of the most social TV events ever – had a peak TPS of 8,868, according to a Twitter recap of top 2011 events. Steve Jobs’ resignation had a peak TPS of 7,064 while his death had a peak of 6,049. The BET Awards in June had a high TPS of 6,436.

The impact of Madonna’s halftime show continues to ripple across the Internet. By Monday morning people were sharing links with dates for the singer’s 2012 tour and discussing everything from the economic impact of the performance to her 48.1 rating (up 1% from the Black Eyed Peas last year). Interscope took advantage of the Super Bowl performance by taking to Twitter to remind Madonna fans to pre-order her album at iTunes and get an immediate download of “Give Me All Your Lovin’,” one of the songs in her halftime medley.

Finally, Google has revealed the Super Bowl search trends.
Overall, the top trending searches on “Google” during the game was “Madonna.”
Above all the players, Madonna took the spotlight as the most-searched term during the game.

So much anger/hate asq. Just so much...... lol

What I can never get over with Madonna is the way she thinks she can dance. I know people on the site here have said there is too much hatred going on but I have seen so many Madonna performances on TV and I feel physically embarrassed for her. On the back of that it just confuses me about the general populace-what are they seeing that I am not. I'm not saying that I dislike all the songs-there are some great pop records. However what does get on my nerves is that Madonna can't accept she is not an all rounder e.g. why does the woman pick up a guitar-why does she need to convince herself thatt she controls every aspect of the writing of her songs etc Why isn't the woman just grateful that she releases catchy pop songs and is probably the most popular pop star going. There is nothing wrong with being a professional pop star. Her narcissism is shocking

What I can never get over with Madonna is the way she thinks she can dance - Dancing is about expressing oneself. She never said that she's a great dancer. She just said she can dance. She's no Janet...and she's not trying to be...she's just Madonna.

Her narcissism is shocking - Why can't she do all those things that you've mentioned? Why stop her? Because you are embarassed at the results? Is she annihilating the world in the process? Of course not...she's just doing it because she wants to do it. How would you feel if people start telling you what you can or can't do? And please, don't go to the "at least I know my limitations unlike Madonna" excuse because that would only show the real reason for your comment above.

Maybe everyone who is concerned with artistic integrity and musical depth should write letters to the NFL. Tell them that you disliked the performance and that they should steer away from pop music at the Half Time show. Tell them the audience deserves something more culturally and musically enlightening. After all it's not about entertaining the audience you have to educate them about true music.

everyone on you tube is saying she was so horrible maybe we should send that link to the NFL

Everyone on Youtube.....which dimension? eek

Look on itunes and you'll see the single has risen back to the top 5

You'd better back up your claims, or they are nothing more than that.

that is only your perception, not every single person on the org has 2 mention him regardless of the sites primary reason. if that was the case then the org would only be reduced to the PMM and not the other aspects of GD, Political forum etc

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Most people online are bitter and negative about everything. Is there any artist or performance that is universally praised online? If people hate something, they are more likely to post on twitter or youtube. If people like something, most of the time they don't bother to go to some forum, twitter etc. and post about it. So to tell if people loved it or not, you would have to take a random poll on the street not go by online comments. My relatives who are in their 80's who hate all modern pop music thought it was the best thing they ever saw. I hardly would call them Madonna fanatics. The performance was universally acclaimed by the media and just the average person in the street so I think it's the Internet haters who are out of line in this case.

It's OK to mention him - you're right, this IS prince.org. I've found it funny how people can be embarassed to be a fan even on here - I thought this was our safe refuge where we can admit it.

Anyway, also agree w/ your original statement that he doesn't need gimmicks whereas Madonna does - that's what I wrote in my first post. That's what that 2008 USA Today article pointed out.

But the halftime show was pretty good. I'm glad she's still doing her thing and I admire anyone who's survived 3 decades in the music biz - no easy feat!

admittedly i didn't watch the game or half-time b/c i'm not fan of the nfl or madonna in general. but this morning, madonna apparently told ryan seacrest that she thought m.i.a's bird flipping was a 'teenaged' thing to do.

excuse me? didn't someone post a picture of this hypocrite flipping the bird at people at her concert and when she played that telethon, whatever it was for?

yes, m.i.a. got a lot of mileage out of that one act, b/c i would have no idea who she is without this pseudo-controversy. but hasn't this sort of 'childish' behavior been the cornerstone of madonna's career? am i missing something?
