Not finding any other info elsewhere.
I don't think it is a good decision to have her as the performer but MUCH better than the Black Eyed Peas rancid show! Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

Madonna To Perform At Super Bowl Halftime Show! Will there be a wardrobe malfunction? Madonna is scheduled to be the halftime show performer for the Super Bowl in 2012 according to a tip we received. The NFL has not commented but the Super Bowl performer is usually not officially announced until November/December. The super bowl will be held in Indianapolis on February 5 and will be televised on NBC. The source we heard it from was the same source who told us Prince was playing the Super Bowl and then Bruce Springsteen. This should be some Super Bowl performance....because all football fans listen to Madonna right? Kidding. What do you think of Madonna being the Super Bowl performer next year? Diagnosis: Lots of hits to fit into 12 minutes LOVE ♪♫♪♫ ♣¤═══¤۩۞۩ஜ۩ஜ۩۞۩¤═══¤♣

Madonna Super Bowl playlist: What should she sing during the half-time show?Get into the (football) groove: Madonna has officially been announced as the featured performer for the Super Bowl XLVI half-time show on Feb. 5 in Indianapolis. While it’s still a little too soon to place our bets on which teams will play in the big game (where’s Lisa Simpson when you need her?), that doesn’t mean we can’t start to guess, or at the very least make our wish list, for what the Material Girl will sing during the half-time show. (Early prediction: She probably won’t play “Material Girl.”) While last year’s half-time act/pod people of the future the Black Eyed Peas, along with Usher and Slash, played eight tunes, the standard playlist by previous performers like Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Paul McCartney, and U2 has featured three to five of their greatest hits. (Then again, Prince rocked no less than seven during his Super Bowl XLI appearance.) So what’s the ideal Madonna playlist? While Justin Timberlake might run into some roadblocks in order to appear on the Super Bowl half-time stage again (something about a “wardrobe malfunction”?) it would be great to have him perform their sporty, arena-worthy duet “4 Minutes.” (Though, speaking of sport, I’d almost rather have Madonna perform at the World Series, if only for the sole purpose of a long-overdue revival of “This Used to Be My Playground.” Go Peaches!) As for the other possible songs for the 53-year-old pop icon to perform, “Like a Prayer,” “Express Yourself,” ‘Ray of Light,” “Music,” and the very un-Super Bowl-y but essential nevertheless “Vogue” could make for one hell of a mix on the hydrangea-free stage. But what do you think, PopWatchers? Which tunes should Madge pull out for the Super Bowl? Are you hoping for a Britney Spears surprise for “Me Against the Music” or, since the Super Bowl is the best holiday of the year, would there be nothing more fitting than “Holiday”? Madonna's Super Bowl appearance marks another return to pop(Credit: Getty Images)
(CBS) Madonna's Super Bowl halftime appearance marks a true return to pop music for the NFL. In February 2011, we saw the Black Eyed Peas, Usher and guitarist Slash perform - the first time a non-rock act made the bill for football's biggest night since the 2004 Janet Jackson-Justin Timberlake "nipplegate" controversy. Since then, Super Bowl organizers have played it safe by booking rock acts that lean on the aging, classic rock side of the genre, including Paul McCartney (2005), The Rolling Stones (2006), Prince (2007), Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers (2008), Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band (2009) and The Who (2009). Now Madonna, who was rumored as the Super Bowl hafltime pick for months, will continue the pop music tradition, on the heels of the Black Eyed Peas' 2011 performance. She's also only the second major female artist (besides Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas) to grace the Super Bowl halftime stage in eight years. And Madonna is somewhat of a risque choice, as she's been known to drum up controversy of her own. Her 1989 "Like a Prayer" music video, with its burning crosses, drew received criticism from Catholics. She also stirred up debate in 2006 when she staged a crucifixion during her Confessions tour. The Super Bowl performance comes at a good time for the Material Girl, who's poised to have a busy 2012. The 53-year-old star's romantic drama, "W.E.," hits theaters just two days before her Super Bowl appearance. There are also rumors about a single dropping around the time of the Super Bowl. The track will appear on Madonna's as-yet-untitled 12th studio album due out in 2012.

Gene is the biggest asshole out there IMO. He's very jealous of other people and their accomplishments. His reality show is a joke (the marriage completely staged for the show IMO). He's an average bassist at best AND I hope KISS never gets into the RRHOF.

People are complaining that there are too many Madonna threads and that she should have a sticky... I guess they forgot she already has one. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

First: that wouldn´t be fair 4 the other band members (those from the 70´s and 80´s -not the look a likes from these days) and I guess back then even Gene was a nicer person !!! 2nd :Somehow he´s right, Madonna will be a playback show, just like MJ...nothing compared 2 Petty, Springsteen and Prince and others....
I love some of Madonna´s cd´s and she´ll put up a great show but I understand what Gene is saying.

Madonna actually doesn't playback. She has playbacked sometimes, of course. But she mostly sings live. And no it's not because I'm a fan, it's because it's the truth.
