Even though I love Digital Underground, I gotta go with De La.

The way they flipped those Funkadelic and Ohio Players samples were dope.

I love digital underground, but i'm convinced this song killed their career before it could really get started.

their first album was great. everybody was bumpin "doowatchyalike" when i was in high school.

then they had "same song", another great song, but for some reason they put it on an ep.

then they released the sons of the p album, another great album, and the single was "kiss you back." "we, we, chocolate cross over"?!?!? no, no, no. even if you are crossing over (which is fine), you don't announce it. no fans (white, black, asian, whatever) want to pandered to like that, and you certainly aren't gonna get much love for the black community with it. ugh.

and it was mostly down hill from there except for wussup wit the love.

... oh, and yeah, de la soul wins this one.

Me Myself & I obviously but Kiss You Back was nice. Me Myself & I just used the Knee Deep sample better. nod

Yup. De La's groove is closer to the original but DU smoothed it out a little with theirs cool

Huge fan of DeLa but I'm like them in my hatred of Me Myself & I. Kiss U Back chopped the sample a little better and was more consistent with who DU were as a group. DeLa was way more artsy and Me Myself was a commercial hit for them but not who they really were as a group

All of you, GTFO of here! rolleyes lol THIS is a easier question than you think.

My vote goes to Digital Underground with Kiss You Back. Their track is fun and sexy. And lets face it, the west coast hip-hop/rap scene was always more superior with the P-Funk samples than the east coast.

There, I said it.

True. I loved DU's smoother approach to the sample.
