How she died is still a mystery to me. She was in the best physical shape of her career in recent year.

RIP Vesta.

I love Vesta!! She really gave her singing her all and was sexy and funny too. This is the third singer I've loved to die in the past year. Sooo depressing. RIP girl!

I never heard of this person, but I did an internet search and found absolutely nothing.

I know. I saw that on search engines while finding the music video.

Vesta was so gifted.She was a very funny lady. I remember when she use to fill in for Donnie Simpson on Video Soul years ago. She can imitate any singer and use to get in trouble from record companies for doing it. She did a dead on imitation of Jackee Harry's "Sandra" character from "227". She also use to sing backup for Chaka Khan they sounded just a like vocally.

I remember meeting her years ago @ Disneyland in the late 80's early 90's when she had her first crossover hit "Congratulations". She was heavier then. I asked to take a picture with her. She was like can I eat my hotdog first lol. She must of gobbled down 10 of them. Very beautiful lady. i HEARD HER RECENTLY SPEAK ON MY FAVORITE SINGER TEENA MARIE's DEATH.Now she is gone .

I was just listening to "Congratulation" yesterday. It's has been years since I'd last listened to the song, because it reminds me of my sister who passed away 5 years ago. People use to request for Kim to sing the song all of the time when it first came out.

News of Vesta's passing feels like losing Kim all over again. Rest In Heaven, Divas!!

Oh my God... She sounds like she was real sick. There was still some power but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting.

Apparently she said she was blacklisted for LOSING the weight.

^ I actually remembered this interview. I remember how down-to-earth she was.

Her publicist just posted this statement on her FB fan page:

It's with a heavy heart that I am confirming that the unbelievably talented Mary Vesta Williams was discovered on Thursday 09/22/11 at approximately 4:30 pm PST in her hotel room in Los Angeles. The LA Coroner said that it appears that she died of Natural Causes while she was sleeping. Ms. William’s was staying at a Los Angeles area hotel while in transition to a new home. She was very excited about so many beautiful things to come in her career, especially her upcoming TV-1 episode of “Unsung.” After meeting with her nephew this morning, I am releasing this statement to dispel anything floating in cyberspace other than the truth first hand. Vesta was in a safe environment and passed on peacefully. I mourn, as millions of others as well. Celebrate her life and talent… She will be missed. We will keep her Facebook Fan Page www.facebook.com/vestawilliams and running as a memorial to our beloved Vesta, but her personal Facebook page will be shut down shortly in respect.
