I would never expect to see something like that. falloff

I remember reading somewhere that Frank had this picture up in his office and the quotes below it were something like -

Frank - The waters cold.

Michael - It's deep too.

lol lol

Please explain. I don't get the quotes. lol

From another fan messageboard:

A framed photo that was hanging in Frank DiLeo’s office of Frank and Michael from behind, standing at urinals in a public restroom. Above Michael’s head, in Michael’s handwriting, are the words, “This water sure is cold.” Above Frank’s head, he wrote, “It’s deep too.”

At 1:38 he talks about the "water sure is cold" joke.

It's not. His career in the U.S. was basically over in 1991 after that "Word to the Badd" mess came out.

so just in france and possibly a few other european countries, then.

the thing is, it's not just that its a cover, but taken on its own, the song is of pretty poor quality. imo, his voice just doesn't stand out on it. he has no conviction; he's just aping mj's phrasing and intonation, etc. he should have chosen a different jackson song that he could have taken to another level, like chaka did with prince's 'i feel for you'.

Depends on what you are after:

If it's discussion on his music go for:

Joe Vogel's soon to be released Man In The Music looks promising.

For The Record is good - get the second edition.

For timeline stuff get

The Visual Documentary by Adrian Grant - super comprehensive.

For bio stuff - read "The magic and the madness - The Whole Story" by Randy J Taborelli (see if they will through in a pinch of salt with it though)

For picture books you can't go past:

Before He Was King by Todd Grey

Michael Jackson - 4 days (The making of Thriller) by Douglas Kirkland

They would be my choice recommendations.

Raven Symone Spotted With Mystery Man At Janet Jackson Show! (PHOTOS)

Photos

Raven Symone has been leaving her swagoo all over red carpets at A-list events this summer, but last night she left the stylish outfits at home for a more casual look.

Raven and an unnamed male companion went to see Janet Jackson perform and the That's So Raven actress wasn't trying to be photographed.

Raven ducked the cameras and hid behind a drawing as she entered the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. Raven has been in a Jackson mood, tweeting a special happy birthday to Janet's brother just days prior.

She tweeted, "@State of Georgia Happy Birthday to #The King of Pop"!!!!!!!! Love you forever Michael Jackson"

Aside from Michael Jackson, we didn't know Raven had a boyfriend! Do you think she's dating this guy?

I was joking around - meaning that when you read his book do so with a cynical eye. He did a lot of research but in his narritive style would recreate scenes or dialogue based on his research, for instance he recreates conversations between 2 people with no one else in the room - so there is no way he is 100% accurate. It's a love/hate book for many fans but one of the better bios our there and one worth reading.
