Ok, I'll take the bait.

It's like comparing a Mc'Donalds Happy Meal to a thick juicy steak.

Nothing wrong with either, just depends what I'm in the mood for.

Does Purple Rain = a Happy Meal?

I was thinking more on the lines of a 6 piece chicken nugget meal...

hmmm I'm gonna have to say it's a tie.I like both albums equally.

The funny thing is....nowadays,when I listen to these albums,I only listen to a few songs from each.I never play these albums in their entirety.I got tired of these songs lol

If I listen to Purple Rain, I'll listen to the entire album.

'Take Me With U,' is the song I like least, but that's because of Appolonia.

I have no reason to listen to 'Thriller' in its entirety. I refuse to listen to 'Baby Be Mine.' It has always been the worst song on the album. I have never liked 'P.Y.T' either. I knew it would be a hit single and dreaded it. I will turn the radio if I hear it. 'The Girl Is Mine,' is so cheesy, once a year will do me. Then there's 'Beat It.' Michael Jackson wants to be Prince but not sound like he's imitating Prince. It's just average to me. If I have to listen to it, let me at least watch the video. 'Lady In My Life.' Beautiful ballad but it sounds studied not emotional. Eventually he gets there but you're almost bored.

'Wanna B Startin' Somethin'' - Funky. I think of it as the predecessor to 'Smooth Criminal,' one of Michael's most brilliant.

'Billie Jean' - One of the greatest pop songs ever. It has become the equivalent of questioned

paternity.

'Human Nature' - Another gem off the album. Even if you don't understand what he's saying, you feel his isolation and longing.

'Thriller' - Brilliant. A song that is played to death annually. Exquisitely, it's not a Christmas

song, where most such artist generate such a feat but Halloween.

Thriller hasn't held up as well as Purple Rain.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Let's Go Crazy vs. Wanna Be Startin' Something

Take Me With You vs. Baby Be Mine

The Beautiful Ones vs. The Girl Is Mine

Computer Blue vs. Thriller

Darling Nikki vs. Beat It

When Doves Cry vs. Billie Jean

I Would Die 4 U vs. Human Nature

Baby I'm A Star vs. P.Y.T.

Purple Rain vs. The Lady In My Life

Having said that, Purple Rain - 10 [best track: When Doves Cry]

Thriller - 9 (The Girl Is Mine barf) [best track: Billie Jean]

I think that they both sound dated.

Not that something being dated is a bad thing.
