And you also gotta take into consideration Michael's success. I mean when your selling the amount of albums MJ was selling each album, it was only right that he has to do those 2 year length world tours and all that, so he didnt have time to make an album every year or so....hence the 4-5 year extended breaks starting from Off the Wall to present.

What Prince was doing with the constant albums and tours, he did for the first 20 years of his career with his brothers, not just in the group, but solo. I almost feel like all the stuff MJ did solo with epic is like a bonus, but it was internationally huge. He could have retired, but he didn't and did what he did best his whole life. And I feel for fans missing out on his songs in the 70's aside from the popular chart hits. There is more to Music & Me than the title track for example, and Dancing Machine has so many underrated songs, as does Goin Places. Man of War anyone?

I respect Prince as an artist and how he has been a huge influence on music today, but I see MJ get more props from people overall if not at least knowing him, and people not really being familiar with Prince, with 1999 or When Doves Cry at the most. I have a friend who thinks of Romeo and Juliet when we hear When Doves Cry, and I still want to shove her for it, I cant imagine anyone not knowing that song like we know Billie Jean or Thriller or Like a Virgin.

Plus you know, I may be an MJ fan, but sometimes it's hard to find fans that appreciate Janet, Madonna and Prince and other artists from a few decades ago, or that like to re-write history. It would be nice if Prince got more props, but I think if anything, he gets it for older songs most. I went to a Prince jam recently with a friend who actually really likes him, but he brought his friends who did not get him while watching his videos and we couldn't stay in the room long cause they wanted to jam to newer stuff in another room, and I went with them to be polite, but was fuming and trying not to explode. He was so amazing onstage and I wanted to keep watching. I may not like every single song of his, but I like dozens and dozens of them and I'm sure if I keep discovering, I will appreciate more of them. That is what I like about Prince, limitless surprises of songs, it adds mystery to him in a way.

Well I care. Prince has had the number 1 & 2 top Billboard chart releases in as recently as 2009. So evidently someone is still buying them. They both went gold. Which is not bad 4 these times.
