LMAO!!!!!!

I also agree that MJ is about quality and Prince about quantity. Though I like that he is more active, I don't own everything of Prince's and don't plan to, cause I don't like everything he's released though I do own about 11 of his albums.

Dangerous is the winner for me as well. Diamonds & Pearls was a solid album and had alot of Prince's important singles, but Dangerous was just a whole 'nother animal. May I also say it was funkier than P's too??? boxed

Yes, I am with you on that notion. I got your back!thumbs up!

If your definition of quality is cheesy crap like Heal The World, dated mess like You Are Not Alone and just plain shit like Bad (the song) then yes you stick to your MJ obsession and I'll stick with the Purple Yoda.

I rather have Prince's creativity and reinventing himself then getting the same old shit on every album that shows ZERO growth and someone just making money off their name. cool

Stevie Wonder = EARTH
Prince = WIND
Chaka Khan = FIRE
Sade = WATER

^^Heal the world is not much more cheesy than Diamonds and pearls! And since when is cheesy nessesarily bad? Besides, ballads are always somewhat cheesy!

And geez, when has Prince ever really reinvented himself?? He's always basically sticking to the (though broad... like Michael... but) same type of music.

Geez! How many albums did Prince release?? 30?? No wonder that in sum there might be more better songs of Prince! But Michael on the other hand hasn't released as many crap and soso songs as Prince has! The ratio on good vs bad songs is much higher on Michael's albums! Per album there are only 1 to 3 songs, that are not as good, whereas on Prince's albums there are 3 to 4 good ones per album and the rest is filler and crap.

I'll take what u call filler from Prince over the Best of most artist of the last 50 years.

Yeah... it's not like that I don't enjoy some of Prince's filler myself (with so many albums I guess you can also release some filler), but... uhm, no! Not everything is all that great as some make it out to be.

Not 1.

I'd take 'Off The Wall' over the first two Prince albums lol

as albums both have their strengths (those smash singles), and their weaknesses (lots of weak tracks too)...

However:

Diamonds And Pearls wins cuz it has better songs (singles) than Dangerous. heart

Gett Off

Cream

D&P
Money Don't Matter 2 Nite

Insatiable

Thunder

I prefer those brilliant Prince singles to:

Black Or White

Jam

Remember The Time

In The Closet

Who Is It

Give In To Me

shouldn't come as a huge surprise on a prince fansite. wink

Prince 4Ever. heart

Seriously though, Cream is a great song though. One of the best on the album. I always really like Diamonds & Pearls too.

This is certainly ironic, considering the fact that for the last 20 years Prince has continued to put out the same thing with slight differences with not much growth at all. Plus we must remember that Prince does want to make money off of his name. That is why he wanted people to pay for a fan website, just because he is Prince. Get a clue, y'all, get a clue.

I can ONLY hear with my ears.

4 my money, Prince is the BEST there ever was in the music business.

LOL there's no need to attack me, I think Prince is creative and I respect him for that, but it doesn't mean I have to buy everything of his either, I see it like art and not understanding every piece out there but enjoying the ones I do

lol lol lol its all with L.O.V.E.

They were both shooting blanks on these two albums. At the time Prince was simply redundant, and Michael was running on the hackneyed fumes of his We Are The World bullshit.

IMO the VS. thread for these two would be 1999 vs Off The Wall, and Purple Rain vs. Thriller. If we were to throw Rick in there for reasoned measure, Street Songs would be with what MJ/Prince pairing? Throwin' Down would be...?
