So who was it that got Gene Simmons and Kiss on the bill in the first?

It could be possibe said person(s) didn't know the statements Gene said about Mike. Hell, I'm a hugr Mike fan and didn't know what he said. It's inpossible to know what everyone says anout the Jacksons Clan.

As much as I want to be relieved, the jacksons are playing mind games again with the public and I hope MJJC can keep their statement up. These tickets could sell out and Jarvis Crocker could be asked next for all we know.

I didn't know about his statements either until early 2010 when those pro-MJ addressed it, cause I was trying to avoid negative media during the death cause I was too much in shock and overwhelmed. But all it takes is a google search, and anyone could have made one before considering asking them.

Oh gosh, you freaking got me none funny chills down my spine with the Jarvis comment...

To LBC, as fucked up as it can be, that's the good use of MJJC, it's the most complete database about anything has ever said about Michael from day 1.

I don't know if the Jacksons are really that dumb because I would hate to call them that. Dumb, naive, foolish but it seems like they were willing to do it. And who knows if Global Live was trying to convince Katherine that KISS loved Michael. I mean was she that sheltered that she didn't know Gene attacked her son just a year ago and after his death the year before that? Obviously she knew people were talking shit about her son when he was alive so why ignore that just so you could sell some tickets?

Glad to make you laugh, but seriously, this should be a lesson for the fanclub too to not trust anyone from now on either. I wouldn't put it past the family to do something like this again after sales.

And they passed the naive behaviour down to MJ and Janet, and look what happened to him sad One would think they learned from experience

That shit doesn't fly today

just because die hard mj fans surf the internet looking for any negative comment made about him dont mean other people have the time or energy to do the same. the jackson family dont know every bad word that was said about mike and who said it.

I still don't understand how they could not know every tom, dick and harry has talked about mj in the industry, before and after the death, and a background check always helps...it would have helped MJ too and he would have still been here

Lets be real here...who gives a shit about this tribute concert? It's really pissing me off due to the fact that they can't get their shit straight. They need to do a legit tribute show and air it on national television (a station like CBS, NBC or even Fox). A nice 2 hour tribute special with big name performers and call it a day. Film it and broadcast it a la MJ 30th Anniversary special

I sure don't. I just wished it was done right but apparently when opportunity comes, whoever this family hires to do it always screws it up. They're not unavoidable of any responsibility because they're just as much a part of this charade. If they had business smarts or at least let Michael teach them HOW to do business, they wouldn't be in this mess. But they wouldn't have listened to Michael anyway. And now he's not here and all hell is breaking loose.

kibbles

i was beginning to think i was going crazy. in the letter, the estate states, 'we assume you do not intend to use [mj's] intellectual property.'

it was always my opinion that the estate had the means to shut this down by simply refusing to allow anyone to perform mj songs. since they hadn't said anything, i thought maybe i was wrong, that maybe b/c it's in cardiff, global live and the jacksons were outside the estate's reach.

but reading between the lines of weitzman's first paragraph, that is a thinly veiled warning and reminder that the estate controls mj's intellectual property - i.e., songs - that gl intends to have others perform in this concert. they know full well that gl intends to use mj's intellectual property, since the invitation katherine sent out asks people to sing one or two mj songs. that whole 'we assume' thing is just the estate being cheeky.

this will be shut down in one way or another. either global live will realize that they're not going to get anyone to that concert, or the estate will simply refuse to grant the perfomance rights to the mj songs.

i agree. a tribute would be more fitting a few more years down the road, after the ugliness of the trial is behind us.

This situation reminds me of that "Jacksons: A Family Dynasty" show. bored Although, those episodes were unintentionally funny most of the time, lol. They should do a second season featuring this new crap, for some [sad] comic relief. I mean, 'cause that's all I think any of them are really fit for, as far as any entertainment is concerned.

At the very least, Randy should have known about Gene's statements. Randy is web browsing more often than any of the other Jackson siblings.
