Kate Bush - "Director's Cut" (NEW ALBUM 2011!!!)

http://www.mojo4music.com...turns.html

Ladies and Gentlemen, Kate Bush is back. The legendary pop siren will release her new album Director's Cut on May 16. And it looks set to be no ordinary record...

Director's Cut sees Kate revisit tracks from 1989's The Sensual World and 1993's The Red Shoes. Some elements have been re-recorded for 2011 and a new version of Deeper Understanding will be released as a single next month.

The LP will be available on standard CD and as a deluxe 3-CD edition (featuring Director's Cut, The Sensual World and The Red Shoesremastered). You'll also be able to get hold of the album on vinyl and via digital download.

Although she contributed a song to The Golden Compass soundtrack in 2007, this will be Kate's first major release since 2005's Aerial.

Woohoo!!!!

MASSIVE NEWS! KATE RELEASES “DIRECTOR’S CUT” ALBUM!

Posted on March 11, 2011 by Seán

KATE RELEASES “DIRECTOR’S CUT” A NEW ALBUM WHICH SEES HER RE-VISIT A SELECTION OF TRACKS FROM TWO OF HER CLASSIC ALBUMS!!!

NEW SINGLE “DEEPER UNDERSTANDING” RELEASED IN APRIL!!!

Director's Cut

London, 11 March 2011

Kate Bush releases an unusual new album “Director’s Cut” on May 16 on her own label Fish People, in conjunction with EMI.

On “Directors Cut” Kate revisits a selection of tracks from her albums “The Sensual World” and “The Red Shoes”, a process that presents a fascinating portrait of an artist in a constant state of evolution. She has re-recorded some elements whilst keeping the best musical performances of each song – making it something of a director’s cut but in sound, not vision.

A new version of “Deeper Understanding” will be released as a single in April. Although written some twenty years ago, the song may be more relevant today than ever…

Kate is currently working on new material although no release date has been set for this.

“Director’s Cut” will be released in the following formats:

Digital Album, Standard CD in a case-bound book, Deluxe CD (three disc package, including Director’s Cut, The Sensual Word and re-mastered The Red Shoes) in a case-bound book and two-disc vinyl.

Other digital and vinyl formats will be made available on katebush.com. Details will be published shortly.

This is a bit of a cop-out. Is this even a new album, really? Sounds like she's just re-recorded 20 year old songs. This screams "I have nothing new to offer" to me.

Back to Tori Amos I guess...

Exciting news! Some great material on The Red Shoes, but the production sounds very dated. Will be nice to see some of these songs revamped. I like The Sensual World too, and I think it sounds better than TRS, but still this will be a fascinating project.

does everybody know about the "unreleased" album Delius, that came out in 2010?

there're some new tracks on that.

in an interview she often lets on that she's very hard-working.

very smart and sexy but she is rather lazy

So one of the laziest makers of music spends precious time reworking past material instead of writing/recording new material.

Sure, but as she's released only one album of new material in the last 18 years... meh!

In my dream world I've divorced a young Joni Mitchell and I'm very intimate with a 30 year old Kate Bush. oh, and I'm young too.

In my real world all I've got is time. I can wait.

The fact that they're releasing a version that INCLUDES the original two albums suggests to me that she does have something new to offer. If the songs weren't all that different to the originals then it wouldn't make sense to bundle them with the original versions of the album.

I think at least some of them will be different enough to practically be new songs.

I mean, compare the original demo version of "Why Should I Love You" to the released version that includes Prince's contributions. It's like night and day.

Plus it really doesn't take much to 'revisit' previous tracks...was her 'revised' version of 'Wuthering Heights', anything special?...a touch on the original?

Talent aside, she's just a highly privileged woman, a lazy woman, living off her success and who's long ruined her voice through smoking...just like Joni (Mitchell).

Is she needing a certain amount of money to maintain her standard of living or something?...Bertie's school fees?...who knows?

Highly privileged woman, who doesn't care much for fans...never cared much for fans...all about her art, her talent, 'the music'...I can't get excited over this...The 'Red Shoes' was definitely no masterpiece, come on orgers, see if you can reel off the names of the tracks on 'The Red Shoes...I'll wait.

The Sensual World, was average.

Now if she revisited, 'Hounds', 'Never For Ever'...I'd perk up, but not much.

I'd rather go and see Militant's band if he ever comes to the UK...(and join them on bass or keyboards).

Peace

Has her creativity dried up? The so-called "Director's Cut" gives one the impression she's cashing in. I don't want rehashed & repackaged material from her, especially after the snoozefest that was Aerial.

We're in the UK dude. Got some dates in Brum, Cardiff and Nottingham in May/June. Come jam with us anytime!

As far as Director's Cut goes..... I understand the frustrations. Of course, new material would be better. But I think this is still worthwhile. I guess we'll wait and see. Those albums needed remastering anyway, so the fact that she's done new mixes of them too is nice.

I think if we want new music from Kate, we don't have a choice but to support this project. If it gets slated and Kate feels it's not getting appreciated, she might well disappear for another decade. If people support it and she's happy with the reaction then she might be more inclined to release something new, soon.

Kate, doesn't need any excuse to disappear!..lol...I'm not quite sure if Aeriel got a good reception, I remember her doing a bit of promotion (a few magazine articles) then disappearing again!

Wow! This should be interesting. I'd still like to see NEW material w/o having 2 wait another 12 years 4 it tho. "Aerial" is absolutely beautiful, but I'd like to know/hear which songs from "Sensual World" and "Red Shoes" she's intending upon revisiting and what that will mean 4 the songs themselves? Hmmm...Love me some Kate! smile

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Her exquisite last album "Aerial" was released in 2005 and was 2 discs of new music.

If Prince could only take more time and care to craft music and songs like Kate does we might have a great album from him, too.

That's because Prince decided that he'd improve Bush's song by obliterating it:

Joey calm yourself + you're not allowed to call women 'bitches' these days...don't you know they're nurturing, compassionate beautiful angels?...all of them?... (sarcasm / on).

Yes, Sade is another one I would call 'lazy' and for the same reasons.

You know, we never rated Sade much in the UK...we are extremely amused and perplexed by americans fascination with her.

Aerial, exquisite you say?...each to their own.
