Why the fuck were half the songs they sang covers??? Don't they have enough hits? I know Prince's Halftime Set had a bunch of covers, but at least he didn't butcher them!

In short, this was a God-awful halftime show, but then again after Prince a few years ago, it was always gonna be hard to beat (Kool-aid free).

As far as I'm concerned, unless Prince is performing in the halftime show, there's no reason to watch the show or even the game at all....unless the players are playing in the nude. In honor of the occassion though, I did watch a group of men play with balls last night.....on a gay porn site on the internet.

Just heard on the radio that they got paid nothing to do the superbowl. I'm guessing they had a million(s) dollar budget-thus all the dancers. It was awful performance even for TBEP.

Interscope/A&M Records CEO Jimmy Iovine is more at fault for successfully convincing will.i.am. to make Fergie (who was only an one-time only fill-in for Kim Hill to sing hooks) a full-time member of the BEPs.

They fit the bill. They weren't good, but it wasn't completely unwatchable. I didn't really have much of an opinion of it, but I can tell you this: The Black Eyed Peas are over. Basically anyone who's played the Super Bowl since the Janet/Justin this has sunken into the depths U2 and Prince notwithstanding. I can say I'll be glad to see the Peas go. Fergie sounded like some drunk karaoke bitch howling out that rendition of Sweet Child...

My thoughts? I think all SB performances are pretty fucked up. They should just show old 3 Stooges clips or something...maybe Woody Woodpecker. Anything that doesn't involve corny ass music, which is ultimately what all SB performances are. It's like taking your dog to have his nuts cut off. There's something about the SB halftime experience that sterilizes music.

Basically, it was a karaoke performance. But that's what the BEPs are - a high-tech karaoke act.
I thought it was interesting that the biggest screams came when actual musicians showed up on stage.
But considering that the BEP are basically an electronic group with only one member that can carry a tune (Fergie), I thought they did as good as they could be expected to do.

As for the BEP...they couldn't have been syching 'cause they sounded like garbage. The audio people should be fired. Was Usher's mic even on? The visuals were the only good thing.

Dang...watching this video once more is making me mad. Mad because they used to be so great. I love this music here...but to be recognized they had to add a non-singing blond and then shoot up the pop tart charts??? Makes me sick. Now all they do is mediocre bullshit music.

I just watched it again and I truly don't think it was that bad It was entertaining.My only gripe is that they didn't include "Rock That Body" or "Meet Me Halfway" into the set but they only had 15 minutes,I think.

Wow, I loved this song then, love it now. Also Will.i.am's first solo album "Lost Change" on BBE is absolutely awesome...
