Macy Gray has announced plans to release at least two albums in 2011.

Gray, whose last album The Sellout was released in 2010, was previously known for leaving large gaps between her releases.

"I want to make a lot of records this year," Gray told Billboard. "I actually want to put out two records this year.

"I want to do a jazz record. I want to do a rock record," Gray clarified. "I have so much music in me, I'm kind of doing myself a disservice by not putting it out as fast as it comes."

Gray claimed that singers like Nina Simone, who released over 40 studio and live albums during her career, have inspired her to increase the amount of music she records.

No details about Gray's next potential album or its expected release date have been officially announced.

I love Macy Gray, but i didn't even know she released an album last year.I just heard one cut with her and Bobby Brown.

The Big album was great album unfortunately it didn't sell even with the help of Natalie Cole,Will I Am, and Justin Timberlake. That album was really overlooked i think Big is her best album to date.

Allnall

What was wrong with her last album, Sellout?

I heard one cut, (I forget the name) on one of the music channels, a remixed version, and it was HOT!! So, hearing that one cut, I am surprised that the album didnt do well....

I know to some that she is an acquired taste, but I would like to believe that the lack of sales is due to the lack of promotion for artists who fall outside the crap put out on local radio and tv...and so, outside of her avid fans, and those who frequent Prince.org, who really would know she put out new music??

Shame on me as a fan, but I only realised she had a new album out because of Prince.org..

"Big"is great....When "Finally made me happy" came out, i thought it was going to be huge and it went nowhere, really don't know how it works sometimes

Harlepolis

I'd love to hear George Clinton producing a whole album for her, with appearances from the likes of Jesse Johnson.

Its no wonder why "The Id" was the most enjoyable album she came up with. She could really be funky if she was surrounded with the right musicians.

I remember a few years ago when Badu announced she was releasing 3 cds that year. We got one.

Big plans don't always come true.

I liked her first 2 cd's, but lost interest after that. She definitely is an interesting artist and certainly doesn't get by from lip syncing and shaking her ass!

Good luck Macy!
