I just read Exposé's Wikipedia page. Another fine musical act destroyed by Clive Davis' meddling. I should've put 2 and 2 together long ago...they were on Arista.sad

That why I say they should Behind The Music, its been a long time and their story needs to be told

OMG Nooooooooo not EXPOSE. I'm in high school in NJ all over again. shake

I'm not a fan, never been, but if I had to pick one that I did kind of like would be "Let Me Be The One".

That one chick always looked kinda dude-ish to me. boxed

LOL if you mean Gioia, the dark-haired, raspy-voiced one who does lead on "Let Me Be The One". I used to say the same thing, though she's clearly no man! She is bi-sexual, however...wink

Giola is the best singer in the group. She sings her ass off on "Let Me Be The One".She's got a strong, soulful voice.

Yes,it was Clive Davis who decided that they should go in a "adult contemporary direction" on the third album. This is when their sales began to decline. The music was watered down in an attempt to compete with Wilson Phillips. He really screwed things up.

^^I've been wondering about Lewis Martinee's whereabouts myself. He founded the group, and initially hired three different girls. There's even a version of their original recording of Point of No Return on Youtube. He wrote all of the fiirst two albums, and I believe he contributed a little to the third one as well.

He did a song on Jermaine Jackson's Don't Take It Personal album called Feel The Need.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Does anyone remember the orignal 1985 version of "Point Of No Return" when the group consisted of three other girls? I bet these ladies were pissed when they were fired and replaced.

Yep I mentioned the group originally consisted of three different girls. From what I've read, there are several accounts of what happened to that line-up, from them being fired for not having the right star quality, to each of the girls quitting to pursue solo careers. They sang backup for Will To Power for a brief time, and also had brief solo things. The girl who did the lead on this version of Point of No Return, Ale Lorenzo, died a few years ago.

Yes her. lol

I never actually thought she could be a guy, just that she has "strong" features.

Gioia just added me as a Facebook friend, and when I thanked her and told her how much I've been jamming to Let Me Be The One lately, she said that she had just finished recording a remix of the song.
