I actually think the one prediction that will come true is the cancelation of "American Idol". lol Then again they can always excuse something to keep it up for another season. lol

Yeah...it should've been cancelled a minute ago...but as long as it generates some kind of positive ratings, Fox is going 2 keep it on. See: "The Simpsons"... Love that show, but haven't seen any new episodes in years. I really don't think it's about the music anymore on A.I., but was it ever? neutral Not necessarily.

Couple days late but everybody make your predictions for this year. I'll start:

-- Lauryn Hill's foolishness will continue. No new album, just random rants and bizzare antics whenever she decides to pop up.

Yep

-- Kanye West will be arrested.

Nope

-- Justin Bieber will begin to fade in the second half of the year and be considered completely washed up by Christmas.

Maybe

-- Miley Cyrus will be arrested.

Hopefully

-- Jermaine or Randy will be caught stealing money from someplace. It will most likely have something to do with Michael.

-- Lady Gaga's era will be a success, not as big as The Fame but will still be a big deal. (Kinda like Beyonce DIL/B-Day)

Probably

-- Katy Perry, The Black Eyed Peas, and Ke$ha will all be irrelevant by August.

hmm

-- Nicki Minaj will have a 'Young Money' sextape.

Gotta keep the money coming someway

-- Britney's era will be a solid hit, right on par with/exceed Circus.

Probably

-- A black male artist will come out the closet and claim to be the first to embrace his homosexuality openly for the world to see.

What else is new

-- Chris Brown will be able to get radio hits but will struggle to move albums.

People still care about him

-- Beyonce gets pregnant this year. New album will not be the hit IASF was, won't contain a smash a la Single Ladies but will still be a solid hit. Will announce the pregnancy shortly after sales are considered to be dissapointing.

-- American Idol will finally be canceled.

Duh

-- Shania Twain's comeback will be strong.

-- Nas will release his greatest work yet and garner more critical acclaim than even Illmatic. Sales, however, will be underwhelming.

What about Bee, Shania, & Nas?

OK, as an industry insider, I'll shed some light for ya.

Lauryn has been working on her new album for 6 months. I can't tell you anything else about it, but I'll let you know that I'm EXCITED. My source? We have the same management, and I spent New Years at his house catching up on what's new with all the other artists he represents. Can't say anything else about Lauryn, and I don't know that the album will come out this year, but almost certainly before the end of 2012.

Don't expect anything from Shania any time soon. Her ex-husband, super producer Mutt Lange was running the show with regards to her career for the majority of the last 20 years. If (not when) she decides to make more music, she has to rethink her whole gameplan and find a ton of new people to work with. And there aren't many people on Mutt's level. My source? My first cousins, Simon and Diamond Duggal, co-produced her last album "Up!" and spent a year living in Shania and Mutt's house in Switzerland making it.

The Black Eyed Peas will almost certainly NOT be irrelevant. They've sold far too many records and they tour far too much for that to even be possible. You know they tour the entire world more than ANY other band, right? They go places where 90% of contemporary artists never even go and still sell out arenas. Love 'em or hate 'em, these cats work HARD. People really underestimate the Peas and their fanbase for some reason. A close friend was their tour manager for a LONG time and has nothing but great things to say about them and their work ethic. Based on their new album, I predict at least another 4 hits from it.

The BEPs are also performing the 2011 NFL SuperBowl Halftime Show.

Oh ok.

I'm not good with predictions at all but here we go:

Kanye West and Jay-Z's duet album will not be received as well and if there's a tour, it may not even make the stage.

Ciara will announce her retirement.

None of the former American Idol contestants will have success with their subsequent albums.

Lady Gaga will have a big year, but question is how big will it be compared to 2009 and last year.

Ke$ha would get into some kind of scandal.

Janet will announce a new album by the end of the year.

Nicki Minaj will overstay her welcome.

Aretha Franklin will release "A Woman Falling Out of Love" and continue to perform into her autumn years (in other words...SHE WON'T DIE ANYTIME SOON). As for the movie, look for more delays.

Dr. Dre will NOT release "Detox" this year (or next year, or the year after that, or the year after that lol ).

Florence Ballard's movie will not be released this year.

Justin Bieber will already reach a crossroads around this time since he'll be 18 next year and growth is always difficult with child performers.

Stevie Wonder will (hopefully) release his new album this year.

Donna Summer will release her new dance album and will be announced as one of the inductees of the 2012 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by December.

Patti LaBelle will finally drop her album this year but Def Scam may not promote it lol

The Jacksons will officially call it a day and focus on their singular careers from now on.

Chaka Khan will make plans to release a new album this year.

Whitney Houston will finally work on her vocals and stop fooling around.

Christina Aguilera will take a break for a while.

Mariah Carey will finally leave the shit-hop and finally do something worthwhile.

Let me analyze those smile

Kanye and Jay Z i agree, i think something EGOwise is gonna go down, we cant forget that him and R kelly had issues when they were "together"

Ciara, will this girl for some reason im start to like her because everyone is dumping on her for really a reason that everyone agrees on, no one sells, i dont get the issue with her, but i dont like her music, but i think if she needs anything, its to leave this country promo wise

Totally agree on the AI thing, who the hell won the last one? where did he go? and the runner up is nothing but a joke, though some talent, he is nothing but a joke

Gaga will drop in sales its only natural, i mean look at Alanis Morrisette and Hootie and the Blowfish after they blew the doors off

Kesha i just hope gets into a scandal where they find out she doesnt even sing the bad songs she has

Janet i think might, depending on the tour and IF it comes off without incidents

Nicki Minaj i have decided that although she is annoying and everywhere SHE IS ALOT better to look at than the last 2 really annoying collabo artists, TPAIN and AKON, so i will take Nicki over them anyday.

Aretha i just pray has good health first and foremost

Dr. Dre is a done deal at this point, its becoming like the Axl Rose of Rap

Justin B is finished climbing, the fall is here, lets see how he deals with it

Stevie Im hoping, he needs a masterpiece, its time to get that throne back

And Mariah, well, i have been praying for the "midtempo" guest rapper ship of hers to sail and i think NOW at 41 and with child, she might start to embrace some roots of music, like Aretha and others and go for some strong records and forget "whos hot" at the moment to work with, BUT, i still think she will be playing up the sexy side of herself, she aint gonna cut that.

LOL I haven't watched since the night they kicked Melinda DooLittle off (Season 6) when she was CLEARLY the best singer. I was so pissed I said the hell with the whole thing. And I was a HUGE AI fanatic.

I don't know who anyone is beyond Season 6. I've seen some of their pics, like the boy that looks like Eddie Monster and another one but I seriously don't pay attention to them.

Prince Harry goes batshit after an all-night meth session and forms a punk rock band called The Sweaty Loins Of Artemis. Renaming himself 'Dirty Harry', he appears on The David Letterman Show to explain how an existential crisis led him into posting pictures of his scrotum on Facebook, and The Sweaty Loins Of Artemis go on to release a controversial single called 'Living In My Dead Granny's Fanny' that is subsequently banned from all Walmart and Tesco outlets and discontinued by EMI after a limited vinyl and CD pressing.

Which it will do...... better format then AI ....and the US needs the 2nd and 3rd places making music as AI has shown they have more talent....and last longer than the winners...wink

Speaking of Kanye and Jay- Z I feel the single they have is just alright they can do so much better than that. It will sell because of their names alone so they won’t have to worry about that but I know both of them solo wise will be better than them together

Simon Cowell fools millions into voting when really he just signs whoever he likes, to me that makes a mockery of the whole process. XFactor is pure karaoke, at times with some autotune and the contestents pre-recorded backing vocals. AI at least has a live band, some genuine vocal talent, and a varied songlist than encompasses genres other than generic pop. It's a far more respectable show.

I don't think AI is going anywhere yet. The reason why I say that is because their ratings were so ridiculously high to begin with that they've got a long way to fall before they reach cancellation levels. Plus, with as many people as hated Kara DiWhatever and like Steven Tyler and J-Lo, it's possible they'll see a slight uptick this season.

Haven't they only been signed for the one season though? If it continues losing ratings the likes of J-Lo won't want her brand associated with failure and the show will be in the doldrums, especially so if XFactor does well. I can see the British and American shows eventually merging if that's the case, and there'll be like a global XFactor with the pantomime villain Cowell smirking at the success of his land-grab.

American Idol will probably survive for another year (but I give it 2 years before cancellation) The reformat of the show to resemble the "real world" show is a good idea to change direction-since Simon left. (Not that I like watching fake reality drama.)

As for AI acts like Carrie Underwood and Kelly C. will continue to sale their CDs.

Prince will have another CD release in the USA. Will be in the top 10 USA charts.

Keshia will continue to sell less with each CD release. (Will only be able to sell singles for a song here and there and disappear to reality TV.) dancing jig

Keshia and Rhianna both tied for the worst live popular acts around.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment

I don't think Patti is on Def Jam. I thought her Christmas album fulfilled her contract. Her gospel album was an independent project, but distributed by Def Jam.

Couple days late but everybody make your predictions for this year. I'll start:

-- Lauryn Hill's foolishness will continue. No new album, just random rants and bizzare antics whenever she decides to pop up.

-- Kanye West will be arrested.

-- Justin Bieber will begin to fade in the second half of the year and be considered completely washed up by Christmas.

-- Miley Cyrus will be arrested.

-- Jermaine or Randy will be caught stealing money from someplace. It will most likely have something to do with Michael.

-- Lady Gaga's era will be a success, not as big as The Fame but will still be a big deal. (Kinda like Beyonce DIL/B-Day)

-- Katy Perry, The Black Eyed Peas, and Ke$ha will all be irrelevant by August.

-- Nicki Minaj will have a 'Young Money' sextape.

-- Britney's era will be a solid hit, right on par with/exceed Circus.

-- A black male artist will come out the closet and claim to be the first to embrace his homosexuality openly for the world to see.

-- Chris Brown will be able to get radio hits but will struggle to move albums.

-- Beyonce gets pregnant this year. New album will not be the hit IASF was, won't contain a smash a la Single Ladies but will still be a solid hit. Will announce the pregnancy shortly after sales are considered to be dissapointing.

-- American Idol will finally be canceled.

-- Shania Twain's comeback will be strong.

-- Nas will release his greatest work yet and garner more critical acclaim than even Illmatic. Sales, however, will be underwhelming.

I can ONLY predict that every act on this list will continue 2 bore me 2 tears.

Thank goodness 4 Prince and Mint Condition.

cool thumbs up! And hoping Prince will soon bring the Welcome 2 America tour to lots more States in 2011
