I don't think she's doing smaller venues. I heard the word "intimate" and thought that too, but I think most of the stops will probably be the usual arenas. Verizon Center in D.C. was PACKED when she played it two years ago during the RWU tour.

I think she was going to play smaller venues due to her sales for the RW tour. Her "people" might not want to take that chance again

She's doing smaller venues but for major cities like LA and NYC she will do stadium shows because it will sell-out without a doubt!

I see. I'm anxious to see how this tour will go. Should be fascinating.

I just saw the video. It'll be a 35-city world tour of the fans' choosing so that can mean any city anywhere in the world.

Well, I just hope that means a venue near me! Why do my favorites suddenly want to tour at the same time?! My pockets are going to be empty! razz lol

What do you guys think about Janet playing Catwoman in the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight Rises" Do you think she could pull it off? There's already buzz about this one being based on the graphic novel, "Prey", in which Catwoman appears. I think it would be good if she could at least audition for Christopher Nolan. It would be really cool if she gets the part and then go on to play Eartha Kitt. They're scheduled to start shooting May 2011.

Of course this is all contingent on Christopher even bringing Catwoman into his series. Nobody usually knows for sure until much later in filming or closer to the release date. He plays his cards close to his vest when it comes to his films.

I think that would be awesome, and a complete 180 from the roles she's usually played.

she has vertigo, i have it myself and when im having a episode there really is nothing i can do except lay in the bed with the lights off and my eyes closed. maybe she will space her shows out where she wont have to do more than 1 or maybe 2 shows in a week.

If Janet has "vertigo" Why is it just now making a appearance? She has toured mega dates in the past....

PURRR-FECT casting idea! There is no better actress to play CATWOMAN. Janet IS already catwoman in so many ways. In my opinion, Eartha Kitt is the best CATWOMAN to this date, and probably only Janet could top her performance. I'm not dissing any of them, Newmar and Michelle P were great, but aint nobody like Janet. Catwoman is one of the many roles that Janet was seemingly born to play. I hope this is true. If not, listen up Nolans - pick Janet - no audition necessary.

She can't. She was born a Jackson, she looks like one, talks like one and is one of the famous names/faces on the planet. So it will be hard for her to get out of "Jackson mode". But I'm confident that she can play bigger and much deeper roles. Catwoman isn't one of them. Catwoman needs a younger woman and I just can't see Janet playing her. I can see Janet portraying Eartha Kitt, though. She would do a good job. All she needs is a few acting lessons to have more range and some voice lessons.

Awww, midiscover. Come on... I usually enjoy what you write - I figured we'd be on the same page.

At first I was upset because Halle Berry got CATWOMAN, but then I saw that movie.

I would much rather see Janet as Catwoman than Janet as Storm. Let's be serious - only the best get to be in BATMAN films. I feel in many aspects CATWOMAN would be arguably the best role she could land in her acting career thus far, and also the PERFECT fit for the BATMAN film.

No one else can move like Janet. Janet, throughout much of her public career, has acted much like a silent movie actress - often at times speaking loudest with her look and movement. Janet is much more than a mere singer/dancer for a reason.

CATWOMAN, if anything like the 1960s portrayal, IS attitude - much like that of Janet's angry/sexy serious look in many of her videos. The latest JOKER was much like the 1960s Joker, so...

Additionally, CATWOMAN would best not be played by a "young" actress - as she is a mature character. Either way, Janet does not look like her age.

since i experienced it for the 1st time a couple years ago i assume its not something you are born with. all i know is i was dizzy, my head was pounding and i passed out, the dr diagnosed it as vertigo and since he has the degree i took his word for it.

Righttt. You can't be this easy to persuade confused did you believe her when she said that she cancelled the Europe leg of the AFY tour due to 9/11 as well? What about the "economic recession" for the Japan leg of the RWU tour? If you've been a fan for a long time you should know by now that Janet tends to do certain things if it doesn't go her way. She wasn't selling tickets like she used, she didn’t like it so she backed out.

why would somebody need to persuade me if they say they are sick? what does having a bout of vertigo have to do with this other stuff? somebody commented about janet having dizzy spells and headaches, and they wondered if she should be touring, i commented that she said it was vertigo and she could probably tour if she spaced the shows better. i didnt mention nothing about the last tour or why she cancelled.

I tend to think the vertigo was real. After all, years of doing moves like this have to rattle your brain around a little...

I definately don't think she cancelled the European leg of the AFY tour for lack of ticket sales. She was still selling albums and concert tickets like hotcakes back then, and it really would have been pretty scary flying across the world during those early times of U.S. terrorism.

Eh

1. The whole vertigo debacle was a fake excuse just as the "sick" excuse she used to bail out of SNL just to bait LA Reid and also the economical recession being the reason for cancelling the Japan leg of the Rock Wit U Tour. Janet has been doing that 'head bang' move since forever so I highly doubt that would all of a sudden give her vertigo in fucking 2008. Hell, when she went back on the road after being "sick" she did that same move with no problem whatsoever.

2. Janet cancelled the European leg of the AFY tour due to low ticket sales. The 9/11 excuse is so lame rolleyes Many acts were on the road at the time and didn't have any issues. Oh and let's nevermind the fact she flew to Japan and Hawaii in early 2002. rolleyes

Love Janet but let's not entertain her lies. Seriously lol

Nah. The Velvet Rope tour began overseas and was a big success there. I don't think the timespan was that long from the VR tour to the AFY tour to warrant the European crowd suddenly not buying tickets. But, who knows?

And? She sold 20 million albums worldwide in '93-'94 only to sell half of that amount 3-4 years later. She cancelled that leg of the tour due to low ticket sales. Case closed. Now if she had handled the situation differently. I'm sure she wouldn't have lost her international base the way she did.
