What you aren't counting Jermaine's own Tribute concert in Vegas?

I would rather see a Tribute show at the 5 year mark and run by the estate, not the family, and see it more like the Freddy Mercury tribute concert.

Jermaine need to focus on his own shit.

I'm with bboy, there ain't gonna be no tribute concert for Michael.

Like I said people didn’t really go all out for Michael last year they didn’t do a big one then they won’t do it now.

When I hear of Jermaine's plans, I keep saying "What?"

Like, I'm sure Vienna and Gambia are nice places, but for a major concert tribute?

If it was me planning the show, I would have it at either

Dodgers Stadium in LA

Wembley Stadium in Wembley

George Duke

Stevie Wonder

Mariah Carey

Robbie Williams

Annie Lennox

Paul McCartney (yeah, I know, it might be impossible lol)

Sean Lennon

Jamiroquai

Black Eyed Peas

Alicia Keys

Beyonce (because you know she would have to be a part of it)

Kanye West

David Bowie

Kenny Loggins

Michael McDonald

Usher

Janet Jackson

Rebbie Jackson

Maxwell

Craig David

Celine Dion

If David Guest could get them for the 30th Anniversary show - they'd be shoe ins for this.

I'd rather see a tribute CD than a concert at this stage. Artists covering his classic songs - just imagine it.

No Doubt - Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'

Prince - Workin' Day n Night (was tempted to say BAD, lol)
Justin Timberlake - Rock With You
John Mayer - Human Nature
Mariah - Butterflies
BlackStreet - Remember The Time
Stevie Wonder - Jam
Beyonce - Man in the Mirror
N.E.R.D. - Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
Usher - PYT
Rihanna - The Way You Make Me Feel
Kanye West - They Don't Care About Us

Trent Reznor - Scream

Slash & Fall Out Boy - Black or White

Alicia Keys - Stranger in Moscow

Erykah Badu - Who Is It

Ne-Yo - Lady In My Life

The day Beyonce RUINS "Man In The Mirror" will be the day music not only dies but goes to hell with no chance of returning. (Ooops aren't we already there?) Well, just saying that would be AWFUL.

I really like Trent doing "Scream" though and Prince doing...well anything. lol

As for "Black or White" - I'd prefer a female do that song with Slash, or even...(surprise)

Lenny Kravitz do it with him. wink

All and all, a Michael tribute CD is a great idea. I just know for the hardcore fans it would

end up just reminding us..how big Michael's absence is in the music-world.

On a happier note...DAMN I'm excited for Vision. biggrin

Please dont let Rihanna anywhere near that damn concert, the thought hurts my feelings!

I love N.E.R.D,but I dont think Pharrell's voice could handle that song,Shae will stand there doing nothing,Chad wont show up,and Famlay will get wasted on stage!eek

I'd probably sit in the audience an boo John Mayer, because I really dont like John Mayer!mad

I dont mind Erykah, but I would like her to sing a different song.

In my head I see her performing "Who is It" with the lights dim and only an acoustic guitar,

and I cant see myself really enjoying that.confused

Thats just my opinion!cool

If those two sang those songs this tribute concert would be the ultimate rage inducing thing I have ever come across. Beyonce can sing, but if you are going to give her that song, might as well just let the computer sing it. Also, Rhianna should not be singing anything. Period. I would not mind Alicia Keys doing Earth Song though. Hmm...then again... Christina Aguilera would probably be a good option as well since she's got the vocal chops for execute any song and I thought that she did a pretty good job with her James Brown tribute.

You know who would probably be the one person contributing to the tribute that you don't have listed here? Celine Dion. She loves & looked up to him and would probably be eager to participate. I would hope if they do a tribute that they would get more international artists. He was still really big the world over and I'm more than certain many of them would be honored to sing any of his songs.

Speaking of Celine Dion loving Michael Jackson:

The Jacksons been in the game for nearly 50 years and they haven't figured out how to play the game yet. This is really embarrassing. Especially when even the parents don't even know what the fuck they're doing. I think only the sisters are smart enough to do anything but the brothers and parents would probably mess things up. But SEE, Queen had thought it out what they were going to do with a tribute to Freddie beforehand. They also dedicated the concert to saving lives affected with HIV so whatever proceeds went into that concert not only preserve the memory of Freddie but also went to AIDS prevention foundations. The Jacksons could donate any proceeds of a tribute concert to Michael's favorite children's organizations or whatever but they haven't done what Queen did. Plus I doubt because of egos they would ever reunite to perform for their brother. That family acts a little nutso sometimes I don't trust many of them.

Yeah, I know what you are saying. But even if they organized it that well, I am not sure I´d bother watching. I woulnd´t care to see any of the currect artist do his hits. I´d be very surprised if the performances were that great.

I find it sad that point of views like these are hardly ever seen on MJ sites. Most of the time, fans see nothing wrong with what the family is doing. You should see how their boneheaded projects are always supported by the fans. If Joe today announced he was putting the kids on the cover of the National Enquirer for an exclusive interview, alot of the fans wouldn't have a problem with it. Just recently on 1 site I was on, alot of fans bended over backwards to excuse away the family letting Oprah interview the kids. Thank God, that rumor looks to be false.

Yeah, it´s weird that Taj apologized that he found out the kids were interviewed, but so far there hasn´t been anything announced about that. We´ll see.

Nice to see my Tribute album idea got some tractions, some love some hate but ain't that always the way with covers. I just thought of who would do an interesting cover of a MJ track and make it their own rather than just do a play by the numbers.

No Doubt - Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'

Prince - Workin' Day n Night (was tempted to say BAD, lol)
Justin Timberlake - Rock With You
John Mayer - Human Nature
Mariah - Butterflies
BlackStreet - Remember The Time
Stevie Wonder - Jam
Beyonce - Man in the Mirror
N.E.R.D. - Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
Usher - PYT
Rihanna - The Way You Make Me Feel
Kanye West - They Don't Care About Us

Trent Reznor - Scream

Slash & Fall Out Boy - Black or White

Alicia Keys - Stranger in Moscow

Erykah Badu - Who Is It

Ne-Yo - Lady In My Life

So it got me thinking - who has already done a cover on an album (not live).

So far I am thinking of:

The Bates: Billie Jean

Chris Cornell: Billie Jean

Supergrass: Beat It

Fall Out Boy: Beat It

Ian Brown: Thriller

Alien Ant Farm: Smooth Criminal

Mariah Carey: I'll Be There

Miles Davis: Human Nature

there must be others - but that's the ones I know right off the top of my head.

Add yours...

Court rejects Michael Jackson father's appeal

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A California appeals court rejected a bid Tuesday by Michael Jackson's father to challenge the administration of his son's lucrative estate.

A three-justice panel of the California Second District Court of Appeal unanimously affirmed a probate judge's ruling that Joe Jackson didn't have standing to intervene in his son's estate.

A copy of the opinion was not immediately available.

Despite being excluded from his son's 2002 will, Joe Jackson had been seeking to have some control over financial affairs.

Estate attorney Howard Weitzman said he was pleased the court affirmed the pop star's wishes to make John Branca and John McClain executors of his will.

"We hope this decision finally puts this issue to rest," Weitzman said.

Brian Oxman, Joe Jackson's attorney, said the father should have some say in post-death affairs involving his son.

"This is not right," Oxman said of Tuesday's ruling.

The appeals court heard arguments in the estate case on Oct. 6. The panel questioned several steps taken by Joe Jackson in the case, including withdrawing his request for a monthly stipend.

The panel also questioned why Oxman didn't mention during a lengthy hearing in November that he might file a wrongful death lawsuit. Last June, Joe Jackson sued Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician charged with involuntary manslaughter in Michael Jackson's death.

Michael Jackson's estate has earned tens of millions of dollars since the singer's death in June 2009 at age 50 in Los Angeles.

I wonder why this family can't get things done like other families. They just seem incompetent at everything. They're biggest showbiz family of all time and they can't pull off a tribute concert? It's embarrassing.

The Jacksons been in the game for nearly 50 years and they haven't figured out how to play the game yet. This is really embarrassing. Especially when even the parents don't even know what the fuck they're doing. I think only the sisters are smart enough to do anything but the brothers and parents would probably mess things up. That's why there won't be no tribute concerts.

those of us old enuf to remember the mess that was the victory tour, got a glimpse into who joe, katherine, and the brothers were then. strictly bush league and totally exploitive of mj. the best decision mj ever made was to professionally disconnect from them.

since then a lot of other ish has gone down, little of it good, involving the family - the so. korean lawsuit, family honors, word to the baad - so what legit business person in their right mind would put money behind any projects involving the jackson family?
