Written by Chuckki as sort of as consolation prize. He had originally written, "Turned Away", for them but, his record company said no, keep it. He felt bad and wrote, "Spread My Wings", as a way of making it up to them.

^ Interesting.

The original version of the song definitely had a sound very similar to "Turned Away" but they felt with the competition being Guy and 'em, he remixed it and added a hip-hop flavor to it and there you go. biggrin

OK, scratch that, I just learned hip-hop producer Clark Kent remixed the version that became a hit. lol smile

One of my favorite R&B vocal groups from the 80's. Spread My Wings is one of their best. I've always felt that this group didn't get their due during their time. They were always big but not huge. If you know what I mean. The funny thing is, is that most of these guys could really blow. (At least 3 out of 5 could). According to my cousin, they were never heart-throbs. The girls weren't exactly swooned by their looks. Chuckii broke them off with a nice joint with SMW.

They were not only great singers but great dancers. I think a reason why they may not have been "swooned over" like, say, New Edition, maybe because their music wasn't bubblegum and NE started off like that hence the difference in people's reactions. They did attract some attention from the girls though. I know they went crazy when they went into their version of "All I Do Is Think of You".

I've never cared too much for the song but I do remember this song was about two years or so before I came out of the closet to myself but I remember being rock hard looking at those motherfuckers on the rooftop in that video. lol

The song is HAWT though. Funny thing is someone can blow, but have to sing the right songs.

My favorite part of the video is when they all drop on their knees! Oh man looks like that shit musta HURT.

Now I know I don't have to fly *BAM goes the knee caps*

Too far! dancing jig

At the time we didn't know any better, but I don't anyone working that hard anymore. I mean those steps/moves would be considered over the top by today's standards.

A stone cold classic! It's all about the Clark Kent remix, though. Attitude is a great album.
