She looks real pretty in the cover. She definitely suits those wigs and looks way better than Gaga.

But I'm disappointed with the song. The verses are alright. The chorus is fun but it's missing something.

Verdict: It's not as catchy as California Girls.

I feel the same way. It's an ok choice for a single, but I'm not sure if it will catch on like "California Gurls".

Yeah for some reason i find more what im looking for in Starbucks (musically) then when im in a so called music retailer like Best Buy, I had to get the John Mellencamp at Starbucks because Best Buy hadnt heard of him? I cant wait to see how long it takes me to find the new Heart cd today at Best Buy. As for Katy i like her, and its a pretty good album, she doesnt really take herself to seriously, but she actually has talent and can sing.

It's one of the best, if not the best, mainstream pop album of the year.

And that "I wanna see your peacock" song is really catchy. The killer is, listen to it in surround sound. You'll never look at the album the same way again.

fun track!! i'm curious about the rest of the album. haven't gotten around to checking it out yet.

a friend gave me her "One Of The Boys" album and i thought it was pretty decent. best song off of it for me is "Thinking Of You". i like her. more power to her. biggrin

I beg to differ regarding her singing talent. She is always off-key and screechy in her live performances - in fact, she's pretty terrible. And that's just while standing there.

I heart this song. I thought her first album was actually pretty good considering that I wasn't expecting it to be since I hated 'I Kissed A Girl' but loved all the other singles from it. I like Katy's personality from interviews I've seen of her and her sophomore album singles thus far have made me like her more so I'm a fan now. Waiting on Lady Gaga's official sophomore album (don't consider "Monster's Ball" an offical sophomore album, sorry) to render my verdict on her because her first album really did nothing for me. It wasn't terrible but still not seeing the greatness that millions of other people see. I think they got distracted by the image which seems to be the case with music over the past few years. Seems people buy music more with their eyes than their ears but that's just my own personal opinion.

lol Sorry, I was having a reflective moment. I had rented both of their albums from the library on the same day last year and was expecting soo much from Lady Gaga's and soo little from Katy's only to realize that I enjoyed Katy's waay more than Gaga's (surprised even me). They both

write their catchy pop songs and they both play instruments (Katy plays cello, piano, guitar, and the baritone) but I've heard people give more credit and praise to Gaga when I don't really see how she's any better than Katy, but that's just me. Either way, they are both getting their kudos after years of struggling to make it so more power to artists who see the importance of doing more than just singing on their albums. nod

lol Well like I said in another thread i'm a borderline gaga stan but i'm not going to force her on you i'm not that type of stan lol but I understand if you don't get her hype. She's not doing anything new but she is refreshing I feel . I think overall gaga is the better artist but her and katy both the same shit.lol

lol No worries. I love your Tupac avatar btw. mushy I appreciate Lady Gaga's live acoustic performances more than the videos (fantastic voice on this woman) and I do absolutely love the bubble dress...seriously, I'm obsessed with it and if she left it unattended, I would soo take it and run. boxed She's definitely refeshing to the music industry and her confidence is very empowering. nod

Aww thanks lol and Yes hopefully her next album will show some growth even though she will probably still stick to the catchy pop records because it's doing well for her lol.

I made a thread with the album tracks in it a few weeks ago:

I got bored of it pretty quick, she just needs to release E.T, that'll be a mega hit.
