Thats hilarious. Then you gonna accuse the fans. If the pictures were photoshopped then where are the originals?

The fans didnt take them fool, the paps did. The paps don't even give a damn enough to wanna photoshop some pictures.

neutral the things people do to keep from admitting they were wrong.

Your Mama! flipped off

Look i'm sorry I called you a B I just have never understood why people have to make up blantant lies about Michael or his family. It's not that serious.

I got it for Christmas and have been considering putting it on Amazon along with Nelson George's book. And I agree, I'm okay with constructive criticism, but when it gets to the point where it's condescending or insulting, or flat out wrong? yeah....off with that

I might trade those in and replace them with the new book coming out "The Man In The Music" lol

As a prince fan i get really offended when people compare MJ to Prince, i mean how can you. MJ was a wiered dancer who couldnt play any instruments or write his own songs. He was puppet and Quincy Jones was his master. I know this isnt an official P site (Thank God for that) but serious Why the fark do we even have an MJ thread????????????????????????. I get the whole freedom of speach thing but do you think MJ sites have a Prince thread?????????

MJ did write some of his own songs. And they were big time hits. Although MJ did not play an instrument, he had an unconventional way of relaying what he wanted played, and how he envisioned the music to sound - he did this with vocal sounds (some liken it to beat boxing but dont think of Dougie Fresh or Biz Markie).

I think folks have a MJ thread on a Prince fan site because when I was growing up...both men were unstoppable. And there was no one who could touch either of them. They both like canceled each other out in terms of greatness. Although Prince and MJ's styles were very different, neither was more talented than the other (in my book) they were both geniuses in their own right. Till this day...no one is greater than either of them.

In addition, both men shared the same audience. During the 80's....many of MJ's fans were also Prince fans...and visa versa.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

Lemme help you out

Michael DID write his own songs. Not all of them, but he wrote many of them.

He was not Quincy's puppet. He was Quincy's protege. Quincy saw a kid who had extraordinary talent but was holding back (which he was) and helped him bring it out, which is what a producer should do.

Are there Prince threads on MJ sites? YES and many infact. The Mj forums I frequent have Prince fans and Prince threads in the non MJ sections and are pretty positive

Let me say this, in the music industry, it's not always about being a one man band. People have different talents. There's people who can write great songs but can't sing. There's people who play instruments but can't sing or write songs, and there's people who can sing but can't write or play instruments. Some of the best music has always been the result of a collaborative effort. It's always been about that. Everybody has different talents and skills

Great collection Bboy. I have always hoped that Sony/Legacy would do a singles collection box set of MJ with each individual single from his Sony solo careers released on CD singles as originally released either as 7" or 12" versions as they were initially released.

Yeah, he wrote more for them, there's some songs he wrote with Lionel Richie for LaToya that have yet to be released

Apparently, he also did some stuff with Rod Temperton (who wrote Rock With You, Thriller, Lady In My Life) before he passed. Not sure how true that is, but since they've been finding more and more songs he recorded in the past 9 years almost every day, it's possible

nod

I would love for Motown to do it also. They would mix some of the single versions differently. The single mix of Who's Loving You, Mama's Pearl, Take Me Back, and Maybe Tomorrow are a couple of examples

Like you said there should be no comparison. Not because they weren't on each other's level, but rather a comparison is something subjective and already tainted by your own bias. Also doing so robs you of enjoying the great music that both artists produced.

You state MJ couldn't play any instruments, but this is factually in correct. He could play a few instruments - piano, guitar and drums. Sure it's not on the Prince multi-instrumentalist level but then again that is a weak comparison.

You claim Quincy was his master - then how do you explain the "master" not wanting to include Billie Jean on Thriller because he didn't like the bassline? And how do you explain Michael's continued success post Bad?

And why do we need an MJ thread? Well because this is under the music-nonprince section, and many fans like myself enjoy discussing all the artists we appreciate. And for the record, yes MJ sites have Prince threads.

As I have often stated, many people bought into the whole "one or the other" argument fostered by the media in the 80s to sell stuff. They always do it with successful artists that hit at the same time. And again, in my opinion, not exposing yourself to the music of both artists really does rob you of some great music.

After all, even Prince has paid tribute to Michael and given him props throughout his career and enjoyed covering his songs (Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, Billie Jean, Shake Your Body Down for example) or pumping up the audience prior to his shows by spinning an MJ track or two.

But thankfully for you, this is just one thread on a whole site dedicated to Prince and music. So if you aren't keen on discussing MJ's music - that's cool, there are hundred of other threads for you to read in peace.

But hey, thanks for stopping by.

Like I said in the above statement... black people feel different about Michael. I personally belive that he was definitely trying to escape his blackness. I have seen no celebrity chistle their nose down to a nub. Sorry, not Janet...Not Beyonce...Nobody. Nor have I seen any black person put a cleft in their chin, and chistle out their jawbone...and do god knows whatelse he did. As I mentioned earlier, my opinion is based on more than just the "skin lightening". The adopted kids with no evidence of any sort of biological ties to Africa....please. Nobody can make me believe differently, just like I'm sure that nobody can change your opinion on the matter.

I heard that Debbie Rowe had a miscarriage before Prince was born.

There's a video on youtube where debbie talks about it.

Thanks so much for posting this. I´ve never seen it.

Here are other rare videos of her talking about Mike and the kids. She speaks of them as his children and says that he is their father and I mean someone dare to say she´s lying. The way she speaks about it all, it´s obvious she truly loves Michael and just wanted to do this for him.

Here she says again, he´s their dad. They are specifically asking her if Klein is the biological father and she just says "he´s dead."

Here they ask her again and she just says they are looking for fame

http://www.tmz.com/videos/?mediaKey=07f34bb0-aafc-4c46-9e1a-b75671bb16b4&isShareURL=true

She has stated many times that he was their father and I will always believe her spoken word over some stupid article. If anyone has a footage of her claiming otherwise, post it.

it would make sense considering how Prince and Paris came about. You know what I mean.

Maybe Debbie was incapable of having a successful pregnancy with Michael.

I think blanket is his biological kid, and he got some surrogate to deliver the kid.

I'll have to see what happens with Blanket as he gets older. So far, I've only seen photoshopped pictures which try and make his eyes look more like Michaels, and try to make it seem that he has Vitiligro (eventhouth the family has spoken out and denied that he has vitiligro). What they did to Michael, they are now doing to Blanket as far as taking outrageous pictures, and photoshopping etc. I know Michael would be doing 360's in his grave if he knew that his son (whether biological or not) was being exploited by some of his fans, and the tabloids via photoshopping and taking sneak pictures of the boy while he's in the water on vacation just to prove to themselves and others that he's MJ's biological.

I see why Michael made them wear masks. But that also was very unhealthy for them. Unfortunately they will just have to be strong and deal with the B.S. But thus far, I haven't seen any credible pictures that make me think that Blanket is his son. I think this is something that we will never really know for sure. I think the speculation will go on for an eternity.

I am sorry but you just keep on chatterbox without ever proving your point. Post a video of someone denying it.

The Girl Is Mine (from Thriller)- it's funny, this song was #2 on the pop chart, #1 on the R&B chart, and #8 in the UK, and I rarely hear people say they like this song lol and I'm one of them. It's corny, cheesy, and unfunny. The demo from a year earlier is far superior. Ebony and Ivory was a better song. YEAH I SAID IT. Matter of fact, I turned TGIM and put on Ebony and Ivory to cleanse my ears lol

Torture (from Victory)- Yeah, this song has Jermaine's greasy fingerprints ALL OVER IT lol It's like an half assed attempt at Thriller, which wasn't a GREAT song, so it says alot

Body (from Victory)- Yeah Marlon is the lead vocalist on the song but I don't care hmph! lol

Heal The World (from Dangerous). NO....just......NO. From the album I regard as Michael's best written work, this song, I feel, the weakest. For All Time or Monkey Business or Someone Put Your Hand Out didn't get picked but THIS one did?! Michael had this thing for cheesy pop songs that I can get with because I tend to like the same songs sometimes (I have Kenny Rogers, Bros, Wham!, Culture Club, and remember, I like "Ebony and Ivory") but this one...will not do

D.S (from HIStory)- I understand the reason for putting this on the album and I give Michael props for doing it but I've never liked it, the lyrics...it's like he was just spouting out random shit

You Are Not Alone (from HIStory)- now get this, I love Childhood, and I love Earth Song, but I can't stand this song except for the last part when Michael starts adlibbing. Maybe because the song is cheesy beyond cheesy, maybe because I DESPISE the videos (No Michael, nobody wanted to see your balls, bruh....although Lisa Marie's butt was lookin' kinda nice back then) or maybe I can't stand the muthafucka who wrote it..... lol

Ghosts (from Blood On The Dancefloor)- I prefer Is It Scary over this one

Heartbreaker (from Invincible)- NO..NO....NO...Invincible's cool points went down because this clusterfuck of a song. The lyrics....okay, but the production.... (pushes plate away), I will not be having any of that, sir

2000 Watts (from Invincible)- why do I always imagine the old Cartoon Network series "Reboot" when I hear this track?

Cry (from Invincible)- We didn't need a Man In The Mirror 2001, Kells! GET THIS OUTTA HERE

The Lost Children (from Invincible)- Words cannot express my.......

utter......absolute.....complete....disdain for this song. I hate it like I hated gym class. I hate this song like Michael Jordan hates nice clothing. I hate this song like Jermaine hates dry hair. I hate this song like Mel Gibson hates everybody

this song was NOT COOL

Agree on a few and disagree on some others.

Girl is Mine - I don't get it either - it's overblown and sappy. I prefer the demo over this, but even then I wouldn't put it on a must listen to list at all.

Torture - I didn't mind it. It's an ok song, but I think the whole Victory album suffers from being an album of solo songs rather than a concerted effort to write like they did back on Destiny or Triumph.

Body - at the time I didn't mind it, but it hasn't travelled well.

Heal The World - when good MJ goes bad and goes Disney. Too syrupy and cringe inducing.

D.S. - like you say I understand the desire to get it out of the system, but its just a basic by the numbers rock song that didn't move his writing style forward at all.

You are not Alone - totally agree. Again overblown production and like you say the only saving grace is Michael's adlibs. But at the same pass I have to throw in Childhood - always felt too showtunesy for me.

Ghosts - for me this is the superior song to Is It Scary. I just prefer the groove and vocal delivery.

Heartbreaker - oh I strongly disagree. I love the chopped up beat, the harsher instrumentation and the sparseness of the vocals. For me one of the better songs on Invincible.

2000 Watts - would have preferred Shout to this - it's just a wasted gimmicky track.

Cry - yes it's poorer man's MITM but I don't mind this, although it starts to meld all the cliche MJ moments in one song.

The Lost Children - I hoped it was the lost song we never heard. Again the production is over blown, pompus and I felt like saying "ok Mike we get it, now move on".

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Bboy.

It was a starting point as for most people this is their sphere of reference for Michael. You know me, more than happy to discuss the music on every release he did.

To that point I just got my J5 live at the forum delivered today and about to crank that.

But what is everyone else's opinion on the music side of things - what are the essential songs for you?

I gotta make my list. I love all of Michael's work but there's some tracks were I literally REFUSE to listen to, matter of fact, I'll start from there lol

The Young Folks (from ABC)- I don't know what it is about this cut, but I skip it everytime it comes on. It's not a bad song, but I do without it

Wings Of My Love (from Got To Be There)- I skip this one, matter of fact, when I first heard the album years ago (probably around 1994), I listened to it twice and I think I haven't heard it since lol

Too Young (from Music And Me)- this isn't on my list anymore but it used to be! lol This one, I felt, was a complete misfire and reason why the Music And Me album felt so weak, but it wasn't until I was listening to the radio and heard it on a classical station that made me go "WOW"

Dapper Dan (from Forever Michael)- I don't hate this song, but I don't really like it either. It's like "Call On Me had to wait 10 years to finally be released but THIS made an album?"

Heaven Knows I Love You, Girl (from Goin' Places)- I've NEVER liked this song. This could've been done by The O'Jays and I still would dislike it, and I like O'Jays! lol

Speak for yourself, bboy. I am sure some fans appreciated it. lol Anyway, I don´t like that song either. I never listen to it. But I like its remix on the Blood on the dancefloor album. It makes it more listenable.

Actually I prefer DS over Scream. I kinda like DS. It´s agressive in the right way, I mean musically. As for the lyrics, Mike probably had to do it for himself. As for Scream, I have just never been crazy about it. It´s trying way too much to be edgy, but it´s not working.

Heaven Knows I Love You, girl - agree, too cheesy.

Swa

You are so damned polite and diplomatic. When I grow up, I wanna be just like you and Bboy. excited

Being an MJ fan for 30 years you do get to hear the same lame arguments offered up again and again. And I believe everyone should be treated with respect, and if I can help clarify some misconceptions then all good.

Happy for people to step with factual criticisms.

The young folks isn't bad but i skip this song too.

i like wings of my love, i didn't pay attention to that song until recently

dapper dan is fun but it's a bit cheesy and like you i'd take call on me any day over this

Heaven knows i love you is a gem and you are wrong for that lol

The girl is mine...i have honesty only listen to that entire song a couple times in my life because it's too cheesy for me lol

i don't like heal the world unless he perform it, i usually skip this song

i think the lost children is ....very michaely lol it's cute but i don't listen to it much

Like I said to someone earlier....the topic is overkill at this point. I clarified what I meant in an earlier post, and you'll have to scroll for that clarificatioon. As far as Latoya is concerned....believe her if you you are somehow compelled to do so. She's said in that clip that Prince "has it all over as well"...but if we are to believe the images that were released of Prince...he only appears to have it on his armpit. An "armpit" hardly classsifies has having it "all over". Even if he had it under his swimming trunks, that's still not "all over your body". So again...I'm done with this topic because it is moot. None of us can go and examine Prince personally to see what the real deal is.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I am not sure what clarification you are talking about, but you still failed to prove to me that some members of his family denied him having vitiligo. Show me a video.

You are just one of those people who keep on talking passionately on something without ever providing some background for their information and when someone else on the other hand tries support their claims during an argument, they first question the source, if that doesn´t work, the pictures by saying they are photoshopped and if that doesn´t work, they come up with some unbelievable version of their own without any kind of proof.

As for the "all over" statement, it may be all over, but the blotches may not be that big to see from such a distance. I´ve noticed he had small blotches on his neck back during the funeral.

[img:$uid]http://img689.i.../img:$uid]

And don´t try telling me it´s photoshopped as well, cause there are more pictures from that event where you can see them.

This topis is overkilled but I haven´t started it and you were the one most discussing it and this is only my third reply on this subject so don´t blame me for draggin it on.

I agree....its a joke. Seeing people spout guff all the time re Michael makes me realise the amount of crap he had to go thru. Whatever he did,the poor man couldn't do right in some people's eyes. Poor Michael.... sad

Probably not lol
