First It's Mary J Playing Simone, Now It's Howard Playing Gaye, Your Thoughts?

EXCLUSIVE: The actor tells me he has been talking to Cameron Crowe about starring as soul singer Marvin Gaye. Crowe has been working for 3½ years on the Sony biopic. The director has gone back to the drawing board after Will Smith turned down the role. Mowtown founder Berry Gordy Jr. is supporting the project, which has secured rights to Gaye's music. Scott Rudin is attached as producer. Howard, of course, is a singer himself. Marvin Gaye was one of the influences on his debut album Shine Through It. “Nothing’s been signed on paper yet,” Howard tells me. “Everybody who loves music will hate me if I get this one wrong.”

I certainly wouldn't pick Terrence. No way. He looks nothing like Marvin. disbelief

ANOTHER ISSUE...

Expect to see Berry Gordy getting portrayed as the "good guy" who pushed Marvin Gaye to reinvent himself and come up with "Whats Going On" and the stuff that came after it(among afew 1/4 truths) rolleyes lol

This has disaster written all over it.

Jamie said Terrence's album "went plastic." LOL. I thought he would have said "aluminum foil" or something like that, and Jamie said "plastic." HILARIOUS! lol

Winnie Mandela is STILL not amused though, her lawyers have contacted the filmmakers and threatened to use legal means to block it

Terrence Howard isn't dark-skinned enough to play Marvin Gaye.

Jesse L. Martin would have been a MUCH better choice than Terrance Howard.

Don't get me wrong, Terrance is a good actor. But Jesse should have gotten the part. It could have been a star making role for him.

Hmmm,,

They're developing a character BASED ON HER, they wouldn't even let her see the script. I say she does have grounds, karma or none.
