"Hey, Whitney... know any Tom Waits?" batting eyes

I just watched the clip on YouTube, and she does indeed sound awful. It's definitely a shame for her on a personal level, particularly as you can still here traces of the fact that she's been, in the past, a very able vocal gymnast. That said, whilst I have sympathy, I do think it's pretty bad form, rolling her croaky ass out on stage and charging people £110 for a ticket. confused

Yeah, I have enjoyed making fun of Whitney in the past but at this point I have nothing but sympathy for her and annoyance at the people that continue to make fun of a woman that is at least trying. Her management are the ones that need to be roasted on a grill.

Also.....

At what point do you grow up and stop making fun of other people's musical taste? I mean, by all means I am not a Whitney fan but I am not going to get any personal pleasure continuing to knock this woman and her fans down. At this point, ones behavior and comments says more about them then anything else.

I just don't get it.

So what do you expect people to do? Feel bad for her?

At this point, I wouldn't expect nothing but jokes and finger-pointing at Whitney. She refuses to accept the fact that she can't sing like she used and flat out tells her audience she can't sing certain parts of the song LMFAO! There's a problem when the performer stops in between their songs to ramble.

No, she lied. To herself and the gullible paying public who are as much to blame really. It's not like they didn't know. There were lots of TV performances indicating she was done.

She shouldn't have toured. She must have heard how bad she was in rehearsal.

So for putting it out there, and blowing her alleged talent all by herself, blaming the air conditioning in the O2 and any number of ridiculous excuses, I think she's fair game.

That's the way of the World. For better or worse.

Listen, the reason why this tour started overseas and not here was because, fans over there were thought to be more forgiving. That being said, they might be more forgiving than us here in the States, but they are NOT stupid. Whitney, is a grown woman and she knew exactly what she was doing when she first lit that pipe. She smoked away her God givin gift and expects us to take her excuses. Not me. Yes, we are human and we make mistakes, but Whitney, why weren't you relying on your faith in God then to help you through those trials and tribulations instead of using your faith in the Lord as an excuse to get you out of it now. Whitney, should start thinking about doing, dinner theater...At least then, if the food is good, people will get their money's worth and might not walk out.

Agree with everything you said.Whitney is a grown woman, she knew what she was doing. She had a God-given gift and she destroyed it,and now she's paying the price. She really has no one to blame but herself.

And if you paid money knowing crack killed her voice, then too bad for you. Doofuses! It really isn't late breaking news. Look, people can spend to watch Britney lipsynch, well at least Whitney is trying to use her voice and sing live hmmm

Indeed. nod You can see in old footage when she was young and healthy, her face would always be drenched during concerts.

And yeah, her voice is gone. People should know that by now. neutral

I think you miss the inside you (especially if you signally out Vainandy).

Some orgers still blame Whitney for the "death" of The Funk.

Don't worry, I'm not one of those orgers. In fact, I've always said (and I still stand by THIS statement....) that Clive Davis is more to blame for killing The Funk than anyone else in the history of the music industry.

Amen. I remember when Whit did an interview with Essence a few years back. She said she wasn't going to rehab because she had Jesus. Girl please! You should've turned to the Lord instead of drugs. Now that you're hooked, go to rehab. It's a celeb's best friend.

And here's my take: I don't think we can fault anyone for liking something. Sure, a lot of music isn't for me. Sure, at times I can get caught up in the fun but to continually take pleasure in the sh*tting of other's enjoying---well, it's petty.

Dissing Whitney to earn a "cool" card is sooo 1980s. Nobody killed funk but the general public (and their apathy towards it). You can't bring it back by dissing everyone who dug the new koolaid.

Sometimes I wonder, is dissing Whitney the new brown bag test (in reverse).

Hundreds in the audience walked out of Whitney Houston's comeback concert here Sunday as the singer once dubbed "The Voice" missed high notes, cut short her songs and apologized for her shortcomings.

If I had spent all that money for a ticket to see Whitney Houston, I'll be damned if I'd walk out, no matter how bad she sounded. I'd sit right there and get my money's worth... watching that train wreck, lol.
