At what point do you grow up and stop making fun of other people's musical taste? I mean, by all means I am not a Whitney fan but I am not going to get any personal pleasure continuing to knock this woman and her fans down. At this point, ones behavior and comments says more about them then anything else.

I just don't get it.

Nothing to get. Intense, irrational dislike is sometimes just the case.

Thing is with Whitters, she WILL have rehearsed before going out on the road, She would have an inkling her voice isn't up to par. A singer would know that right? I've said before, this is a cash-grab for her. I expect she will retire after this tour, perhaps stick to the studio work, but i can't imagine she'll ever hit the road again.

I think she's been dishonest with herself and the paying public, and it's coming home to roost. That's why i have no sympathy, i simply can't bear dishonesty, or for that matter, stupidity.

Lest we forget, what 'talent' she had (her voice) she stupidly smoked away, nobody to blame but herself.

The repetition of these news tells me that it doesn't look like she gives a damn(hence why she never bothered to re-record her voice). So why am I supposed to feel bad at this point? Nippy just wants to be done with the tour so she could go home.

At least she tries to sing unlike Britney. Britney's voice wouldn't be half as bad, but she is too lazy to attempt to sing live.

I saw her in Newcastle on Thursday and i must say it was a very odd experience.
The atmosphere was so tense it was unreal. I was right at the front with the die-hards and even they were nervous.
She came out and the first three songs were great (all new stuff), these songs are in her new range and so she sang them really well. You could actually hear the sighs of relief when she hit notes.

My love is your love and Its not right were just average. Following a 10 min break it went down hill.
She's in an awkward position with her voice now. She has all these hits that she just can't sing anymore. the medly of saving all my love, greatest love of all and all at once was awful. The medly ended on a much better note though with a fantastic rendition of i learned from the best. The venom in her tone as she sang it was tangable - highlight of the night.

I will always love you started well, but the end was completly butchered.
I wanna dance and how will i know went down well but the backing singers did most of the work.

So its an intereting position. She can still sing; but only the newer stuff which suits her voice. What do you do about all the hits? You can't exactly leave them out, thats what people want to hear, but when you can't sing them what do you do?

I really do think that this is a retirement tour. I'm glad i went to see her, but at the same time I just wish I could have seen her 1985-1996.

Yes, over-sensitive. And you're the one calling me ten year olds cause you don't agree with my post? Boo fucking hoo.

You could just disagree and explain why without the need for the stupidity.

But more likely with you, probably not.

Did I mention anyone's name? If you feel my post applied to you, that's on you. Deal with it. It's not a matter of agreeing with your views, it's make an observation how people voice those opinions. If people repeatedly dismiss something they don't like in a childish way, they deserve to have others point it out.

Again, I am not pointing fingers or calling anyone out specifically but if you feel my views are directed at you, the best I can wish for is some consideration.

Whitney's obviously thinks she can use the will of God to pull her through. She's probably too hesitant to try other options. I really think she don't care about what happens to her voice. Try as she might, she just can't hit 'em like she used to. It's hard for her to grasp. I give her an A for effort though.

Oh, you know you probably directed it at me. Honestly, nothing to deal with. I'm not THAT bothered by anything anyone could possibly post on here, if it was somebody i actually considered an intellectual equal of myself, or previously i'd been friendly with, and not just some fucktard with poor typing skills, then maybe! smile

Didn't you take the piss out of Whitney yourself in the past? I think you did. I don't understand the footstomping and rattle throwing now.

Please check my response at the top of this page, besides what you highlighted, WTF is wrong with that? i think that's fair enough comment. It's ALL Whitney's own stupid fault anyway, is it not? shrug

Listen, the reason why this tour started overseas and not here was because, fans over there were thought to be more forgiving. That being said, they might be more forgiving than us here in the States, but they are NOT stupid. Whitney, is a grown woman and she knew exactly what she was doing when she first lit that pipe. She smoked away her God givin gift and expects us to take her excuses. Not me. Yes, we are human and we make mistakes, but Whitney, why weren't you relying on your faith in God then to help you through those trials and tribulations instead of using your faith in the Lord as an excuse to get you out of it now. Whitney, should start thinking about doing, dinner theater...At least then, if the food is good, people will get their money's worth and might not walk out.

I look at the videos for "I'll Always Love You" or "I'm Every Woman" and then I'll recall the glory I felt when I watched her do "I Look To You" on G.M. America (when she made her triumphant return) and truthfully, it makes me wanna cry. It's sad-the marriage to Brown, the drug addiction, all the negative press, etc...It's good to have her back and much like Natalie Cole, I think it's just gonna take time for her to recreate her voice (again.) I wish her all the luck in the world and pray that she'll come back even harder and better the next time around. I, too, salute her for just gettin' back out there and doin' it. biggrin

Oh honey, I have seen the error of my ways. I have been too hard bashing poor little Shi...uh Whitney (turning my head and gagging after using the "Whi" instead of the "Shi"). Bashing her is getting old. I need some fresh meat to bash. Wendy and Lisa look like fun targets. evillol
