So I FINALLY saw This Is It tonight. All I can say is WOW! I enjoyed it so much! Can't believe I slept on it for so long...and am kicking myself for not catching it in the theaters. It was so cool seeing him in action...but also seeing him human. The dude had it going ON.
I used to be the biggest fan of MJ from Jackson 5 to Thriller...he lost me a little in those later years. But I was just starting to get back into his music (esp Destiny, Triumph, and Off the Wall) about a year before his life was cut short so tragically. He was such a huge talent and left behing an awesome wealth of entertainment. | |

Whitening Cream in Michael Jackson's home.
Newly unsealed search warrants detail an array of skin-whitening creams and medical items found in Michael Jackson's home after the singer's death. The documents were unsealed on Friday following a legal motion by The Associated Press. They show detectives found four bottles of anaesthetic and dozens of tubes of skin-whitening cream in a cupboard in Jackson's room. Jackson apparently had the skin condition vitiligo that creates patches of de-pigmented skin. The skin-whitening cream can be used to cover patches of skin that have retained their colour and give a more even appearance. Detectives found 19 tubes of hydroquinone and 18 tubes of Benoquin among the drugs and medical items in the singer's room. Michael Jackson died in June. Source: AAP While this is no surprise, the way the media will twist this will have the usual bias. Michael clearly stated back in 1990s when he did the Oprah interview that he used cream to even the skin out, which is what is reported here. Nothing new, but they will run with it. At least the issue of Vitiligo is conclusive, sadly as it was noted as part of the autopsy. Sad that the guy had to die for people to believe he actually had it. Say what you will about MJ and Lisa Marie's marriage, but I will
always love how during their Prime Time Live interview back in 95, she was the over-protective wife, with how she was frustrated with the media, and there was sweet Michael, who made it easy to want to protect. At times, he could be so fragile, but at other times Michael could posses such strength that he was a true inspiration. I still can't imagine having to go through a court nightmare, day in, day out, that you knew was BS, that threatened your freedom, and your being able to see your kids, plus having to keep it together for your family, (especially kids) and fans who were championing you. He had such a rough fucking life 2002-2005. It makes me so angry to think of what he was put through. With all that gunk..out of the way..enjoy these happy photos. I love them. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

I found this earlier tonight, and found it truly touching. Some of Michael's fans seem crazy, but honestly, for every "crazy" fan, there are stories like these, and fans like these, who your heart hopes only the best for.
My mother has had two great loves in her life. The first was my father, who she was married to for 46 years before becoming a widow on May 2, 2009. The second was Michael Jackson. When I heard the news of Michael Jackson's untimely death, I feared for my mother. I called her to break the news but noticed that she seemed a bit unaffected by it. In fact, it wasn't until a few months later, during a particularly difficult moment, that I realized the magnitude of my mother's loss. That was when she said to me with tears streaming down her face, "If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be losing the two loves of my life within a month of each other, I would have called them a liar." A couple of years ago, I took my mom and dad to a drag show in Palm Springs. To my mother's delight and surprise, there was a Michael Jackson impersonator. I have NEVER seen my mother so star struck - despite the fact that it wasn't even the real Michael. She even STOOD IN LINE to get a picture taken of the two of them! So when it was announced that there was going to be a documentary featuring footage from Michael Jackson's comeback concert tour, I knew I had to get tickets and take my mother. I managed to get these tickets, and we'll be watching "This Is It" this Sunday. I am excited to be able to share a moment of Michael with my mother. - by gloria :: Thu Oct 29, 2009 at 05:00:02 AM PDT http://www.mothertalkers....pen-Thread What a sweet lady! MJ Fan 1992-Forever

In terms of influence on my life, Michael Jackson means so much to me.
He has inspired me on so many levels, as a person, as a performer, as a songwriter, dancer, actor, producer, director..the list goes on and on. But always at the top of that list is, as a person. The saying goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words." With that being said, I found this picture and I think it showcases what MJ means in terms of the layout of my world. While he isn't my G-D by any means, he inspired so many good things, and will NEVER be forgotten in my heart. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

Celine Dion says she's feeling sad, angry about Michael Jackson's death LOS ANGELES - Celine Dion says she's still sad and angry about the death of Michael Jackson. The diva is set to take the stage along with Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood and Smokey Robinson for a 3-D tribute to Jackson at the 52nd Grammy Awards on Sunday. It will be the first look at the environmentally conscious "Earth Day" mini-movie Jackson created for his "This Is It" tour before his death last June. After rehearsals on Saturday, Dion was asked how it felt to sing "Earth Day" while images of the King of Pop scrolled by on massive screens overhead. "Very emotional," said Dion, clad in a grey embroidered T-shirt and jeans, with a white leather jacket and thigh-high grey suede boots. "Very honoured and emotional at the same time. It's kind of an awkward feeling. Sadness, and mad at the same time that he was top shape. "You see a lot through the newspapers and it's unfortunate sometimes that people have this (distorted) image, but Michael was on top of his gig and on top of his talent, and seeing the movie and seeing him, how top-shape he was, it's very difficult to accept." Special glasses are available only in the United States at Target stores, so Canadian viewers might not get the full effect of the visuals, which feature a small girl dancing through a lush jungle and falling asleep to images of polar bears, elephants and zebras charging around onscreen. The song, however, will still pack a punch. As Dion swayed and danced onstage alongside the others, the group harmonized with pre-recorded vocals from Jackson. For Dion, Jackson was an "amazing source of inspiration." So much so, that she said he was part of the reason she decided to learn English. "I wanted the same life - show business," she explained. "I wanted to sing onstage like him. ... I wanted to be onstage someday with Michael Jackson, especially (to) sing onstage with him maybe one day." Dion said she didn't want to meet the King of Pop and be unable to tell him how honoured she was because of a language barrier. "It was because of him in a way that I went to school to learn English," she said. The Grammy performance is difficult for her, the singer added. "It is, because I'm not only a fan, but I knew him personally a little bit, I met with him, and it's difficult to know that he was doing perfectly well and that he's no longer with us," she said. "It's just heartbreaking." So she took one more opportunity to explain what made Jackson such a special performer. "Michael was not only a great musician, he was a great dancer, he was a great visionary, he had every instrument inside of his body, he knew exactly what he wanted to hear, what he wanted to do, he was feeling everything," she said. "I hear 'HOO,"' she says, imitating Jackson's signature high-pitched flourish. "I hear this, it's not even a song, but for me it means everything. ... "He was very, very special. I'm a big fan of Michael Jackson, period. That's all I can say." MJ Fan 1992-Forever
