The result was a controversial video, released Saturday, for her song "Window Seat," which Badu said was "shot guerrilla style" with no crew and in one take March 17.

I went to my local F.Y.E. (For Your Entertainment) store to buy the new album today and the cashier told me that today was my lucky day because he predicted that they would sell out of every single copy of the album. And I believe they have, considering many people were at the Erykah Badu or Newest Release section. Ewww... wink

i just spent about an hour with erykah badu's new album but she wanted to be alone and didn't feel like entertaining. not this time indeed. the whole thing including the written introduction is an audio "out to lunch" sign. seriously that felt like a bootleg cassette.

her show next week should be interesting. i'll be back with that.

Yeah; the concept was the right side of her brain showing emotion and love. I find that yes some songs do lack basic conception; however the more I am listening the more I am wanting to ..know more, something alot of r&b albums are LACKING...layers and thought.

I've always found with Badu's albums that they get much better the more you listen to them. For example I couldn't stand Mama's Gun the first few times (I know, I know; what was wrong with me!), then a year later I just fell in love with it.
She's the only artist who I feel I just have to keep listening to, even if I'm not feeling it as much as the last record. Maybe it's because Baduizm was one of the albums that got me through my teen years, I don't know, but there's no other artist I do that with lol

^^^ That was a great performance of Window Seat. Not sure exactly where this album stands amongst her collection yet--it's fighting for the number one spot--but I totally love it. Whenever it comes to Erykah I have no expectations and I let the music come to me in whatever form it’s in. Coming off of Baduizm I didn’t grasp Mama’s Gun right away. When I was ready for it, I gave it another run and found it to be brilliant. She is 5 for 5 in my book. Different? Yes. Disappointment? Never.

I download digital singles and hard-to-find-imports, but I like to touch the actual disc and peruse liner notes and examine the cover art. The same goes for books.

It's cool that she doesn't seem to let it ruin her energy too much though, how people stayed in the seats for the clip below I'll never know!

Lucky you! I wish I could see her in Miami next week. But I'm saving my coins for a tour and/or Lilith Fair. Nothing like seeing her live.
