hm. Except she actually writes and produces her material(BIG HITS...no matter what you personally think of the songs)...and others (as opposed to Madonna who PAYS people to get her name on the songs). Not exactly the same - right? Also that puts here above ALL of Princes side projects since Prince wrote most of that. Amazing how narrow minded people are about music on the org. It's one thing not to LIKE something but to make uninformed statements just makes you sound ignorant.

Oh you want to go there, do you? Okay.
Fine. She gets a bit of a nod over Madonna because she can actually play an instrument.

Her voice is ASS.
And let me see if I've got this straight.
This broad shows up, wears outfits made out of Kermit the Frog puppets, singing about "disco-sticks" and "poker-faces" and is cutting-edge and the future of pop music.

Uh huh.

bored

Yeah- don't forget Princes whole first album was kinda that and what he wore in the early days...hurrrrmmmmm???

The term of "modern day Mozart" is one that Prince's people gave him first of all, but it had to do with being Prolific, cutting at least an album an year, switching things up etc....

Sorry but GaGa has not shown me ANY of that, chick has got one album, ONE ALBUM people, and a reissue. Talk to me when she is doing one-two a year and challenging her audience, meaning, not giving them what they want, but what you think they should have. Prince always challenged for the most part, i mean after Purple Rain he could have done Purple Rain 2 but he didnt, he did a total 360.

I find it funny I am defending her considering I don't listen to her...but she has also produced and written for others - hits by the way.
When Prince first dropped everyone hailed him as the next big thing based on one album. In his case it turned out to be true. And frankly it is MUCH harder to get that kind of attention n music today since the field is SWARMING with talent (whether you agree with what is called talent or not) so she must be doing something right.
Princes first two albums didn't stray that far from each other musically.

So wait for her next few releases before you write her off.

This is where I stopped reading. I may have been too busy to notice this plethora of vocal and musical talents that has since overcome the popular music landscape since Lady Gaga arrived on the seen. was it the grounbreaking Katy Perry with her extraordinary gift for songwriting? was it the Virtuoso Beyonce with her unimitatable vocal and choreographic abilities? was it Rihanna with her Rihanna-ness? what swarm of talent do you speak of, I honestly want to know so I can have new emerging young talents uploaded to my ipod.
Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..

The female modern day mozart?

Like Madonna and Britney before her, She's incorporated elements
of hip hop into her music. However, she's taken the formula even
one amazing leap further by doing it and singing in key.

This is a better comparison than comparing her to Prince or to Mozart. Prince is compared to Mozart for his overall enormous musical talent, Gaga is compared to Prince for one aspect of Prince's persona--his style--the same reason he can be compared to Madonna or even Britney.

your math is a little off. It's not a=b b=c a=c
It's more like If A then B, and if A then C, but but not necessarily if B then C.
So if Prince is compared to Michael Jackson, that doesn't mean that MJ is comparable to Jimi Hendrix

But I do kind of enjoy watching her.
