Who needs Blu-ray? Japan gets “This Is It” on SD card and USB stick
by Serkan Toto on January 6, 2010 The special Michael Jackson PS3 bundle (PS3 plus “This Is It”, a documentary–concert film, on Blu-ray ) unveiled today by Sony Japan wasn’t the only relevant product announcement for Japanese ***** fans today. Nagoya-based Hagiwara-Sys Com is to release the film on two very unique media [JP], namely on a USB flash memory and an SD card. The USB memory stick version (2GB) is dubbed “PC Edition”. Buyers will get “This Is It” in WMV format with 720×406 resolution and 1.5Mbps bit rate (the music bit rate is 128kbps). The PC Edition requires Windows XP/Vista/7 and Windows Media Player 9. Users will need to be online the first time they want to watch This Is It in order for Hagiwara to certify it’s an original file. The so-called “Mobile Edition” of the movie is stored on a 1GB SD card. Hagiwara is selling this version for people who want to watch This Is It on their cell phones. It’s not the first time a Japanese company distributes digital content on SD cards. Both versions will be sold in an LP jacket (315×315mm) starting January 27. Hagiwara throws in a 24-page booklet in vinyl record design and four Michael Jackson post cards. Prices: $50 for the SD version and $70 for the USB stick version. Hagiwara is a global company, but I doubt these media will ever be available anywhere outside Japan. I’d suggest you contact Japanese movie specialist CDJapan in case you’re interested. Damn, this sucks. Why are the shorts films only on Blu Ray? They should be also on the DVD instead of the costumes or the stuff talking about Mike or the Trailor. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. They're not stupid (Sony). They know what we want and they want us to buy a Blu Ray player to see it. It's times like this where I say "Thank God for illegal downloading". Fuck the money hungry bastards. |

So,Can one from the USA order from amazon UK the double bluray dvd and it work properly in American bluray player? I'm kind of new to bluray so it is a bit confusing I remember VHS is different in US & UK UK has PAL format if I remeber correctly so there isn't any differences in BluRay DVDs in country?? | |

So there is a CD/DVD place near me and it's legit and they was selling this is it early (they wasn't suppose to lol) but I just finish watching it(finally) I'm sure the blueray stuff will be on youtube. | |

yeah i've seen ppl having the dvd for one long minute now.. i don't have it though, obviously from my post above i don't have it yet. lucky you is the bluray really great? | |

I read somewhere (while the movie was in theatres) that Michael rehearsed "Stranger in Moscow" and "Dirty Diana" and that extra performances would be included on the DVD. Has anyone else heard about this? | |

I'm excited for the DVD as well!!! I really can't wait. I already pre-ordered it on Amazon. I hope it has plenty of footage of MJ being interviewed and maybe some never before seen rehearsal footage of him performing too (keeping my fingers crossed!).
