deebee said: violetblues said: i dont know, but i wish all beautiful women with hot bodies would do the same. People still hard up about nudity? and she's not even nude. Do any of you feel the same when you open up Vogue magazine? Whats up with some calling her a whore? Now, that's pathetic. For me, it's not a prudish issue with nudity or sexuality, or anything like that, it's just an issue with women only being presented as sex objects. People used to struggle against that kind of representation, because it was part of the reason women could never be taken seriously for anything else (brains, talent, etc); now it's dressed up as part of some kind of 'empowerment'. It is what it is, I guess, and it seems to be how things are these days, but I'm still not crazy about it. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Rihanna and any young artist talking about expressing their soul and expressing their bodies at the same time needs counseling. Tim doesn't approve lol

Then their next album they start taking off their clothes, talking about how "this is the REAL me, this is how I feel, the album is very personal and blah blah blah". Aguilera did it (Stripped). Spears did it (one of her miserable albums; the one with Madonna on it). Madonna did it (Like A Prayer is probably the closest to that theory because it was one of her most personal albums). P!INK did it, a bit, after her first album (although she's a real bad ass!) Even Janet, whom I love, came out all nipple pierced and tattooed and rubber laden with The Velvet Rope. I guess its Rihanna's turn.
She was on Fuse the other day yammering on about how this album isn't angry, but rather a wide range of emotions. Some days she was happy, some she was angry, some she was moody.....yadda yadda yadda. As if an artist being personal on an album is some new concept. That's what happens when you're a packaged product, and a puppet of a record company. You forget who the fuck you are, then they come out a few years later talking about how THIS is their first REAL album, and THIS album is THEM. I couldn´t figure out what was weird about her for me and you ve just nailed it. She seems emotionless. Sexuality should come naturally and she makes it all seem forced and very robotic. That isn't necessarily a bad thing in some cases but you can tell she's not really like this at home or in her personal life. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I guess these days you would be an idiot if you were a female music star and DIDN'T pose nude, or dress half-naked. 'Cause you know, the ones who keep covered don't get the airtime.
