I don't really relate sales to quality of material but I do repect Heart.
As a matter of fact, I did a post on my favorite Heart album (not their most popular)...

...Dog & Butterfly some time ago.

At the time, it ended up very close to where you'd find the locker of Davy Jones. confused

She is an unsung hero in the music world. Pat Benatar's voice is legendary. worship

Very true but the bigger issue....ANN WILSON, this woman blows everyone away, never respected, her vocals never given credit, her band not given their due, and the sisters not given any credit for being great songwriters

That's not exactly true. Heart and the Wilson sisters were HUGE in the late '70's. And had a big hit or two in the '80's.

Granted, you don't hear much about them now but back when they were in the middle of the game, they got a lot of praise and respect.

Pat Benatar is a BADASS. And her husband, Neil Geraldo, is a good a rock guitarist as you're ever going to see. He's in the same exclusive club as Prince, IMHO.

If you get a chance to see Benatar in concert, do it. You will be thanking me for the rest of your life.

I don't care about Stevie Witchy Nicks. She's just ridiculous to me

I used to think the same thing - did for about 30 years, in fact. Then I went to see her in concert a couple summers ago.

She blew me away. She was fantastic. One of the most professional entertainers I have ever seen.

There are others that really don't get the credit they deserve, even from a guy like me

Joan Armatrading really never got mainstream attention.

Aimee Mann got attention here & there, but I think she's been putting out really good songs for 20 years. And had I not been forced to listen to the second Til Tuesday album repeatedly, I never would have known how good it is.

Two of my absolute favorites. Joan's voice is extraordinary. The things she can do with it blow me away. She and Aimee have had amazing careers. By the way, I like Til Tuesday's third album (which is where the video is from) even better than their second. I like Aimee's solo work a lot, but I also would have enjoyed hearing where the band would have gone had they stayed together.

I have to go back and listent to some Joan Jett. I can't believe she's even in this discussion based on what I've heard from her.

Stevie is one of my favorite songwriters and vocalists of all time. I like Pat a lot, too, but Stevie is where it's at. I was reading an interview recently where she was talking about being on tour for the next seven or eight years, and I was even more impressed by her commitment to her art.
