Teddy was cheating on his wife with a tranny. The car accident that put him in a wheelchair and killed the other woman is the only reason why he got caught.

I can see how people might say Madonna is a no scandal singer. Yes, she has done scandalous things in her videos or stage shows. But "scandal" to me means something someone does in their personal life.
Madonna has never been involved in drugs or arrested and there really haven't been any huge tabloid scandals involving her personal life like the current Tiger Woods circus.
No matter how she tries to hid it, she's a nice girl from Michigan.

Madonna and A-Rod
Madonna and Dennis Rodman
Madonna and Sean Penn
Madonna and Jose Conseco
Madonna and Carlos Leon
Madonna and her bodyguard who's name i'm forgetting
Madonna and JFK Jr
Madonna and Charles Barkley
Madonna and 2pac
Madonna and Sandra Bernhard
Madonna and Prince (?)
Madonna and Vanilla Ice

just acouple of her relationships that have been in the tabloids and what not.

Than the adoption stories
the stories around the time of Lola's birthday where they called her pregnancy a publicity stunt

Her brother writing a book, which wasn't revealing

there have been more but you should get the point

OK, that's better.

I remeber hearing a long time ago that she said negative things in the press about gay people though I bet it was false.

I was thinking that also. It was false, per Donna Summer. We must also not forget that there is another Donna Summer out there and I believe they are a dj and male, I believe.

In this day and age just about every artist/celebrity has been involved in some weird scandal or controversy. Can you think of any that haven't? Artist that haven't done a damn thing wrong ever? Does this exist?

Here's what i've come up with so far. Please help me create the list....

7) Shakira

10 Madonna
biggrin

There was a scandal of sorts with Shakira back around the start of the decade when some journos went through the garbage outside her home(as is their wont) and found stacks of unopened fanmail. This happened in Colombia before she was big with english-speaking audiences, but still, she got some stick and came out with an official statement that it was disposed without her knowing.

Madonna? Now come on, there's been a surplus of scandal that's followed her throughout her career: sex book, black jesus vid, shagging, risque statements, adopting the african kids....et cetera et cetera

Even till this very day, Phil never wanted to comment on the subject matter behind In The Air Tonight. Now we know why.

THIS is one more reason why I love most of 80's music. The songs & (sometimes) the videos told stories that listeners can have fun figuring out for themselves.

Nat King Cole, had issues with his show being cancelled in late 1956, because of low ratings caused by racist viewers who refuse to watch a black man in charge, otherwise he was squeaky clean.

I didn't mean to imply any condemnation on my part, only to give the press 'scandal' slant as I seem to remember it.....think his ex-wife sold her story, or perhaps I'm mistaken.

Collins met his second wife, Jill Taverman, in 1980. They were married from 1984[55] to 1996. They had one daughter, named Lily Collins, who was born in 1989.[56] Collins openly admits that some of their divorce-related correspondence was by fax (one, about access to their daughter, was reproduced in The Sun), but denies that this took her by surprise.[53] Collins paid Jill £17M as final settlement.[54]

I read on Wikipedia, apparently when his show got cancelled (Apparently due to a lack of sponsorship) he said "Madison Avenue is afraid of the dark". And apparently on the 1920 census his race was listed as Mulatto. He also challenged the colour bar in Cuba and got away with it in 1958, recording an album there and the communists have set up a shrine to him in the same lounge bar he was refused entry in back in 1956.

6) Nelly Furtado
7) Shakira
8) Sade
9) Aretha Franklin
10 Madonna

Cee lo
Andre 3000
Stevie Wonder
Donna Summer
Luther Vandross
Teddy Pendergrass
Barry White

Donna Summer-anti-gay and tranni rumors, drugs
Luther Vandross-gay rumors (well, most people would say not rumors, but deeply in the closet)
Stevie Wonder-VD rumors
Barry White-separated from wife for years with no legal divorce

I would put rumors and scandals in the same category IMHO. All of them might be minor, but I think they are still under the umbrella of scandal.

He had heaps of scandals, in 1991 convicted to prison of kidnapping a woman who owed him and his girlfriend drug money, tied her up, raped her and burnt the woman with hot crack pipes. Numerous drug busts as well, Rick James couldn't stay out of trouble. Even in the Simpsons, he is singing Superfreak and gets arrested again "Oh man what did I do this time".
