What is going on with Bowie as far as new material? His last studio release was 6 years ago and he used to be so prolific. Did health problems really sidetrack him that much? I hope he's doing Ok.

he turns up from time to time doing background vocals or as a special guest during live performances by hipster bands, but that's about it. everyone was all atwitter several months ago because someone who may or may not have been Bowie tweeted that they were in Berlin working on new material, but i don't know if there was any followup on that.

This sounds like possibly the best way to re-release astonishing albums.

It's a great album. Great enough to deserve the four-disc treatment?

yes. his greatest. Cool. You're officially the first person I've ever talked to that loves Station To Station on this level. Don't get me wrong, it's the Berlin trilogy (I could extend that to include Iggy's The Idiot and Lust For Life), then Scary Monsters and then Station To Station for me, so I get it's power. "Word On A Wing" is the best ballad he ever wrote.
