Could JOSS STONE be the new Teena Marie?

"Bruised but not Broken"

This is a man's world- James Brown and Joss Stone

A stupid man’s report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.

Oh hell no! Not with that horrible forced screaming-singing thing she does. She may like doing r&b/soul but it doesn't come natural for her. She always sounds fake or like she's forcing it. Teena is just natural with it.

Once Stone stops bitting Nikka Costa, I might stop hating on her.

I like Joss Stone, but I don't think she should aim to be the "next" anybody. She should just be herself. She's so talented, she just needs a brilliant album.I think her best work is yet to come.

I think she's got potential...

Teena Marie's voice is more seasoned than Joss Stones.

Girl they won't believe it- Joss Stone

If I were a bell- Teena Marie

She's good, but she needs some more life experience and years on her. As soon as Teena opened her mouth I started getting chills !

Joss will never be embraced by R&B radio. Teena was from the get go.

Black radio embraced Teena for her VOICE, nobody knew what color she was when she first came out, only that she was Rick James's protege.

And when it was discovered she was white, black radio still embraced her.

In my opinion, Joss fakes the funk. Teena is the real deal.

If she were a bell, she'd be an annoying, off-key bell. eek Never liked that song, and that carrying on at the end of that performance makes me falloff Joss has potential, but she's yet to live up to it and likely never will. She seems content to be a brat for the gossip rags.

Anyway, here's one I love from Teena

- While some do feel that Teena has a problem with being off-key, at least w/ her it feels genuine; I feel Joss Stone's "soul" is forced

If she Could Have .. she would have by Now..

Although they are 2 different people, so you can't compare
Teena is a Musician, Songwriter, Arranger and a Singer..

Apples and Oranges..

Leigh Jones impresses me more than Joss..

nod True. When she's off-key, she's genuinely off-key. lol cool I like her enough that I've got three of her studio albums, but I'm just partial to her up-tempo numbers. The majority of her ballads do nothing for me. To me, that's when Teena feels like she's trying too hard.

Anyway, I liked Joss at first. I've since lost interest.

Joss Stone is horrible. Teena is in a league of her own; one that Slosh could never touch.

• Did you first think Prince was gay? •

Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.

Frankly, I don't think Teena Marie should be the standard to which anyone aspires. I've NEVER understood why people go all ga ga for her. disbelief Listening to her and Rick James sing is like watching Cephus and Reesie on In Living Color.

Joss? She's still wet. Give her 10 years to hone her voice, and the soul that'll come with the ups and downs of an adult life she's yet to lead, and she may sing circles around Reesie... er... Teena. rolleyes
