Who cares about Tito, LaToya or Rebbie.

Come-on now, although I think Marlon is and was the sexiest Jackson, he absolutely does not rank above Randy or Jackie. Randy can play just about every instrument and can write; Jackie can write as well. Also, Janet may be more successful than Jermaine, but Jermaine can actually sing and has mad bass skills.
My rank would be as follows:

Dancing/Performance:
1. Michael,
2. Marlon (brother is underated; he developed into an excellent dancer)
3. Janet,
4. Jackie. (Jackie gets a mention because when he, Michael and Marlon performed choreography together, it was magic)
The other's don't rank at all regarding dancing IMO.

Singing:
1. Tie: Michael & Jermaine (during J5 days, boy had soul for days; as he got older, he had the perfect quiet storm voice)

2. Tie: Rebbie & Randy(Check out his Randy & the Gypsies Album; he had a good voice)
3. Jackie. (if you like falsetos (sp?) Jackie had one of the best)
4. Marlon (Love Ya Marlon, but you sound like a weak Jermaine imitation)
5. Janet (Weak voice but I like her mellow songs like That's the Way Love Goes)
6 Tito (always found Tito's voice to be novelty; especially in the J5 days)
7.LaToya (No words eek)

Musician: These three were all great, but if I had to rank them here goes:

1. Randy
2. Jermaine
3. Tito
The other's don't rank.

Song Writing: I'm torn between ranking Michael 1 b/c of commercial success or Randy 1 b/c he wrote so well for the Jacksons when he was only a teen, so I might change my mind on my listing, but for now here it goes

1. Michael
2. Randy
3.Randy/Michael team; Randy/Jackie team
4, Jackie
5. Jermaine
6. Marlon

I was shaky on where to place Jackie and Jermaine. Jackie wrote very well on the Triumph album, my fav Jackson album, so maybe I'm a bit bias. So, I'll trade you a Jackie for a Jermaine. biggrin

Hahaha... okay, I just think JERMAINE over so many years, had some great songs, not taking away from JACKIE's input on "TRIUMPH" (which is also mine, and probably everyone's fave JACKSONS album), bit it's all good.

cool

I think it would be easier to rank them seperatley than as a whole.

Instrumentation
1. Randy
2. Jermaine
3. Tito
4. Marlon
5. Michael
6. Jackie

Singing
1. Michael
2. Jermaine
-
3. Jackie
4. Randy
-
5. Marlon
6. Tito

Writing
1. Michael
2. Randy
3. Jermaine
4. Jackie
5. Tito
6. Marlon

Production
1. Michael
2. Jermaine
3. Marlon
4. Jackie
5. Tito
6. Randy (only cause we don't really know what he produced seperatley)

Janet
Rebbie
LaToya

I did this a couple of days ago, now, I'll go into it with more detail (and changes.)

Instrumentation
1a. Randy: Started of as the bongo/conga player than later switched to keyboards. Mike said he was the best in the family. He could pick up anything and play it. In the early days while his brother was on the road, he wanted to be in the band so much he would just practice, practice
1b. Jermaine: The bassist for the J5/Jacksons. Lot of folks don't know he actually started off as the rhythm guitarist for the band. Played many instruments on his albums and others he produced for like drums, keys, synths, and even harmonica.
2. Tito: Guitarist for the band and very skilled at that playing blues, funk, rock. Also ventures on other instruments.
-
3. Marlon: In the early days, started out as the bongo player. Plays bass, keyboards and drums (took saxophone lessons in the 70s').
4. Michael: Took up bongos right after Marlon. Teddy Riles states he was a very good musician.
5. Jackie: Played tambourine during the J5 days. Learned piano in the 70s'.

Singing
1. Michael: Self explanatory
2. Jermaine: For a co-lead, has had a very successful career (better that some lead singers)
-
3. Jackie: Great falsetto, voice blends perfectly with Mike and Jermaine during the J5 days.
4. Randy: Nice sounding voice, can carry a tune.
-
5. Marlon: His voice was good if he played to his strengths.
6. Tito: Was decent on his cut from 'Victory.'

Writing
1. Michael: Self-explanatory
2. Jermaine: Has been writing tunes for himself and others since his bros left for CBS. Writes good loves songs
3a. Randy: Mike's right-hand man from "Shake Your Body" to my fav on 'Victory' "The Hurt." As a solo artist, wrote a nice album in 1989.
3b. Jackie: Wrote hits on 'Triumph' (Can You Feel It) and 'Victory' (Torture)
4. Marlon: Came into his own in the early 80s' writing for Barry White, Betty Wright, his sisters (had a hit with Janet) and his solo material
5. Tito: Wrote a whole album for the group Steven & Sterling along with all his sisters.

Production
1. Michael: Besides many of his hits, produced for Ms. Ross, Ms Summers among others.
2. Jermaine: Same as above.
3. Marlon: Really liked his style in the early to mid 80s'. Production for his solo record was okay, but nothing (besides "Don't Go") compared to his early work like "Body" "Don't Stand Another Chance" and "Rio"
4. Tito: His productions were slamin'
5. Randy: His production was cool, like his album and his solo cut from 'Victory' Also produced 2 cuts for La Toya.
6. Jackie: We didn't here enough from 'Jackson' boy besides "Torture" which was slamin' and "Wait."

Just for fun ... LOL.
Bands/groups

1b. The Jacksons (1975-1983)
2. The Jacksons (1984)
3. The Jacksons (1989-1990)
4. Randy & the Gypsys (1989)
5. The Jacksons (1987)

TV Shows

PRINCE: Always and Forever

I know he wrote and produced "MUSCLES" for DIANA ROSS, he also wrote "EATEN ALIVE" for her and co-produced and sang on it with THE BEE GEES.

What did he do for DONNA SUMMER?...
