Does anyone have any news on whether MJ will actually be singing?

Randy Phillips said he will be singing earlier on (as opposed to miming)

And asked if Jackson would sing or lip-synch on his eagerly awaited return, he replied: "He's singing."

Seeing this is an all encompasing MJ thread - it appears nothing is off topic, lol.

2000 Watts is an ode to sound and modern technology - and in my opinion a weak track on Invincible - Shout should have been included in it's place.

I heard it´s about sex. But I don´t know. English ain´t my mother tongue, so I didn´t get the lyrics very well.

But Sony UK is releasing "The Hits" on July 6 to coincide with the o2 concerts. This will be the first UK edition of the Sony US release, "The Essential Michael Jackson".

Eireboy - you've made your point. You don't think Michael will sing live. We get it. No need to keep reposting your claims for over 3 months now.

As an Mj fan my eyes are wide open that he will lipsync a lot of it - do I want that - no. But it's gonna happen. I also know he will sing some parts live, and for me I am looking forward to those moments first and foremost.

The floorplans published when tickets went on sale showed an End Stage arrangement.

Michael Jackson to earn $50 million for O2 shows

NASHVILLE (Billboard) - Michael Jackson could take home more than $50 million (32.6 million pounds) from his much-anticipated 50-show stand at London's O2 Arena, his first shows in 12 years, according to Billboard calculations.

The concert series begins July 8, and the so-called "King of Pop" has been busy rehearsing at a soundstage in Burbank, Calif., for the past four weeks.

Tickets average about $115 and capacity will be about 15,000 per show, taking the gross for the run to about $90 million. Premium and VIP packages and secondary market sales will boost the gross to more than $100 million. Merchandise sales could bring in another $15 million.

The deal is set up where Jackson shares in net ticket revenue which, according to Billboard calculations, would make Jackson's take on ticket sales alone north of $50 million, though producer/promoter AEG Live would not confirm this.

The company has footed the bill for a $20 million production, and the show layout is coming together.

"Originally we tried to keep the show down to 90 minutes, but Michael has so many must-do songs in his repertoire that the shows now will be two-plus hours," AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips tells Billboard.

Phillips would not reveal details of the production, but one could expect a multi-media experience that would be "the most cutting edge ever employed on a tour. We're using technology that's never been used before in live entertainment."

Phillips says AEG Live is well-insured for the event, and 50-year-old Jackson passed a physical "with flying colours."

Jackson is now working out specific songs, though a top-to-bottom dress rehearsal won't be ready for a month.

"Michael's in incredible physical shape, he's got tremendous stamina, he's been working out aerobically preparing for this, and he is totally engaged," Phillips says. "He sounds like Michael Jackson. He is laser-focussed on making this the greatest entertainment event that fans have ever seen."

The Jackson camp is not worried about a possible lawsuit seeking to derail the shows. A music promoter said on Monday that Jackson had previously contracted to perform in July 2010 along with his brothers from the Jackson Five and sister Janet Jackson. The terms prevent him from giving a concert before then.

Phillips said the claims were "completely meritless and have not impacted rehearsals in any way. We have a bona fide contract, the deal's in place, he's performing, we're performing."

Who the Hell Owns Michael Jackson's Junk!
Posted May 14th 2009 8:00PM by TMZ Staff

The auction house that was going to sell millions of dollars of property from Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch has filed legal papers, because it seems everyone on earth is claiming they own the goods.

Jerry Hawxhurst, the lawyer for Julien's Auction House filed the papers because there's an ongoing dispute between Jacko and his former manager, Dr. Tohme, as to who controls MJJ Productions -- the owner of the property Julien's currently holds. The property includes the titles to three Rolls Royce cars.

Julien's is getting caught in the crossfire and doesn't want to give it to anyone, for fear the others will sue the auction house claiming they owned the stuff. So Julien's is asking the court to take control of M.J.'s stuff and decide who gets what.

UPDATE: Dr. Tohme just contacted TMZ. He says he controls MJJ Productions, but says all the auction items are in Jacko's name. Tohme tells us he's not trying to claim any of MJ's property.

UPDATE: Dr. Tohme just contacted us again, to say that Michael is the one in charge of MJJ Productions, not him. Sounds like this is reason the papers were filed in the first place.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Jacksons Deny Any Involvement With Planned Jackson 5 Reunion Show in Texas With Brother Michael & Sister Janet

Beverly Hills, CA, May 15, 2009 — In an official statement issued today The Jacksons (Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and Randy Jackson) have denied they were in any way involved with a proposed Jackson5 reunion concert in Texas on July 3rd claimed this week by New Jersey concert promoters AllGood Entertainment.

According to The Jackson’s manager, Danny O’Donovan, the original members of the Jackson 5, and younger brother, Randy, who later joined Michael and his older brothers performing as The Jacksons, were never approached about participating in the purported Texas concert event with Michael and sister, Janet.

The Jacksons have said they will support Michael in fighting any legal action brought by AllGood Entertainment with regard to the promoter’s claim about a July3 rd concert in Texas Stadium. O’Donovan said “There is absolutely no merit in this claim, and we had no knowledge of any contract with anyone, for a so-called family tour reunion. In fact, The Jacksons were never even approached about it and no offer was ever made to them.”

All of the Jackson brothers are thrilled that Michael is returning to the live stage this summer and are totally in support of his historic 50 concert run at London’s O2 Arena. They eagerly look forward to seeing and enjoying his “This Is It!” concert event.

Michael Jackson 'has skin cancer'12:30 AEST Sat May 16 2009
By ninemsn staff

Michael Jackson is reportedly battling skin cancer.

Jackson, 50, has spots of skin cancer on his upper body and pre-cancerous cells on his face, The Sun reports.

Those close to the King of Pop did not deny the report when contacted.

"I cannot comment on this issue," a spokesperson for his publicist Dita Miller was reported as saying in the Daily Mail.

"I am afraid there is nothing more to add at this time."

His New York-based lawyers, L Londell McMillan, refused to confirm or deny the reports.

"We don't speak about these sorts of things ... I cannot say any more," a spokesperson said.

Jackson is said to be determined to make a full recovery after his Los Angeles doctors said the disease was treatable.

"He was at first very concerned, but says he has been assured by the doctors that they can treat this and he will recover," a Sun source said.

Jackson has been photographed making regular visits to his Beverly Hills dermatologist wearing a mask and surgical cap, and reportedly received the shock diagnosis last month.

Jackson's strange skin colour has been linked to the cancer.

He has claimed to suffer from vitiligo, a disease that affects pigmentation, which has the potential to contribute to skin problems.

Medical bodies have also warned in the past that skin bleaching treatments can lead to skin cancer.

Jackson has long been rumoured to have undergone the cosmetic treatment despite repeatedly denying the claims.

The obscure performer's 50 sold-out shows at London's O2 Arena are scheduled to begin in July.

The part in bold is the relevant part. He was always going to pay the price for such extensive and dramatic self-mutilation.
