Girl's suing for $44 million I heard. falloff

from TSCM:

she believes she is entitled to 10% of the MEDIA RUMORED $400 million that the O2 concerts COULD POTENTIALLY yield (if it continues in phases for 3.5 to 4 years)... In addition to 10% of the proceeds from Thriller 25 sales and from the Sony/ATV refinance. That's where she gets $44 million from.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Official Website of Raymone K. Bain
RaymoneBain.com

STATEMENT OF RAYMONE K. BAIN
REGARDING THE LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST
MICHAEL J. JACKSON
IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

Washington, D.C. (May 5, 2009) …… “It is with deep regret that I find myself at this place, having to file a lawsuit against my longtime employer, and someone whom I have greatly admired and respected, Michael Jackson.

“Mr. Jackson and I have had a long, productive and mutually beneficial business relationship.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Jackson has elected not to honor the financial obligations of our contractual relationship, despite my numerous attempts to amicably resolve this matter. I am sincerely disappointed in Mr. Jackson’s failure to honor his obligations.

“This lawsuit will result in some discussion about the relationship between Mr. Jackson and me. Hypothetical theories, accusations and rumors, if gauging from the past, will be many. However, all of these will be replaced in court with the truth.

“On a personal note, I would like to thank all of the individuals who have given so much of their time and effort to assist me throughout the Jackson years. I thank you for your support and prayers. To the Jackson fans who have written letters to me, thank you, and I wish you all the best.

“Despite the action I have been compelled to take for professional and business reasons, when looking back, I have no regrets. Michael Jackson, in my opinion, is the ‘King of Pop,’ and I wish him, and his family, only the best.”

Washington, DC (May 5, 2009) …… “It is with deep regret that I find myself in this place, having to file a lawsuit against my longtime employer, and someone whom I have greatly admired and respected, Michael Jackson.

“Over the years, as Mr. Jackson’s Spokesperson and General Manager, sometimes during periods of critical and adverse circumstances, I have been his voice to media, fans, supporters, business interests and associates as well as those who dislike, misunderstand and constantly malign him. I have also been the constant defender against those who have, in the past,
attacked him in any fashion or form. Regardless of who you are, I believe you are entitled to a brief explanation about why I felt compelled, at this time, to take the action I have taken.

“Mr. Jackson and I have had a long, productive and mutually beneficial business relationship.

“We have experienced quite a lot together, from the child molestation trial in Santa Maria, to transitions from the United States to Bahrain, Bahrain to Ireland, Ireland back to the United States…and, all in between. At almost every step of the way, we have had constant detractors and naysayers. Throughout this relationship, I did not look at him as just a client, but a family
member, a fact that I, and others who were a part of the Jackson team, always considered, when making numerous personal sacrifices, and when making any decisions which would affect him and his children. For this reason, many of you will not understand my actions.

“Unfortunately, Mr. Jackson has elected not to honor the financial obligations of our contractual relationship, despite my numerous attempts to amicably resolve this matter. I have done everything possible to avoid this unhappiness and distraction…I have been left no choice.

“This lawsuit will result in some discussion about the relationship between Mr. Jackson and me. Hypothetical theories, accusations and rumors, if gauging from the past, will be many. However, all of these will be replaced in court with the truth.

reportedly it was Bain who initially did all the grunt work on the O2 deal years back but it never moved forward, then when new management arrived they repitched the idea as their own and moved it forward.

I have always felt Ms Bain was a good honest and respectful person in MJ's inner circle, and had his best interest at heart. I just think MJ's financial affairs are in such disarray that many people who were due their share haven't received it, and now he is due to be back in the money many will file similar claims with various levels of validity.

But I think this is a sincere and valid one.

from DenisRS on KOPD:

Whatever evidence Ms.Bain will be able to show that she participated in the earlier talks with AEG, it will not help at all since Ms.Bain never solicited that deal. According to AEG it was theirs idea to ask Michael to hold the concerts (hence it did not came from Ms.Bain)

With this, there is no way how Ms.Bain can claim anything financially about AEG deal. Not in terms of letter, but the merit of her contract, of course -- courts sometime may go judging in terms of merit. The more so her financial claims are also in the "merit" territory only anyway since she was not president of MJJ Productions when the deals signed.

And, as I said above in the answer to Aveeno1, not only AEG deal, but even "T25" deal went through MJJ Productions that was never actually closed according to California registry and already had nothing to do with Ms.Bain or "Michael Jackson Company".

Let's think from 2005-07

she kept talking to the media when T-Mez told everyone to shut up
she accompanied him to the MTV Japan awards and the SmapXSmap show
she negotiated the Ebony/Jet deal
she did the deal for the World Music Awards which was a FAIL

and a bunch of misspelled and pointless email press releases lol

AGAIN! Jacko Sued One Mo' Time!!!!
Filed under: Legal Matters > Michael Jackson

Whaddya know, it only took 24 hours for Michael Jackson to be slapped with yet another lawsuit!

This time around it's Jackson's former spokesman, Raymone Bain, behind the suing!

According to Bain, "Mr. Jackson has elected not to honor the financial obligations" of their contract even though he's made "numerous attempts to amicably resolve this matter."

AGAIN!

Sketch!!!!

Bain has also addressed the rumors and speculation that may arise from the lawsuit and hopes the truth will be heard!

Said Raymone: "This lawsuit will result in some discussion about the relationship between Mr. Jackson and me. Hypothetical theories, accusations and rumors, if gauging from the past, will be many. However, all of these will be replaced in court with the truth."

We wonder how much $$$$ Jacko owes his former employee???

Talk about bad business!

We're sure more people are gonna come after MJ's money now that he's getting paid. And they should, if he really owes them!

Why is that Michael is always getting sue? Not everyone suing him can be opportunists. Michael obviously has problems paying his bills, either that or he just lacks the ability to surround himself with decent people.
