I like Beyonce,,,,but that "To The Left, To The Left" shit won't be nowhere near remembered 10 years from now.

Thats the different between her and Jude/Hook-Nosed Barbara.

Influence is great but this is nothing more than some producer sitting in a room saying "i got no ideas, lets re-do....(fill in the blank)" , your talent comes out more when you carve your own path and paint your portrait with your "colors" not the ones that someone has already done.

If Streisand remade A Star Is Born, why can't Beyonce???

its just endless with the remakes from everyone, not just Beyonce, they are everywhere today, for every original movie now (which usually suck) theres five remakes. It all comes off as everyone is clueless how to create something new, if this was the only remake out there than no big deal, but every other second is a remake.

Yeah im not going near that. I'll give her props for her voice, her drive, her looks etc..but compared to Streisand, Beyonce would get stomped like a narc at a biker rally. Im not a fan of babs for the most part, but her vocals and knowing how to craft songs, was groundbreaking for her day. And "bootylicious" and "soldier" aint even in the park

Remakes aren't a new phenomenon.

People haven been remaking songs and movies since the beginning of entertainment.

The only difference is people can bitch about it on internet message boards.

This project doesn't even exist, and folks are already pulling their hair out over an imaginary movie!!!

falloff

Will Smith was rumored to be doing a remake of this a few years back as well. I don't think any remake of it will come to light anytime soon. For what it's worth, Streisand's version sucked, too.

Oh really, in the first eight months of 09, there will be 38 major studio film releases, 16 are remakes...thats not a trend, that is a phenomenon, that has not been duplicated in any time period. and included in what i call "remakes" are movies that are based on tv shows, video games, board games etc...thats nothing original

If folks want to express irritation over the idea of Knowles doing a reprisal of Esther they have every right to do so. That's why the "reply" feature is available for thread topics on this board. Anyway, regardless of whether this film will happen or not, there IS banter out there that a remake is in developement and she might be asked to play the lead. To alot of us, this notion begins at ludicrous and stops just short of ATROCIOUS.

For someone who has been a tremendous fan of this movie, all THREE versions, since I was yea tall, not only do I not want to see some lame ass 21st century remake of this, but I hope to GAWD that woman doesn't get within 10 miles of a script for it. smoker

not only that she has probably never seen the movies. she seems like a blank canvas unaware of what's going on around her.

no one has ever made a video for every song on an album.

she's almost treated like Britney... no one tells her whats going on just throw her out there

They always treated her (Beyonce) like a puppet. Mathew's pulling all the strings. Tina joining alongside him.

exactly....and for goodness sakes, can we PLEASE see that chile act in a role where she isn't playing a SINGER? Let's see, so far Bouncy's been able to give us riveting performances in such classics as:

MTV's CARMEN (The Hip-Hopera) --where she plays, or sings as a femme fatale!

FIGHTING TEMPTATIONS--where she plays an outcast singer who joins the church choir!

THE PINK PANTHER--where she plays a singer involved in international heist hijinks!

DREAMGIRLS--where she plays an ingenue singer thrust into the world spotlight!

CADILLAC RECORDS--where she plays a legendary blues singer!

for ONCE I would like to see this girl ACT in a film that will NOT include a slew of song tie-ins for tv promo appearances and do NOT involve an ASCAP credit. Where's her romantic comedy? Her heartwarming Christmas story? Her metropolitan girlfriends-ensemble cast movie? Hell, her pre-civil rights witnessing social change in America drama? Spy thriller? Action movie?

....Ferris?

....anyone? anyone? confuse

To quote David Soul about two months in an interview in London, "it seems to be the climate that everything has to be remade, because the minds are like empty wells"

*For those who dont know David Soul is HUTCH from the real Starsky and Hutch not that SHIT remake which was garbage*

So true and I'm tired of this no-creativity, no fresh idea, lets remake all the classics lazy mindset as well. Did you know they are going to remake the movie "Fame" as well? disbelief The studio executives were probably like, well with the huge success of High School Musical, now is the perfect time to remake another musical about singing and dancing teens!...the younger generation probably doesnt even know about the original film anyways so we're sure to make bane on this one---CHA-CHING! disbelief

Seems like nobody in Hollywood has an original thought or idea these days--all they can do is borrow, steal or rehash old stuff from others sigh

And Beyonce, please...rolleyes She's lookin more and more desperate. If she keeps this up she'll look more like a joke and less like the icon she so desperately wants to become. What next, her starring in the remake of Annie? I can just hear her now: Its time for an all-black version of Annie--like how they did with the the Wiz...and it should have a twist to it--a MAMA WARBUCKS! Thats where I come in... lol

Oh my damn, please keep it down.shhh You know she might hear you! I don't trust them Knowles folks. They might have spies and bugs. I'm afriad she might try an Eddie Murphy type movie next. One where she plays all the parts including the cameo.
