Rapper Kanye West recently went off about how great Beyoncé Knowles is. According to him, she might even be greater than Tina Turner.

He says, “Nobody really wants to recognize that Beyoncé is a f***ing living legend and that she is just as great, if not greater, than the artists that we had in the past…that she’s probably greater than Tina Turner.”

That’s quite a big thing to say. I’m not so sure I’d go that far

We all know Kanye is just an immature dick, and we tolerate it, because its now expected. Kind of like when Little Richard would go on every award show and say the winner is "me", the difference, Little Richard had a lifetime of being screwed by everyone, kanye has not. As for this TINA comment, i really take offense to this comment, because of WHO Tina Turner was and is, what she represented as a woman, the times she went through. I mean she played clubs back in the day that wouldnt even let her eat a meal in the club because she was black, Beyonce has not even seen anything like that. She is alive because of someone like TINA. TINA did not have any of the benefits that Beyonce has had, a media that is up her ass 24/7, every magazine cover, every poster in a store, every 5 seconds on a video channel, Tina had none of that.I would have more respect or less offense to this comment had Beyonce struggled or even Kanye the way any of the past artists struggled, got screwed, just so they could have the benefits they do.

I'll give you that newer generations hardly get the credibility they deserve and everyone puts icons like Tina, Aretha, etc. on their shoulders and dismisses everyone else, but that is an absurd statement.

With every new album, the cracks in Beyoncé facade become more clear and she is much more of a style icon and great singer than a real artist. Yes, she writes her songs and for the most part Tina doesn't but with songs like those? I'll put "Nutbush City Limits" up against the crap on any of the five editions of "Sasha Fierce". I think Kayne is just being goofy and trying to get attention....or he seriously suffered brain damage in that accident!

Unfortunately, when the media puts a microphone in front of that fool, they are simply providing him with a platform that he then uses to irritate the rest of the world.

If no one paid him any mind, didnt patronise his events, his photo-ops, his appearances at events, etc.....then he would have to pay for his own press releases, at which point, the media could simply ignore him and not report anything he says.

We should all be able to hope.....
