More stupidity from Kandyass West. Beyonce has many dues to pay before she can catch up to Ms. Turner. Tina has endured different eras and different styles of music. If B can stay in the business long enough and show versatility, she has a shot at least as good as TT if not greater.

i agree with kanye, i never saw anything special in tina turner.her and aretha franklin are the most over rated female artists imo, but at least aretha have the accomplishments to go along with her hype, i just dont think tina turner has left the kind of musical legacy to warrant the pedastal people put her on

It's not an absurd statement.
Tina Turner didn't write her songs and it's arguable who has better songs.
Beyonce was the lead singer in the most succesful girl band ever, is a very successful solo artist and has a better voice.

That was a great tour book. I felt so validated when I read that Manolo Blahnik and Louboutin did Tina's shoes. Bad bitch worship

ELAINE : You'd be tense too, Jerry, if you hadn't had sex for a week.
JERRY : You split up with Maxwell?
ELAINE : No. He's just so fixated on my feet by the time he moves higher up my body he's ...spent.
JERRY : Spent?
ELAINE : Y'know...spent.
JERRY : Ah, spent.
ELAINE : I tell ya, having the feet of an angel ain't all it's cracked up to be.

ELAINE : Not yet. He's getting me these Manolo Blahnik's. From Paris. I'll be the first person in NYC to wear them. But after that - poof! - he's history.

I don't agree with her being bigger than Tina, but I think she has potential to become a legend though songs like Diva will not help that at all.

Better singer? Since when is hystrionic wailing deemed better than a voice that can knock an audience on its ass?

I'm not a huge fan of either Tina or Beyonce but I gotta chime in here. If you look at the totality of Tina's catalog it's not overwhelmingly fantastic. She's recorded an awful lot of mediocre music. Yes, she obviously has many high points but if you consider everything that she recorded a lot of it was pretty poor. Now, Beyonce has recorded a lot less than Tina but I would argue that her music has been a bit more consistently good than Tina's. As of right now I think that on balance Beyonce's music, taken altogether, is "better" than Tina's music, taken altogether. To be fair to Tina the market today is vastly different than it was during the '60s-'80s when Tina was at her peak. In the '60s Tina was churning out multiple albums every year. Compare that to Beyonce who must be averaging one album every two years. So Beyonce's quality control is much higher than Tina's was. The question is will Beyonce maintain the same standard of quality over the course of her career.

there was a period of time where tina turner was a 'what ever happened to', i think her making that big comeback at her age with private dancer coupled with the book and movie about her abusive life had alot to do with people's awe of her, she wasnt that great imo

Beyonce is still not in the league of Tina Turner, whether Tina is overrated or whatever people think, she still isnt close to tina. Beyonce has hit a wall, she has not progressed musically since her Destinys child days, the songs, the tone, the angle, its all been the same through her DC days and now all over solo records. She needs to do a 360, and that DOESNT mean this fake ass SASHA crap. I mean Mariah called herself MIMI and yet the music was the same old bullshit.

You bring up a good point. Many of these modern-day female "divas" don't know how to grow and evolve! They do the same, dull album over and over.Beyonce thinks that coming up with a stupid alter ego is "reinventing herself" rolleyes Both her and Mariah need to get out of their shit hop comfort zones and make some INTERESTING music for a change...you know,a REAL reinvention for a change.

I'd like to drop that fool on his motherfucking head. Anna Mae should go to town on his ass with those stilettos of hers.

After having seen Tina in concert earlier this month, I'd hope she'd kick Kayne in the balls with those stilletos. She put on such an incredible show so to hear Kayne say that shows how much he has for those who are real, legitmate legends as opposed to fake-ass wanna-be's like Beyonce and Kanye himself. Kanye needs to sit his sorry ass DOWN.

What most people don't recognise is that people with massive head injuries often have SERIOUS ISSUES with impulse control. Every time I see him do interviews he is often struggling with getting his ideas accross. That combined with self-medication for greif is a very serious thing. People should cut him some slack as we normally do for most people who are mentally ill.

I think Kanye is an extremely talented person. He has produced SO much really good music in the last 5 years.

I just tend to overlook it and attribute it to the things that I mentioned earlier.
