It's really great. bananadance bitchfight

As a listener, it feels like you are swimming or something. It opens up the sonic space, so you have to take the voices in peripherally, and at the same time, you get a wider view of all the sounds happening at once. love Very chaotic, and yet encompassing, like being inside of a circle. The song has dimension. The trumpet texture against this is very pleasurable and stands out melodically, a soothing element inside all the racket. This really is the best use of voices as percussive pieces, which the best rap achieves (not just words, but beats and textures). Form over content! Woohoo!!!!

I often do this kind of thing in my own work -- slightly misaligning melody lines for instance. It always creates a lifting, dreamlike feeling, sort of lost and decentering. I like how it sounds with words too, and then the trumpet melody creates a constant stream. I'm wondering if it would be possible to do this with different words spoken on top of each other, if it would have a similar effect. It's worth experimenting on this idea. I'm so inspired! biggrin

I'm listening to this song with new ears thanks to you. It really is fascinating. nod

woot! isn't it great?

I didn't even notice the title till now "Caught in the Middle of a 3-Way Mix" - confirms the feeling I was spekaing of of being inside a circle "caught". They must've taken three separate recordings and pulled them into this one song. Fun!

Cinnie

I hoped it was a in-studio 3-way with Ione Skye and Molly Ringwald.

I think this is my new favorite song on Cinnie's mix. I should have appreciated it more when I owned it. neutral

Mine was just a Next Plateau die-cut sleeve.
