The usage of the term "sexist" is baseless in this argument. If he doesn't think Janet is as talented, or "genius" as Michael - where does the reasoning that its b/c she is a "female" come in? If she were male, he would've said "a genius' brother". Another ridiculous thread, started by a fence-hopping supposed MJ fan! Is it a given that all MJ fans are only fans of MJ? I'm sure they are not, so with that, it is a given that they are interested in other artist as well, ones who are releasing albums and going on tours and am sure will be ready and waiting to support MJ when he does come back!
Janet fans can say what they want, MJ has had a tremendous effect on Janet's career, he really did pave the way for her. With that said, she has done her thing over the years and is to be congratulated for that. No man is an island! | |

Floacist, you claim that people are missing the point of your topic, but I just don't get what your deal is . Even at the MJ boards , you're always saying that Michael fans are jealous of Janet and that just isn't true. Yes, Janet is putting out music regularly, but it's not like any of it is groundbreaking or compares with any of her older stuff & she's been claiming she would tour since "Damita Jo" and hasn't, though it finally looks like it's happening this time. All of this is why people seem to be indifferent to her these days though. I think she should take a break after this tour and give people a chance to miss her.

I don't know why you brought "Invincible" into this though. That album wasn't his best, but "Butterflies" is classic MJ and better than anything on Janet's last four albums imo. That is one of his best songs ever, period. Michael's circumstances are different than Janet's though. In case you forgot, Michael got himself caught up in another mess once again a few years ago and almost went to jail, so of course there hasn't been a new album from him since Vince. The new album is an important one for him though, if it flops or if it's no good, then that's it. It will be hard for his career to recover, so I understand why he's taking his time, I just hope it's worth the wait. You know, maybe it´s that I have been to busy prepearing for my state exams to follow anyone or anything, but I don´t feel that I am missing anything. Noone (incoluding Janet) has impressed me and I have stopped thinking about Janet as Michael´s sister a long time ago. It seems that I could not care less about anything she or anyone else does these days.
I am actually glad in a way that it´s so quiet about MJ, because I would not have time to follow or enjoy it and that would frustrate me. But still even Prince who does release stuff, I don´t feel blessed that I am getting something from him, because since New Power Soul, nothing has impressed me too, so I don´t consider it a "blessing" to be his fan as well. So at this point there is no difference for me between doing nothing and releasing weak albums. And yes, I would looooove for MJ to come back so much, but believe it or not, it is not driving me crazy at this point. Looks like it's her third low-selling album in a row.At this point,it seems like a new Michael Jackson album would easily outsell a new Janet album.This would have been unheard of in the 90s. | |

Yes, Janet is talented, but Michael is the epitome of genius. His talent, his skill, and even his eccentricities will be remembered for centuries to come. Yes, Janet has had a career, partly because of what Michael helped engineer, but still a very good run. I would call Janet an entertainer instead of an artist. I wouldn't put Madonna on the same level as Prince or Michael either..... Fans that value artistry, and not simply popularity, wouldn't be jealous of Janet.... | |

Just cos MJ ain't doing shit doesn't give reason to hate on or be jealous of Janet. Firstly, Janet's album (in fact last 3 albums) has been a monstrous flop worldwide. And IS she touring the world? The US and Canada, yeah, but she hasn't toured Europe or Australia for 10 years.
Being "jealous" of Janet cos MJ's not around is like being jealous of The Osmonds who are touring and together too.
