A damn shame! It's a better record than that! Just heard "Can't B Good" on R&B radio but considering it was satellite, maybe that doesn't help sell records. Fred of B-52s not only has his own weekly show but "Funplex" gets played on several stations, including The Pulse, the nineties and now station which is popular.

The Rihanna song is "Irreplaceable" part 2, even the video is the same shit, im not surprised its number one since, downloads are nothing more than labels buying their own chart positions, im not sure why no one has caught on to this, downloads are faceless purchases, no one has a clue where they are coming from and who is buying them.

Also what is with this current chart generation and labels sitting on singles for so damn long? The Danity Kane single is 4 months old, so what its in the Top 10, cash in, you got good tracks on the record, it went gold, you should have at least been up to the third single at this point, labels have no clue, thats what happens when you let "marketing majors" run shit.

PCD will debut their new single on TV May20th and then it will go up for sale the same day, its all very secretive right now, but coming together quick, already playing shows overseas, booked some NYC concerts on the DL, headlining the MTV movie awards with Coldplay, and doing both summer concert series events this summer.

To a certain extent, but it still depends who you are. If you are Paul McCartney and strike a deal with Starbucks to release that is relevant, and cds do matter, if you are J Holliday or someone like that putting out an album, you might as well just release a ringtone, because that is all you are worth for the most part, and though those ringtones may sell tons, the artist gets about 1% of it.

And the last thing which is working 100% is the starbucks deal, since regular retail is gone, the likes of McCartney,Morrisette,Mellencamp,Mitchell,Dylan,Norah,Carly and many others are going to starbucks because its where they can get their cds up-front in view, and also played in stores, and lets face it, the Starbucks stores outnumber retail 100-1 at this point.

The top touring acts are Bon Jovi, Bruce, the Stones, Elton, Billy Joel etc..none of them are in their "prime selling days" or even on the radio or video stations, but this is nothing new, these artists are not dumb. Like Billy Joel said when indcuting Mellencamp into the Hall of Fame, "no one is selling records anymore" and then said "congrats John, u outlived the music business" and its true, Mellencamp has a new record coming out in July and he signed with the HEAR for the record, which gives him a very large % of the sales, so even if he sells 100,000 he will be called a failure, but in the bank, is more than anyone in the top 10 is getting off their million sellers.
