I must say, Madonna is NOT funky. Now that I got that out of the way, "She's Not Me" is one funky song and seeing that Wendy is on this joint, it makes good sense why it's hot like that! Madge maeks some great dance songs but it's very rare that she does a song that I see as being funky. "Everybody" & "Physical Attraction" was one of those rare songs but "She's Not Me" shocked my ass. Wendy did the damn thing on this track!

I'm sure, even though Tribe sampled it from somewhere else, that Neptunes is referring to "I Left My Wallet In El Segundo" because over the years The Neptunes made many many references to that album being formative for them.

When fans finally get their copies of Hard Candy this weekend and next week,they may wonder about the identity of the "Wendy" called out by Madonna and Pharrell before the musical break in the song "She's Not Me".

That "Wendy" is Wendy Melvoin,better known for being a member of Prince's band in the 80s and later forming the duo Wendy and Lisa.She does a surprise appearance on Hard Candy,playing great guitar on "She's Not Me".
