The Impressions - Loving Power
The Delfonics - The Delfonics
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

What's your first?

Since I listened to Coltrane & HBP on Thursday, I changed my playlist. Now I'm listening to a collection I cracked open for the first time today . . .

Great album. But I prefer to two later ones that Leroy Hutson produced.

As if I had to ask . . . smile

Simply transcendent. In a way, to call it an album is almost an insult, but what other word would do?

peace

To me, it's the most sacred piece of music ever recorded. But that's just me. I rarely listen to it, because it's that special. You cannot just listen to it .. you need to experience it. Lay down, light incense, maybe hit a doobie .. you need to dive into it.

At least that's how I do it. biggrin

It was a collection put together in conjunction with an exhibit at the new Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. It features R&B tracks recorded in Nashville by artists like Joe Tex and tracks from R&B artists based here in Nashville. It spans 1945 to 1970. These are tracks I'm hearing for the first time and they are old-fashioned, quintessential rhythm and blues tracks and they did a great job remastering them. The sound is clear as day. You might want to check the usual places like dustygroove.com et al. for vinyl, but here's the home site.
