I have not heard this song in a long time...

It brings back memories of my childhood.

In the 70s,there were so many cool pop singles on the radio.1974 was a particularly good year.I have this song on a compilation that also includes these songs from the same year...

"Billy Don't Be A Hero" by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods
"I Can Help" by Billy Swan
"Who Do You Think You Are" by Bo Donaldson and the Heywoods
"Please Come To Boston"

music such a cool time to grow up in!

Here is a bit of trivia on the Billy Swan song. If you listen closely toward the end, you might hear some giggling and laughter. The reason, his dog had gotten loose in the studio and started jumping up on Billy. The laughter that you hear is his band members and others applauding him for getting through the song...

I have been on a 70s kick lately and this one is on my playlist. Really cheese, totally 70s, but fun as hell. One funny side note about this song...in the beginning they sing "Daddy was a cop on the EAST side of Chicago..." HELLO??? There IS no East Side of Chicago!! That would be Lake Michigan! lol lol lol

Other tunes that are on the playlist:

It Never Rains in Southern California
Southern Nights
Gypsie Woman
Angie Baby (does anyone remember this one?)
You're So vain
Go All The Way

Great stuff...really brings me back to the day!

I can't believe how much I like that song. So incredibly cheesy its not even funny, but damn its a good song!

Got some more 70s tunes here:

Sister Golden Hair
My Little Town
Wild Fire
Why Can't We Be Friends
Don't Rock The Boat
Rock Me Gently
Seasons in the Sun (THE most depressing song masked in a chirpy pop song ever)

I like all of those songs!! lol Only in the 70s could you write a song about a horse ("WildFire") and have a hit single with it,lol.

"Sister Golden Hair" music "Seasons In The Sun" is depressing indeed,lol...speaking of depressing 70s soft rock, what about "Alone Again (Naturally)" by Gilbert Sullivan? That's a real tearjerker sad

another cool 70s soft rock song: "A Horse With No Name" by America (1972) music

"Diamond Girl" by Seals and Crofts (1972) music

"Fallin In Love" by Hamilton,Joe Frank and Reynolds (1975)

"Laughter In The Rain" by Neil Sedaka (1974)

"Times Of Your Life" by Paul Anka (1976?)

this thread is gonna make me pull out my 70s soft rock CDs! lol

That song as well as Steely Dan's, "Do It Again". To this day, everytime I hear that song I get chills. It has this middle eastern feel to it.
