I can't stand Diddy, not even mocking him.But towards the end she reminded a lilttle more OF Michael than Diddy, now on the real world one it was just funny seeing her going off cause I can't see Janet doing that lol

I also like the the Tila Tequila one, it's like not even a real key, this thing is so fake, and it doesn't even open a thing, like duh lol

Wow, Khia goin off on Janet in this interview:

http://allhiphop.com/stor...37592.aspx

AllHipHop.com: Now we've all seen the video [see above] with you explaining the Janet Jackson situation.

Khia: Oh f**k Janet. F**k Janet. F**k Janet, she's a hater. All the fans wanted to know what was up with the TV incident. Why wasn't I on the TV you know and I just felt like Janet hated, you know? I felt like that was an opportunity for me to shine. You called me to save the day; I went in, I wrote on the song it wasn't no problem. Much love to J.D. But my song was the hottest song on the album everyone know that. talk dirty did ya hungry.” [Ed. Note: lyrics from Janet Jacksons So Excited from 20 Y.O.] And they were expecting me on TV and it was like she hated. I feel like I didn't need Janet, Janet needed me.

Janet Jackson is a star it's no question but we're a little tired of those "Thriller" dancing routines. And all that other stuff she got going on there's a new generation out here and she only did a handful of features with her brother, Busta, me. I mean she doesn't really do 'em, but she's getting old so it's now it's you ain’t in competition with me give back. I mean that was an opportunity where she could of introduced me, she was on Tyra she was on all those other shows. I didn't really need that and I don't do features so I'm not going to say, "Janet I needed you." But, you called me to do the song, you know I'm an independent female you know I'm a black woman. You already know how much they give us hell, you aint even recovered from the t-shirt malfunction, you'll never be where Mariah is at right now because you're Janet that's the same thing I go through.

So she was in a position of power to reach back and say, "You know what Khia's doing her thing, listen Khia come perform, I want them to see her, I wanted her to be on the song." F*ck Janet. B***h your album ain't gonna sell this time around 'cause you hated.

AllHipHop.com: Was this a specific show where you were like, What's up can I get down?

Khia: Well no. I can't really say that cuz I don't really do features so I can't say that she totally turned her back on me. But a lot of people was callin’ saying show for show; she did the Oprah show, she did the Tyra show and they heard my song, my hook in the background because of course it made the song. So the fans was like, "Khia why you weren't on the show?" I was like well she hated, she got intimidated, she hated. She ain't want to share her shine but I feel like you're Janet Jackson girl and you need to stop. You're a hater you ain't exempt and f**k you, I hope your album flops this time around too. And I meant that.

That Khia interview is the greatest thing ever. First off, "So Excited" is among the mediocre tracks that bog down "20 YO" and it would have been much better if Janet would have sang the those parts herself. I'm not thinking that Janet is almighty and Khia should kiss her ass, but for someone like Khia, who was a novelty one hit wonder, something like singing on a potential monster hit track off an album which could be a smash...what a fucking opportunity....perhaps a gift!

I mean, looking back on the singles from the last two albums, you can stretch the definition of hit and make these claims. "I Want You" and "Just A Little While" were modest pop hits...."Call On Me" was an R&B #1...."All Nite" is a fan favorite and a dance hit (if she tours, I hope if she pulls out anything from those 2 albums, it is this, but I have doubts). What did "So Excited" do other than perform so badly that it halted nearly any momentum the album could have had and helped cement Janet's exit from Virgin?

Where are people buying Discipline from?

I wanted to start a second thread and hope to get some Feedback on this. Here are what some of the bigger chains are doing as far as promotional items.

Best Buy is doing the same shit of selling the album for two dollars more and giving you 5 downloads which they do for some of the bigger albums. I don't think this applies to the Deluxe edition, which is just two dollars more.

Circuit City trumps this big time! They are offering the standard edition with five downloads for the discounted price of $9.99 (the deluxe edition is $12.99, a dollar more than BB and I'm not sure if you get the downloads but you should).

As far as getting a cool Janet extra, there is Kmart but there is a catch. They seem to be offering the standard edition for $11.99 (not sure if they will even carry the deluxe edition) but the free offer. A Janet poster with the Feedback single picture (although I don't think it's her full body, but from the hips up).

And Itunes is offering a bonus track (and maybe the music video) but I want a hard copy of the album.

I'm torn. Damn it Janet, I love you! If I could get the CD for $10 and with the poster, that would be cool. Not so sold on the deluxe edition since I bought the waaay to expensive one for "20YO" and I still don't think have watched the DVD (but the casing is cool and I love the proper album cover as opposed to the fan made ones).

If you haven't bought it yet, what will you do? BTW, I was thinking about going to an indie store but the one that sells new music in Ann Arbor (well. the good one that sells new music in Ann Arbor) closed! If you are familiar with the area, Skoolhouse Kids Records (I think that's the name...honestly, I never went there very much) is out of business (well, as the site says they closed their brick and mortar store...sad). I mean, chains are evil, but it's not only the prices but the extras...Damn! And I don't really have the money to be choosy...I really got the money for CDs!

Janet's latest thriller

Jackson returns to dance-pop roots on irresistible ‘Discipline’

KEVIN NAFF, Washington Blade
Friday, February 22, 2008

AFTER COMMERCIALLY DISAPPOINTING departures from her pop-dance roots, Janet Jackson returns to form with this week’s release of “Discipline,” her 10th studio album.

The structure of the album will be instantly familiar to Janet’s fans: dance tracks up front, followed by mid-tempo songs and a ballad or two, all separated by brief interludes. Unlike previous efforts, in which the interludes serve to set up and tease a song, the selections this time feature an obnoxious robotic character called Kyoko. It’s a silly waste of time — let’s hear the music.

And the music doesn’t disappoint. The opening track, and first single, “Feedback,” includes the unfortunate line, “My swag is serious, somethin’ heavy like a first-day period.” Despite that bit of too much information, the song has become Jackson’s highest-selling digital track to date and a hit in the clubs thanks to an infectious hook and irresistible electronic beat.

But that’s not the best dance track on the album. That honor belongs to “2 Nite.” This is the disco-influenced big pop dance hit she’s needed.

Jackson’s voice is distorted to extremes on “So Much Betta,” which features a Daft Punk sample. “Rock With U” doesn't sample her brother’s similarly titled hit, but his disco-era days come to mind as she sings, “Strobe lights make everything sexier.” “Greatest X,” co-written by The-Dream, is a soaring power ballad and one of the best of her career.

Missy Elliott, who collaborated with Jackson on the 2001 hit “Son of a Gun,” is back with a hilarious rap on "The 1." "Let me be the one for ya, playa/Let's see what's behind them Gucci underwayas."

“Luv” employs a car-crash metaphor to explore the joys of falling in love and is yet another radio-friendly track, while “Rollercoaster” is a bouncy treat that just begs to be cranked at full volume with the top down.

"DISCIPLINE," WITH ITS accompanying cover photo featuring Jackson in bondage gear, seems like an odd choice for a title track. The dark theme doesn’t pervade the album, which has a much more upbeat, dance-pop appeal than the cover art suggests.

As with “20 Y.O.,” Jackson stays focused on themes of love and sex and avoids weighing in on the personal controversies that she endured over the past few years, including the Super Bowl fiasco and brother Michael’s trial on child molestation charges. It’s a surprising omission for someone who has made her life experiences the hallmark of her music. After writing about sex since 1993, Jackson’s grownup fans might appreciate a little more introspection about her life in the spotlight. Who better to write a poignant and insightful commentary on our celebrity-obsessed culture than Jackson, who quite literally grew up on the stage?

This album reminds us that Jackson, 41, can out-sex and out-perform all those imitators half her age. And the virtues of hard work and discipline serve as a timely lesson for younger stars like Britney Spears, who sleepwalked through her own recent comeback.

Despite some minor disappointments, “Discipline” is jammed with hits and should return Janet to her rightful place as the queen of R&B-pop-dance. Even MTV, which boycotted her last two albums, is back on board, featuring Jackson in a series of uproarious commercials spoofing various MTV shows.

Longtime collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are gone, for the first time since 1986’s groundbreaking “Control.” Instead, an army of the biggest producers in the business, including Rodney Jerkins, Ne-Yo, L.A. Reid and boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, lend the beats. But Janet’s voice and point of view don’t get lost in all the slick production, synth flourishes and samples. Unlike “20 Y.O.,” “Discipline” is not a retro effort full of self-references reliving the glory days. It’s a modern, relevant album sure to influence a new generation of performers.

On first listen, I wasn't so thrilled, as I felt that the three songs available on her myspace page were definitely the best songs. But the more I've listened, the more I've enjoyed it. I don't think it's an amazing return to form as some are claiming, but I love Janet through and through and will enjoy Discipline as I enjoyed Damita Jo and 20 Y.O. as well.

I have the cd and I must say, I am very impressed with the dance tracks. This cd has some definate club bangers and booty poppers. 2Nite, Rollercoster,Luv, Feedback.Rock With U, So Much Better, And Whats your Name. Classic dance/pop Janet. This is the music that made her hot to begin with and I am happy she returned to her form. People continue to compare this to her previous works, but this is now, that was then. The slow jams need to grow on me, although I love the very Prince like Discipline (I'm no nun, after all). I think with the very heavy promotion MTV is FINALLY giving Janet, she may have a hit on her hands. At age 40 plus, she is still "sexy, sexy'sexy.

I'm glad they're supporting her this go round but part of me feels like, F*ck 'em. Now it's okay to promote Janet? Now they can have her on their dumb network? Whatever.

New interview with The Advocate

A new interview with Janet is published in the March 11 issue of the gay and lesbian news magazine The Advocate.

In the interview, Janet talks about what she thinks would happen if one of her brothers came out as gay, why nobody on American Idol has ever sung one of her songs, and whether she is a top or a bottom.
