I don't know maybe it's just me. The show seems to be mostly a put on. I know in reality salt has become more spiritual. Remember pepa was on the surreal life show a couple of years ago with the two witches of eastwick omorosa and janice dickson. Whenever those two got into it, pepa was always the peacemaker and she seemed to be the headier person in the household. She wasn't dressed like a skank or none of that. She did mention salt n pepa ended because salt wasn't comfortable with some of the material they used to perform but on the surreal life she didn't come off as ghetto and arrogant. I think vh1 came to them about doing a show and they probably thought it would be a good opportunity to get their name back out there.
