Madonna album in February 2008 (Warner Italy exec) according to Madonnatribe.com:
"Finally something that looks more certain about the release of Madonna's new album. After weeks of speculation about tentative release dates, in an interview to Italian music magazine Musica & Dischi, the man in charge of Warner Music Italy, Massimo Giuliano, not only says that Warner artists had a great year in Italy in 2007 (Confessions Tour was a huge commercial hit) but mentions that Madonna's new album is expected for a February 2008 release. As previously reported Giuliano confirms that this album is one of the last two records Madonna owes to Warner to end her current contract with them. So apparently February 2008 is actually the month to be looking for!" "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran

Girls Aloud Kylie Britney Celene Spice Girls and few others seem to have caused to much competition or the fact that they were still working on it in late September, and that Akon says that they're doing their collaboration for her album later in the year. it just isn't finished yet. and judging by The Beat Goes On and Candy Shop, all I can say is THANK GOD! back to the drawing board, please! forget all of them. let's hope she works with a songwriter again. she obviously needs it, listening to the 3 songs we've heard from these sessions. unless the Timbaland stuff is just out of this world, this is shaping up to be her worst album ever (and i'm including Who's That Girl, I'm Breathless, You Can Dance, Evita, and GHV2). the version of "candy shop" that was played last weekend at the club was ace!!!
i hope we at least get an official single and video before or around the holidays. as far as who she works with, well, her career and status isn't in any immediate danger...so let's just enjoy what she does. but i agree about her working with another songwriter again. (i.e. Leonard. Knowles,) i love Timbaland's beats so i think this will be a fun collaboration! LOVE ♪♫♪♫ ♣¤═══¤۩۞۩ஜ۩ஜ۩۞۩¤═══¤♣

Girls Aloud Kylie Britney Celene Spice Girls and few others seem to have caused to much competition Mariah, JLo, Alicia Keys, Celine, Mary J Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood (whose 6 million selling debut came out same day as 'Confessions' back in Nov '05)... The labels are pulling out all the stops and setting up their major female rosters to compete...Madonna (or Warner) is smart to let the dust settle and have Madge take over early '08 they way 'Ray of Light' did in '98!! It also comes around the time of the Hall of Fame, her 50th b-day....lots of significant stuff. ... [Edited 10/10/07 16:58pm] Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I've only heard two: "The Beat Goes On" and "Candy Shop" Was there another leak? So far,Madonna has recorded 22 songs for the album, but she will only use 14 for the album. It's likely that neither of those two songs will appear on the album.

I agree,it makes sense for this album to come out in February. There are too many other high-profile releases coming out at the end of the year.Plus, like you point out, early 2008 will be an exciting time for Madonna... *the Hall of Fame (assuming she gets inducted) *planning/rehearsing for a summer tour *the upcoming box set, which will be talked about alot in 2008 (I predict it will actually happen this time...probably right after the tour ends) *her departure from Warners and her fresh start at LiveNation 2008 has the potential to be a big year for her, with alot of interesting things happening all at once.

CUT IT OUT, GIRL! That's my biggest worry about this album. It seems like she's just done a Kylie record and is now making her Gwen record. We don't need Madonna pretending to be a Madonna wannabe. We don't need a 50 year old woman pretending to be a 40 year old woman pretending to be a 20 year old girl. Just because she's 48 doesn't mean that she should stop making "fun" music.I mean, she got all serious with 'American Life' (a very mature, introspective album) and look how that turned out.The success of 'Confessions On A Dancefloor' proves that her fans want a fun, danceable, youthful album from her. This is Madonna we're talking about here This isn't Sheryl Crow or Jewel!
