I recently heard a terrible cover verison of "Love is the Drug" by Kylie...not sure if it was new. It was being played on the BBC1 station and all they listed was "Kylie/Love is the Drug 1967 cover" or something like that. Sounded like something from her "Indie" era.

I love her cover of "Love Is the Drug"!

There are a lot of great picks here. I'll add another to the list:

The Cure's epic "Lovesong" was BUTCHERED by 311. They turned it into some reggae-styled shit. I will never forgive them for it. stab

Jordan Knight's cover of "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" is unforgivable too.

I do, I do! I hate that shit. That's probably the one "classic" song that I out-and-out loathe. That being said, Madonna's version is even worse IMO; it's the worst thing she's ever done.

I actually don't mind Jordan Knight's "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man." It works as a ballad.

Yes. One of the most overrated songs of all time. Awful. Right up there with "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Hotel California".

I know. I love what she did with it. It's eighties and sort of tacky yet it works and her vocal performance is great!

It is current. It was released on a compilation for a British Radio station, where modern artists covered a hit song from each year from 1967-2006.

Me too - I think it's the most obnoxious, pompous and overblown radio standard you'll ever hear. I can't think of a song that would make me reach for the tuner dial more quickly.

It is not a favorite song of mine nor do I even like it, but this is the first time I have read that it is vomit-inducing. I thought Americans held it up as a sacred song or something. I guess not! biggrin

lol
I can't imagine a more nauseating song. The fact that I had to endure god-knows-how-many drunken singalongs of that elephant’s left testicle of a song during my university days just entrenched my hatred.

I don't like the Rock sound and Tina's screaming on the song.

I prefer Al Green's smooth voice, the horns, bass guitar, and the violins.
